No need for that at all. Ask away in there. Anyone is more than willing to help each other out. There are no boundaries, we talk about other mods, juices, socks and shoes, anything. I haven't even used a protank since I went mech. I own all GP mods and a Nemesis clone. There is also a whole thread started by Chadsmo about the very soon to be released Heron. My kayfun is my all day every day companion.

I just got my first mechanical mod and I am totally sold on them. I got a Poldiac clone and have put all my regulated mods to the side and use them very little now. I think I feel a mech mod buying adventure coming soon.
I will see you on the GP thread for sure.

I think the Kayfun Lites are one of the best tank systems available. I too want the new users to have success and be able to enjoy them to the fullest.

How is the weather up your way this week?? We had wind chills down to near zero last night and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I am sure it is much worst for you.

And, I do like my bubbles. If they are coming up from the bottom of a mug of cold beer.

Oh you know, run of the mill winter weather here. It was -40F with the windchill here this morning.

It was Freeeeeezzzing!!!

At it's worse it was more than -30F air temp here and -70F wind chill. Today only about a -40 wind chill here too so........ warming up?

If we had wind chills at near zero I'd be outside tanning in my mankini.

I feel for you guys having this brutal weather. With me being from the south I can not comprehend temps that cold. I was in Chicago back in the 90's on a business trip during January and it got down to about 18 below at night and about 1 or 2 below during the day along with the Windy City winds and I though I was going to freeze to death. We have the bad weather in the summer with high temps and humidity. The humidity is what makes our summers so bad.
Stay safe and hopefully it will warm up soon for you.

Well, I am on page 265...400 more to go...changed my wick tonite and is vaping flawlessly...still using the same coil that a friend built for me
And still vaping awesome!! I pretty much ran some cotton thru the wick , cut off the ends, and stuffed it down the side to the channel...no dry hit, no flooding!! Not intended to make DonnaH feel bad, lol, as on page 260 something, it seems she has got a wicking wick!! Either I am lucky or just being inexperienced and lucky, I have rewicked 3 times and no problems...maybe just not over thinking it!! We will see when I build my first coil and report back....back to reading and taking notes!!

Btw, Porter, I am only 30 minutes west of you and it is cold as &$&@&$&$!!!!!!

This winter hasn't been too bad so far, but February can be a bear. This week it's averaging around -20C but sunny, and LOTS of snow. We make the best of it by vaping beside a lovely warm fire, and beer may or may not be involved. :toast:

Yes, Zbeast08, you and I are the only ones from eastern NC that I have seen on this forum. It sure is cold tonight. I just ran out to drink a cup of coffee at Bojangles with some friends a couple of hours ago and I am not sure it was even worth it.
Which one of the Kayfuns do you have? Sounds like you have got it working good.
Do you have any good vape shops in Wilson? We have about three vape shops in Greenville, but I only go to one of them. This one I go to is opening up a new store(SmokeSmart) in Goldsboro on the 18th of this month in the new Walmart shopping center. The manager of this new store will be a guy named Chris. If you stop in there sometime tell him Billy said hi. He is teaching a coil building class this Friday night from 7 to 8 pm at the Greenville store.

Having lived the first 38 years of my life in Chicago, I can safely say it is one of the most brutal places to live in the winter. Not only do the temps get ridiculously low, the worst part is it is a wet cold. Nothing goes to the bones quicker than a wet cold. My sis lived in Minny for five years and while the temps are even slightly colder there, she said it wasn't as bad. I finally wised up and moved to NC. :)

How do you like NC?
I used to go to Chicago every other year in November to attend the Pharmaceutical Packaging Show at the convention center. I stayed uptown in the Drake hotel and loved to visit there. Really nice retail stores on Michigan Ave and some good places to eat steaks. Used to always go to Blue Chicago for some blues music.

As much as liked the all metal look, I think I'm really digging the all frosted polycarb tank cover look even more:

Minus the chimney top cap seal all is going swimmingly well with my KFL+...I get a few drips from the drip tip hole when inverted too fill...I removed the o-ring and cleaned everything....Same o-ring back in and slowed but did not stop the leak...I'll try again in the am when I refill...

All my juice is DIY at @ 10/12 % flavor...Flavor is so pronounced I'll have to drop my percentages and I'll even throw some no flavor together...It's at 80/20 and wicking beautifully, even when chain vaped...

Porter I'm between Fayetteville and Raleigh...I have spent many days down in Greenville...A night such as this makes me yearn for one of those 100* and 100% humidity days....Well maybe 80* and 50%...

El Dee,
Good to meet another member from eastern NC on this forum.
Sorry to hear you are having some leaking problems with the Kayfun. They can be a little fussy to get the tanks 'sealed" up good and tight. Make sure all your O-rings are good with no nicks on them at all. If your tank is new, put a little juice on the O-rings. The juice will lubricate the o-rings so everything goes together good without the O-rings binding and help them with the sealing. Any time I take my tanks apart and wash them I lube the O-rings with a little juice. Don't fill it all the way full, leave a little air space in the tank. There was a guy in another thread on the forum tonight that had a Russian 91% that he had just got and he had some leaks. After working with his O-rings he got it solved.
I never have leaks in any of my three Kayfun Lites unless I accidently put my hand over the air hole when I take a draw/puff. However for the last couple of days I have had the two that I carry with me when I leave the house leak a little bit. I don't understand what is going on, but it must be the cold temps we are having.
I had to cut my nic level from 18mg to 12mg when I got my first Kayfun Lite. I would puff away on it like I did the Protanks and I would get light headed with the 18mg in the Kayfun Lite.
I too am ready for some warm weather.

I noticed some leakage this past summer when going from cold, air conditioned spaces to 85+ degrees. It didn't last very long once the KFL acclimated, but it did happen. The manual mentions that abrupt temp changes can cause this.

And I've discovered that one of my cola flavored juices will expand the 4C o-ring during the 2nd tank. Fortunately, somebody posted a link to a package of 100 o-rings that fit perfectly. 008 Silicone O-Ring, 70A Durometer, Red, 3/16" ID, 5/16" OD, 1/16" Width (Pack of 100): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
