We are soon to see KF Lite pack and screwdrivers f/s on vape Rev.
its true, a standard res coil on a micro does kind of feel like a sub-1 coil on a genny. but as you know rule I have always thought that a thicker wire has a better flavor, maybe its just in my head, but I always felt that as the gauge decreases the flavor increases. now when I was doing the ceramic wicks I got into the 26 & 27g wires, and these even had better flavor then the 28g. when I went to the micro's I did try a standard res coil with 30g and it did seem true, this coil seemed to equal a sub-1 coil on a genny. but because im always tinkering, I had to try the thicker gauges, and when I did, there was no going back. I did even try the 26g at standard resistances on the micro's, way to many wraps.
Is the o-ring for the fill screw an InTaste add-on also?
FWIW Digital Steam also sent the keychain and the extra o-rings and screws.
I just sold a mod for almost a grand. I was lucky enough to get a caravela some time ago, the funny thing was I hardly ever used it because I just didn't like the button. just like the button on your mod I just always thought it was a pain to screw and unscrew it every time you vape. I know that when its out and you set the mod down the spring is taut enough to hold the mod but one time it did depress the button and the mod fired, from then on I always locked the button everytime I set it down, that got to be a hassle. anyways I made about 700 on the deal. caravela prices are crazy.

I deeply LOVE my GP Lux! Never, ever have I locked it's switch, except while on the move and it's in the pocket. I vape, put it down, vape again and repeat...
And now with the K-Lites, we don't have to bother placing our mods upright at all... I keep them all horizontallyPick-up, vape, place it down whatever way I like, vape, put it down and repeat...
I have an AGA-T2 on my Nemesis, and the switch is iffy with an 18650. With an 18490 or 18350, it's safe. But I always feel like I should lock it with the big battery installed.
that's funny because one of the effects of silica for me is a scratchy throat. anyways everyone is different, with different tastes, and the micro probably isn't for everyone, it hits hard and fast with more heat and flavor, so its something that you may not be used to. maybe try to reduce the wattage, it maybe just to strong for you.
I'm using 30g with 8 or 9 wrapsHere's where I got mine. You can get longer lengths if you want for not much more. Or different sizes. I also have and use 28g
Very noob question... I'm looking to get a KFL, and was just wondering what gauge kanthal wire I would need when going with a micro coil and cotton setup? I only have a zmax v3 so I should be looking at 1.5 - 2 ohm? Thanks.
I'm finding that I'm having to go lower wattage with the KFL with a micro coil and cotton. Fixing the bad loop in my coil worked but it still doesn't want to play with my roller. 8 watts is the sweet spot for me with the particular juice I have in it. That's fine though as I've reserved the roller for genesis/mesh anyway. I just installed a micro coil with cotton in my speroid and it's working great so far.
On a side note.. after not being able to see the bad loop in my coil yesterday (until I saw if magnified in a pic)... I rummaged through my glasses box and found a pair of high powered reading glasses and that really made a difference in the ease of wrapping coils and getting proper coil to wick contact. It helps to be able to actually see what I'm doing LOL![]()
I think the wire size affects response time. I don't know about flavor. For me, it's a matter of getting the response I like. For example, I like 28ga on my mechanicals; but 28ga is worthless, IMO, on vv devices, like the Provari. 30ga works much better. For me, it also has to do with the space you have to work with. I'm running about 10 wraps of 30ga on my KfL, when setting it up for a Provari. If I were to use 28 or 27ga, I'd need 18 or 20 wraps, in order to get similar resistance. I haven't experimented with setting up a KfL for a mechanical, yet.
Yeah, Caravella resale prices are nuts. I've never tried chasing one down, because I never flip anything. In fact, it's probably something I should do; because I have stuff around here gathering dust, that I never use.
ok so your saying that you using the roller and k-lite for the micro coil and using it at 8 watts and not seeing the results. this means your coil resistance is around 1.6Ω. how is the roller with voltage loss do you know? it is quite possible that in all actuality your not really vaping at 8 watts, if the voltage loss is a lot it could be more like 6 watts. I haven't checked the v-loss on the k-fun yet so im not to sure on that but some mods do have a lot of v-loss, that with the resistance of the k-fun and the actual batterys who knows. the older your batterys the more internal resistance they have, so as a whole combination of things maybe you just need to up the volts or lowering the resistance. but did you say that you had a silica set-up on the same mod and it was a lot better? the roller is a mechanical mod yes?

What I'm saying is that I don't care for it on the Roller (yes, it's a mech) because it's too much voltage/wattage for me. My coil is 1.5 and I'm using it on a provari at 3.5v. It seems to taste better with regulated 8 watts. It's alright once the batts depletes some (using the mech) but with a fresh batt, it's a little too hot for my taste.
no ill affects by laying on their sides?
When I first received my 2 K Lites, I laid one down on its side over night attached to a mod. I forget which mod, but that is not important. The next morning, I picked it up and it was fine. Didn't really know what I was expecting. No leaks, no gurgling, nothing.
Since then, I confidently take the K Lites everywhere without a care or concern. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my retired gennies.

well that does make more sense then. yes the micros are pretty potent.
This is exactly why I don't plan on getting into gennies. I don't see the advantage, the vapes are comparable from everything I've read but I can put one in my pocket and one I can't. If anybody wants to let me borrow a genny to prove me wrong I'm open to trying but if I'm going to choose between two RBA's that do the same job, I'm going to pick the one that doesn't drool and I'm going to make that pick 10 out of 10 times.
