I have had the Russian 91% for some time now and picked up a KFL+ today from my local vapor store.

I do like the KFL+ but not near as much as my Russian 91%. The included drip tip with the o-ring set up just wiggles like a loose tooth in the connection for it. All 3 examples the store had did this. I don't know why they didn't put the threaded channel and adapter sleeve on this. Also the airflow control is a sick joke. On mine the draw was super tight, I had to take the airflow screw out and lost it already because it's so damn small. Turns out I ran some wire up the air channel and there was a blockage I cleared out. Now with the airflow totally open it was too light so I had to use my spare airflow screw which was a bit of a chore to get back in with that tiny screw.

I can't really adjust the airflow how I'd like because that airflow screw sticks out when loosening the draw and my tank sits totally flush on my vanilla mod, so it's either slightly too tight or take out the screw and way too light of a draw. Really a poor design IMHO. Especially with flush fitting mods being so popular.

Just to nitpick, the KFL+ cost me a good bit more than my Russian 91% but you'd never know it from the boxing and accessories! The Russian came with a slick, very well thought out box that had a much better presentation and the mini screw driver included and tons of extra parts. The KFL+ came in a simple cheap box with a baggie of one extra set of screws and o-rings.

svoemesto is the originator of the design, but the Russian is doing in better for less money I'm sorry to say.

does your russian 91% or KFL+ whistle when you draw in air?

I must have lucked out. I've had my KFL+ for about 2 weeks now and although it did whistle for the first couple of days, it doesn't now, and a little juice on the o-ring around the drip tip must have caused it to swell enough reduced the wiggle by 95%. I'd planned to wrap a tiny bit of dental floss in the groove and replace the o-ring over top but now I don't have to.

It performs so well that I ordered another one yesterday and hope it gets here soon! I checked out the Russian but I just don't like the look of it or like others have said, that it just wouldn't compliment any of my devices.

The extension parts to convert to 10ml called to me too and should be here next week. My current cotton wicks seem to last fine for 4 - 5 fills (I'm on my 3rd but really only because it was time to start over with fresh juice) so I'm not too worried about having to change mid-tank.

I keep trying to tempt His Highness with one but he's just thrilled that he's inheriting all my gennys. ;)

Boil it donnah. But not the plastic segments, insulator, or o-rings!!! Take those off. I've boiled o-rings before and got away with it but I would not chance it. I've also boiled plastic segments/tanks (accidentally) and those got distorted from the boiling. Not sure about the insulator but I'd take that out too. Just boil metal parts.

I've had my Russian 91% for about a month and absolutely love it. Wanted another, but it is nowhere to be found (out of stock everywhere). So... I pulled the trigger this morning and ordered the original, a Kayfun Lite + from Vaperev. Went ahead and got the o-ring kit, a replacement plastic tank section and a long plastic tank section. I should be ready for anything. Now the waiting begins.

The WAE is a sweet piece. :vapor:

I've bought 3 new KFL+ and 2 make a whistle and 1 doesn't whistle, i'm going to make a video and send it to vaperev showing the difference in whistle / draw.. so annoying.. :(

I bought 2 original KFL and they never made this type of whistle sound. I really hope the Russian 91% that's coming next week doesn't whistle because i'm going to use that with my WAE.. fingers crossed...

And here are some pics of my build and set up waiting to place my order for the KFL nano kit tomorrow so I can use a different drip tip with my nano tank :]

Does my build / set up look okay? wick placement okay? coil height? thanks guys!

I need to find another kayfun lite. UN used, brand new. I really don't want the plus

-Sent from outer space using DNA20 and Kayfun Lite

I wish they kept everything about the KFL and just fixed the leaking problem with the screw and didn't mess with the AFC, then everything would have been perfect :'(

At this point I think it would be pretty rare to find a brand new kayfun lite. All the stores sell the plus version now and everyone who bought one, used it.

I love my KLite, arrived here in July. Polished nano kit on it, matches the nem perfect. Last accessory will be the nem hybrid adapter... But i am in no hurry, way to much gear to keep me happy. Squape arrived today, traded my OEM 69 mod for it.

Started with 3 KLites, down to 2. All from Intaste, great site.

Question for those of you that are having the whistling problem. (I'm not, could just be lucky). When you received it, did you give it a complete wash with soapy water before using it?

I am finding lately, even with high end attys and mods, that there is a certain amount of machine oil or other artifacts of the manufacturing process that need to be scrubbed away. I have started doing a soapy water scrub with an old toothbrush on everything I receive. I have an ultrasonic cleaner, so I also remove the o-rings and run it thru that for 15-20 minutes.

Im glad i waited before taking the dive for th klite+, after looking over the design of its predecessors i ask myself, why didnt they put the air control screw on the side like the ES or klite clone. I cant see myself unscrewing the atty every time i want to adjust air flow.

I've got several kfls and a r91%.. sometimes they whistle, sometimes they don't. Sometimes if it's whistling and the air hole in on top.. I turn it over and the whistling stops. It's never been consistent or bad enough to bother me.

As for machine oil.. I didn't have that problem with my first kfl or the one I got in a trade. The R91% had a machine oil taste but after 3 washings it finally went away.

This last order I received yesterday had two kfl+s (ordered one for someone else) One has been washed and washed and the machine oil taste is still there but not as strong after the last wash. With the second new one, the machine oil taste wasn't there after it's first initial washing.

I guess I'm going to have to boil that one with the taste. :glare:

I find boiling solves all ills.
