Sorry I quoted this from halfway down the thread. So i always thought i had to put the wick (cotton for me) right next to the juice channel to avoid flooding the chamber? I thought the wick would get its juice from the juice channel and once saturated with juice it wouldnt b able to keep absorbing more juice hence preventing the flooding?
So do you guys always move the wick away from the juice channels?

I don't. I think I actually like it better when the cotton lies on top of the channels. I think the key there is to make sure it isn't pressed against the deck too hard as that may cause it to expand into the channels when juiced up. If the cotton is fluffy, it shouldn't restrict the deck channels but laying on top of them will ensure the juice has a direct line to the wick. YMMV.

HELP!
My KFL is stuck to my Ba Gua 22Ti! Tried everything to get it off besides using pliers... Any solutions that won't damage either the KFL or the Ba Gua?

Run it under cold water for a minute then use a towel to grip the kayfun base and mod, grip hard and twist with strength but slowly, it should give after a few tries. If you don't want to wet your mod then put it in the fridge for a few minutes.

I'm not 100% sure but if the bagua's 510 connection is brass I think brass contracts more than the stainless steel under cold temperature so it should come right out after everything is cooled down enough. Try the freezer for 10 minutes instead of the fridge.

Just fluff up your cotton tails and lay them straight over the entire deck, don't push them down hard onto the deck, just lay them there. I said this a few pages back, once you put your chamber on you should see cotton along the entire bottom of the deck. Try to lay it there before putting on the chamber, once the chamber is on don't push it down any more with anything, as long as its covering the deck and it's fluffy you should be GOLDEN. I've had 3 straight days of perfect vapes.

On another subject just now I switched flavor for the 4th time (trying all my flavors on this thing since it arrived) this time, instead of replacing the cotton (only been used since yesterday afternoon) I ran it under really hot tap water for 2 minutes, squeezed it out, ran it through the hot tap water again, squeezed it on some dry paper towels and I blow dried it. Reset my fluffed up wick on the deck, primed with my new flavor, put everything together, refilled and I only got a minute bit of flavor creep for the first 2 or 3 hits. Great success!

Elastic bands, the big ones if you have em. One around the device, the other around the Kayfun. They should give you the best grip to twist them apart.

I'll be interested in seeing if anyone finds any discrepancies in the wick slots. I remain skeptical, but anything's possible, I suppose.
Today's CNC machines are extremely consistent.
I have 5 KfLs, bought at different times, from 3 different suppliers. 1 from Vaperev, 2 from Intaste, and 2 from Cloud9. With similar set ups (micro coil/cotton), all perform equally well.

And we are talking about German manufacturing here. As a mfg professional, I can vouch they don't make crap. :)

BTW, I haven't tried the bottle suck method yet. Haven't had a need to. But I will when I do. :D

Ok. I know I no longer feel like I need to buy syringes. I hope the Alien Vision bottles work just as well. Waiting for my vapemail. Should receive my mod tomorrow and my Boba's and GJ on Friday.

Edit: Boo just checked my tracking. The AVE order will arrive on saturday. No fishing with Boba's in my tank. Gonna have to hunt King Mackarels with Mt Baker 555. At least I'll have my new Mod to carry around. :)

Well i finally think I got my KFL working the way it should. I did a few things different.

Originally in was using 60/40 and it was working decent...I then tried my 100% VG because others said they used it with no problem....so I went back to the 60/40

Originally I thought the 4c oring was bad so I replaced it with a replacement.... That seemed to of helped before.... This time I put the original back in

After watching vapedivrrs video I placed my wick right above the channels before putting the chamber on.... I did the opposite and pulled my wick up, screwed on chamber then tucked the cotton wick after.

So basically to get mine working....

Original 4c oring
60/40 juice instead of 100vg (I work in the cold, VG juice gets really thick)
And I placed the wick down above the channels AFTER screwing the chamber on.

Wick density and length is all the same as vapedivvrs video but those 3 things seemed to make a huge difference

I spent the first 6 or so weeks trying to keep my wicks pushed away from the juice inlets, thinking that they would block them. It's only recently that I quit doing that, now I place my wicks right across the channels and my dry hits vanished.

Here is a post from turbocad6 that helped me...
guys, those channels puff up with juice when you draw, kind of like the squonking of a reo, if there is no wick right there to suck up this swelling up of juice by the little outlets then the juice will just be sucked back into the tank when you stop your draw and you will get NO feed, if wick is there, and juice is sucked up, then when you stop drawing it can't suck the same juice back in so it sucks air back in, if you're not getting a rising air bubble on just about every draw then you are not wicked properly, don't keep the wick away from the hole, keep it right there to suck up any swell up of juice from it. if you put way too much, THAN you could seal off these orifices well enough that the tank won't even see the suction, so don't over stuff it, but def wick right at the feed holes. after getting my full sized kayfun I now realize how much more room you have, the mini is easy t use too much wick and seal up the tank but the full sized kayfun and the light have huge wells, don't be afraid to get some wick right in there, it's the only way it'll feed, otherwise the same juice just goes in and out, in and out, and never feeds the coil

Pbusardo is now playing with micros and cotton. Here is a post with pictures. See how much cotton he's using and not complaining about dry or burnt hits..

Hmmm.. it won't let me link to the page. anyway.. go to tasteyourjuice.com and scroll down a bit to see what he says and his pictures.

Ok, so i guess there is some fresh lite users here. i have posted a few pictures of my micro coil builds & cotton wicks. I will post them again.. Starting with the coil 30g or 28g kenthal wire, wrapped on a 1/16 drill bit. Cotton ball wick, from walmart, 100% cotton. I was using silika and eco before with a hand wrapped coil. Works well, but the micro+cotton i like better.

Found a spot near some coral heads that is swarming with Kings and Bonitos. Pulled 4 kings and 2 bonitos last weekend with 30 year old Rapala lures. Got like 60lbs of round King cuts straight down the spine and 4 decent Bonito fillets. Needless to say me, my parents, the in-laws and my neighbors got some good eating! :)

My wicks look identical to this if not spot on. After reading where to place the ends I've had zero issues with the amount of cotton used. I only roll the very end to be able to start it through the micro, and trim that rolled part off. I really don't roll any other part of the cotton; add a little form for easy pulling and trim and soak.
