Yep. The Squape is a good one! I think I like it even better than the kayfun Lite.

used mesh for a long time in my gennys before moving to ceramic and now to cotton. I did try the mesh once in the kaylite and found the flavor pretty close to the cotton but preferred the slight more intensity of the micro coil compared to the standard wrap. but the mesh does give a very clean taste that is hard to beat. what will be interesting to find out from you is if, at all, does the juice darken from the mesh? in a genny its different in that the juice is in constant contact with the wick so after a while the juice will get slightly burnt or gets darker from this contact. now in the kayfun its a little different in that the mesh doesn't really touch the juice directly so it may not contaminate the juice like in a genny but depending on how much you oxidize the mesh it may still do this. your build is good and gives another option to this wonderful device, let me know if you notice any of your juice darkening from the oxidized mesh, usually if this happens the flavor is reduced towards the last 1/3 tank. if you do notice this I would recommend not oxidizing your mesh as much as you did, tbh you really don't need this much oxidation in the first place, if your getting great flavor now with a slightly charred wick it would be better if the wick was only pulse oxidized to start with.

The juice in the tank isnt changing in color at all. The bits of cotton on the tips of the wick do turn pretty dark but the rest of the cotton is clear as it usually is on a straight micro/cotton build. Been goin on 3 tanks now with the same juice and cotton wicks and the flavor has remained constant. The one thing I do notice is (taking into consideration that I fixed the aforementioned hotspot on my coil) that if I do a hit longer than like 5 or 6 seconds a burnt taste comes out at the end of the hit. The next short hit is perfect though.
I'll try a less oxidized wick next time. Did it to ensure that I didnt get any shorts since the wick does rest on the corner of the screw heads
that's good to know that the juice stays clear. as for hot spot issues, that's a hard thing with this device and mesh. I definitely know about hotspots and mesh for sure. with a genesis its not to bad because you can open it up and prod the wires to fix it, but with the kayfun its an ordeal. im sure the next time you take apart the device you will find either a slightly loose coil or a slightly tight coil, and im sure you will find it and fix it and it will be fine. if you still get inconsistent hits or slight hot spots you add a little cotton around the mesh, before you coil it, it may be a little more consistant that way. also the higher the resistance the less chance of these hot spots arising. when I was doing mesh in gennys, the most hot spots arose with lower resistances and less wraps
I think when I get my futura dna-20 I might try this squape. I was thinking of maybe another k-lite but have heard good things about the squape. how is the air draw compared to the lite?
Yep, I might try this one in my next build... already had been experimenting with many builds for sometime now√
Question about up-keep. My KFL is getting a few micro scratches from daily use. I have good quality metal polish for the stainless steel and aluminum metals on my boat, I suppose I could use that on my KFL to restore it from time to time without killing myself inhaling polishing fumes. Thoughts?
Heh, I like how it looks so much I'd like for it to keep looking sharp as much as possible. This is the same for me with watches and the like until they're a year old and I don't care so much.
I messed up the top cap on my Neme Clone trying to pry off the kick ring using towels and some big pliers. Scratched the kick ring's threads making it unusable and I made a small gouge on the lip of the top cap.![]()
Have you tried this yet?
I hear ya, this thing is built like a tank (pun intended). I like going to bars and restaurants and just standing my mod on the table, it turns into a conversation piece every time. And I carry little disposable silicone covers to let people take a vape on it and most get blown away and start asking all sorts of questions but back down when I tell them this particular device is $200+ to get started if you don't have anything. I then point them towards EVODs Pro-Tanks and Ego batteries. Have gotten 3 people to switch that way.
I even gave my number to a bartender that was asking all sorts of questions he called me 2 days later and I sent him a few links and he just ordered everything I told him to order.
