thanks buddy, might have to give it a go. I know I will love the taste(no way I could ever forget) but how about the heat sink? when I go and vape my ceramic gennys now I have to get used to the primer puffs again, the one thing with the cotton that I have got used to is the instant hit.

With tightly spaced coils, 28g at .8ohms and a ~2.5mm wick diameter at the coil, its instant on. No primer puff needed. Been chain vaping this setup for days straight. Its rock solid....:) Also with the decrease wicking distance (vs a genny tank wick), I have not had a dry hit yet.

If it could fill the juice itself, it would be perfect.

Just rebuilt the coil with a 27g Kanthal micro with 11 wraps measuring at 1.0 ohms with cotton wick. Also put on the new full clear tank.

Alright, I have had my Kayfun Lite for a week now. I've been using 32 gauge Kanthal and 2mm silica. Everytime I build it, I've been getting a funny taste out of my KFL. I have washed the tank several times now and it does not seem to be a short. Anyone else have this issue?
Wicking issues?

I finally got time to experiment with Ohms. I built two micro's, one at 1Ω and the other at 2.2Ω (I was hoping for 1.7-1.8Ω) and tried to vape both at 15watts. That's a bit hard to do because I have no way to test load drop on the mech. I used cotton yarn, which I'm really like if for no other reason than ease of use, thread thru coil, cut to length and done !!!

I had a hard time differentiating between the two builds. Flavor and vapor production seemed close to identical. I think I favored the low ohm but that could be because that's what I've been vaping for so long. I think both are a win :)

Here's the 2.2Ω ~

I literally, just ran out to the mailbox and discovered my 2mm ekowool came! Maybe this will help with it.

Untorched silica gives me a slightly funny taste for ~2ml or so, then its fine. Eko does the same, but for ~1ml. I'm currently using twik (boiled, can't torch it), and get both the eko-y and a cotton-y taste for ~1.5ml.

Well, I've had my KFL since monday. I've tried several builds now using micro/cotton and normal/silica. I used 28awg with both builds and didn't get the results I was expecting. I was expecting it to be better than my genesis atty's. I'm not saying it was bad but was not giving me the same flavor and vapor I get from my DID. I even get a better vape from my divers and RH killer. I know from all the good things being said about it, I probably need to get the build right. I think that's what's bugging me the most about the KFL.

Everything from it's solid built to the ease of setting it up. I just can't seem to set it up right. Maybe I was expecting too much from it. I really don't want to say I'm disappointed with it. My last build I decided to use 30awg and silica like I normally do with my other rba/rda devices and it was a little improvement. I think my biggest problem is the muted flavors or the flavor not being the same in other devices (as in not as good).

I haven't given up on my KFL yet but it definitely won't be replacing my diver, DID, or AC9 right now. Hopefully I can get it working as good as some of you out there.

There are so many ways to set up the Kayfuns. That's the fun of them. I've settled on the micro/cotton ball build. The trick is in using the right amount of cotton for the wick.
In all honesty, if you have a well set up DID or AC9, it's a pretty high bar to jump over. I love the Kayfuns. I have 5 Lites. But I haven't abandoned my mesh genys for them.
