Forgive me for saying this fellas...but.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it? That sort of thinking would still have us using Protanks or some dreadful other clearo, carto, etc...

I also have been using the same coil for about 4 weeks, and just rewicking it, if I ever do need to rebuild, I will try one of the other styles of builds, plus I still only have one right now, mabe if I had a few more to play with, I would try other types of builds.

IMHO all the problems suggest an issue or issues with the mod and not the DNA. Sounds to me like a battery contact issue or similar.

Just out of curiosity what battery/batteries were you using?

From talking to you earlier it sounds like it was slapped together rather sloppy. I have built a fair share of DNA20 mods and the only issues I have had have been self inflicted or components other than the DNA.

I hope the futura people get you fixed up!

been using aw/imr 18650- 1600mah batts. and are fairly new, maybe 2 months at the most. when the tubes are all tightened there is no play in the tube at all. but I agree, the issue seems to be with the connection rather then the chip. they are sending me postage for me to send it back, they also said (after I contacted them) that they were replacing all the earlier mods that were sent out. so im sure they were rushing to get these out because they were so behind, some were kind of rushed a little to much.

Mine came unaligned and it vapes like freight train and doesn't make a sound other than the sweet snap, crackle, and pop of the juice turning to vapor. As far as I'm concerned, it has only one direction to go and it aint up.

That's the problem I had, Bronze. I lined my KFL up and now it won't screw in far enough on the vamo threads and wabbles. Fits fine on the Provari, so it'll stay there till the end of the tank.

Can't really tell if the air flow is better or not.

You might want to try a little less cotton and letting it soak at least a couple of hours before using. Cotton swells more that silica and if you have a setup that starts fine and then tapers off it might be because the wick has swelled enough to start it choking at the coil a little.

That seems to bey problem on all my builds so far.. First build tonight in KFL 28g 11 @ 1.5ohm wraps and for the first hour taste was awesome.. Now it's still great vapor but taste is somewhat muted.. Think you nailed it for me.. Next wick thinner for sure.. Thanks

ok this is the dremel bit I used, sorry I don't have a better pick but it looks just like this but with the rest of the shaft too:)

there are other things you could use, dremel makes a little ball end carbide too. my advice is to measure the orifice, you can do a card or paper cutout showing you the exact profile you have now so you can then go and check it as you massage it, this is a good gage as to how much material you remove... you don't want to remove much, what you are removing is almost not visable to the naked eye which is why I suggest measuring or making a template so you can know when you've opened it up a sliver. all your doing here is recalibrating the kayfun for more flow but you def don't want to overdo it, you can always go back and massage a little more if need be... also if you do wind up going a little too much you can then adjust the flow back a bit in your build by stuffing a little extra wick into the wells.

don't worry too much about minor slips, if you touch the threads a bit you won't really hurt anything but this doesn't mean be careless either, just try to massage the channels a bit and keep measuring against what ever you use to gage the original... many things can be used for this, you an even stuff a piece of tin foil in the orifice to take the shape and then use this piece as a gage as you do it, you only want to add a hair to the orifice size and your only machining the vertical channel that goes up into the chamber along the threads, no need to open up the horizontal channel on the lower deck, it's already larger than the vertical which is the limiting factor here

****************************I'm editing this to add a quote that I put a few posts down but it's important enough that it really should be part of this post*********************************

Thanks turbo! Not sure I have the balls to mod my only one, but in the event I pick up another one, can I send it to you for modification?

So i'm going to take the plunge into RBA's :D This being new to me, I already understand the Kay Fun's are difficult to find but I would like to know who are some of the reputable vendors for a genuine Kay Fun? I just want to make sure if I find one I'll know it's from someone dependable. Also, is there a huge difference between the Kay Fun Lite and their other models? I'd be willing to spend the extra cash to get the better RBA but I'd rather save some money if the difference isn't really insane. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated, thank you!

I found InTaste to have the best prices and ship times. They have a VAT tax but it gets removed when you place the order. VapeRev also sells the Kayfun Lite as does Cloud9. But InTaste was the best price and delivery for me. I think the Kayfun 3.1 and mini have extra bells and whistles. Not sure I would pay the extra money. The KFL is perfect.

Called Kayfun Lite Plus these days (added an adjustable air flow). Kayfun Lite plus - InTaste

You'll need wick and wire too. Need help with that?

IMO get the kayfun lite. My friend got the plus and honestly I like mine better, that is, until they can get a higher air flow rate. I feel like my kfl has more airflow than the plus, however, I did not build his coil and wick so that could be the problem. I got mine on eBay brand new for like 100$ a while back. I also recommend the m-tank for non corrosive juices. If you get the kfl or plus, you will need the m-tank for the kayfun 3.1 that's like 30$. But it looks so much better!

All my own opinion. I know everyone has their preferences and experiences. :) let us know when you decide! You can't go wrong between the kfl and kfl plus. I imagine their identical aside from airflow, however my experience says otherwise.

Can you even find a non-plus anymore? Ebay? Sure those aren't knockoffs?

Sadly, I don't think you can from a reputable site, and there are so many clones now it's almost UN safe to buy from eBay if you are searching for a real one. I guess I'd find a reputable US site. Lucky for me my local shop sells them :p

I actually like the non-plus more. Glad I have 2 of them!

Wish I had two. I'm curious what they will come up with after the kfl plus surge. Dual coils? Maybe remove some of the top cap that adds all that height and weight? A larger chimney tube? Hmmm

New to KFL.........Has anyone else had to drop their Nic level when using a KFL? I normally use 12mg in Genny's and 6 mg in Drippers but most of my 12mg juice is a little too harsh, too much throat hit. I know some of it depends on the juice becasue a few of my 12mg juice are perfect but most of them are just too strong for me in the KFL. I am going to try 9 mg.

vaped gennys for a long time before using the kayfun. for me it seemed about the same nic wise. are you using micros in the kayfun? were you using micro's in the genesis? I do think micros produce some great flavor but they are slightly warmer then a traditional wrap, maybe this is the difference.

This one here on ebay sure looks like the real deal. It doesn't say it's a clone but for the price, it's got to be! Even so.. it sure is tempting

edit... disregard that.. I just saw where it says it's a clone. But it looks like a nice clone.

It looks like intaste.de has the real kayfun lite plus in stock right now :)

It's not a US seller though, how long would shipping be
