When you wick it next time make one end of the wick a bit longer and place it over the coil or next to the coil. Been doing this for awhile and I get awesome vapor and flavor production. Hasn't started a fire yet with no dry burns either. ;)
Here's what I'm talking about.

I use this build also. May I ask why you don't continue your top wick all the way down to the other side?

Here's a few photos of what I tried to accomplish today.
First, a photo of the deck without any modifications at all.
I had not even washed it yet.

And this is after about 30 minutes TRYING to carefully make the channels a bit deeper.

I don't think I accomplished much, but it DOES seem to wick a bit better, and it's definitely
not flooding. I was mostly afraid of not knowing when to stop, but I don't think I ruined anything.
That little....divot where the 90-degree angle should be still bugs me. I get the feeling it shouldn't
have that....dent. But, oh well.

Got my Black Edition 2 days ago. A caveat on my review though, this is my first RBA (not RDA) although I've looked at a bunch of them while deciding on what I wanted to get. I'm not a rookie on coil buids either. Thoughts:

Very nice looking clone. Threading and machining are very good. The 510 threads seem pretty sharp though and can sometimes grab my 510 connector on the MVP when threading it.

The tank section with the plastic piece in the middle was really tight and hard to get the last metal section off when I first got it. I used some rubber bands to get a good grip on it. I was worried about breaking the plastic part with too hard of a grip. It's much easier now after getting it apart the first time.

Air hole screw is a little tough to get in correctly when it has been taken out. I took it all the way out then wanted to try it with different airflow. You have to be really careful to not cross thread it when putting it back in. It gets pretty tight just before getting it to the fully closed point. May be sharp threads causing resistance.

The insulator on the center pin does cover the airhole about 25%. I'll probably sand it down eventually but I'm getting decent enough flow to not worry about it. I also made sure the holes in the center post lined up with the external air channel. Line the slot in the pin up with the air hole. I'm not getting any whistling even with the airflow screw in. It did it a couple hits but quit after that. I even tried hitting it super hard and didn't hear anything except normal airflow.

I have an MVP and I have to pull the pin out a little on some evods and my IGO-W doesn't get good connection sometimes. I figured I'd have to back out the adjustable 510 screw on this tank. I put it all the way in to start with and it gets a fine connection. Guess I didn't need that feature. Nice to have anyway.

I put a 6 wrap 30 ga. micro coil (1.5 ohm) on it and some cotton wick. Did the typical "wet it down and shove it against the deck walls" wick. For my first build on one of these it has been flawless. Great flavor. Really good vapor (not RDA but hey it's not a dripper).

Love it.

Anyone have a Thread size/pitch for the Coil screws?

My second KFL+ BE has an issue and I'd rather just correct it myself than play mail tag.

Negative post is not fully threaded. Factory forced the screw in place and stripped its threads. Fortunately no damage to existing Hole threading and I have several spare screws. Unfortunately it needs about 3 more turns to seat properly.

Any help appreciated - my internet is sporadic ATM from Ice storm and most sites will not load.

Well, I have had my KFL+ Black Edition for about 24 hours now, and I must say that it's very nice! I also have a 'real' SvoeMesto KFL+ to compare it to, and the Black Edition is not too far off from the original....

There are a few issues with the Black Edition that I noticed, though. One is that the air adjust screw is VERY loose (almost like the OD of the screw is too small for the ID of the hole). I swapped out the Allen-head screw for the flat-head one, and I've already had the flat-head one back out on me several times...I find that if I leave it screwed in so that the draw is a bit tight, it seems to be OK. Maybe I'll put the Allen-head one back in - it seemed more "tight" and less prone to backing out...

The next issue is that the center piece of the SS tank does not match the other 2 pieces. I prefer to run my Kayfuns "windowless", with all 3 SS pieces of the tank installed. I am not sure if it's brushed slightly different or what, but it appears to be a bit darker than the top & bottom pieces....not a huge deal, but noticeable nonetheless....I am having trouble uploading pics, otherwise I would show you guys..

The final thing (and this might just be my imagination), is that the bottoms of the deck +/- screws seem to be more 'rounded' than those on my KFL+. In other words, I had a REALLY hard time trapping the Kanthal underneath the screws (even when the wire was wrapped clockwise)....The screws kept spitting the wire out from under them...I eventually got it secured, but I have not had that problem with my HCigar 3.1 or my SvoeMesto KFL+....

Other than that, it's a great little atty! I have a 1.5 Ohm 28ga. Microcoil in it right now, and I am vaping MBV Blackberry...the flavor is excellent, and I have had ZERO problems with wicking/gurgling/leaking, etc.... The juice channels seem to be plenty deep enough on mine, so maybe I lucked out in that regard! All in all, I think it was a good $49 spent!! The issues are very minor for the most part....
