SUNAVA... I had to go check on FB too. It is spelled with a single A.. Damn! All this time I thought you had AA in your name!

My lord. You have a heck load of patience
^Bingo.
Also forgot to mention, it is M-20/1 threaded and thus can be hybridized with those standardized mods like the Paps, Vela, GUS etc.
i posted a couple days ago about a coil that i was messing with, this photo is of the aqua but i have one in my kayfun as well. this coil is pretty neat and hits pretty hard. what i like about it is that it seems to increase the TH on juices that lack. its a 3/3/3 wrap. the outer wraps are a 2.20mm and the inside is a 1.30mm diameter. i like the nano middles for the heat and like the outers for wicking. i thread a small piece of hemp or cotton all the way thru the coil then down to the channels just like a regular set up but my wick is long enough to make a U-turn from the channel and back up to the coil, i then insert the wick ends into the outer wraps on both ends. http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r646/divrr033/coil2_zpsb6a7c092.jpg
So I just picked up a KFL+ clone, hoping to love it and convince myself to purchase an original. While I've got a few gripes, I can definitely say this is a great tank. I've been fully engulfed in mechs and RBA's for about a year now, and somehow just recently stumbled onto the Kayfun's/KFL's. I tried quite a few gennie tanks over the last year or so, and never found one that didn't have something that relegated it to my vape drawer.
I can finally say I'm done dicking with gennies, thinking "maybe THIS one will work for me"
Now to do a bit of modding... air hole, maybe juice paths, and probably a nano kit.
Hooray for the Kayfuns, a tank that actually WORKS!

That, sir, is bloody magnificent.

Very interesting! Do no notice that the different diameters of the wraps cause different coil heating?
Most of the videos I have watched have mentioned that when dry burning or heat cycling a new coil, you want to see a consistent inside to outside glow on the coil. This always struck me as odd as it almost like this behavior indicates a "hot spot" of sorts in the middle of the coil. I wonder if having a variable diameter like your example would result in more even heating of the coil.
I concede that this property of coils may not matter in any way at all. I am not what I would consider a seasoned RBA builder yet despite my successes with the KFL.![]()
it does seem like it heats up more at one time come to think of it compared to a standard coil, but not by much. the issue i initially had was that the wick would dry out more in the center, maybe because of the extra heat. this is why i added the extra wick tails in the outer coils only. now the coil gets proportional juice. the only reason i had done this was for one of my juices, its very lite on TH. being that the TH was lacking i had tried nano coils in the kayfun to try to increase this but found the wicking just couldn't keep up, so i tried this and it worked.
Hey all. Having some issues with wicking on my KFM and KFL. This is a new problem, as I've had my KFL for a few months. I'm having to prime it throughout the tanks to keep from getting burnt hits. Here's what I've got going.
KFM- 1.9ohm; 1/16th micro coil; P&C yarn with 1 strand removed. I've tried lengthening wicks, shorter wicks, pressing wicks to sides before I put the evaporation chamber on.
KFL - 2.0ohm; 5/64ths micro coil; P&C yarn full strands. Again, I've tried lengthening wick and shorter wick. Before this week, I just trimmed the wicks to reach the deck, stuffed them down and vaped away.
All juice is 70/30 pg/vg. I have been using new (to me) juice from Ahlusion in both.
I get a great 4 or 5 hits, then it starts to taste burnt if I don't prime it. Anyone have a clue? I'm at a loss.
I will have to give this a shot (I am a glutton for frustration, which it sounds like wrapping this will be without a special jig). My go-to vape lacks a substantial TH as well and maybe this will help in that regard.
And my personal thanks to you divrr, your contributions on this thread have been very helpful to me personally.

thanks biddy. the coil I actually have in my kaylite is just 27g, non twisted. that one is a 5/5/5 wrap and comes out to about 1.6ish ohms. I use that kayfun on the futura dna 20 mod at 18 watts. what device might you be trying this out on?
What gauge wire?
Your coils are smaller, and a little higher resistance than mine. I found on the KFL, that a 3/32" wrap with cotton gave me room for plenty of wick, trimmed to touch the deck, wick perpendicular to the posts.
