My KFL impressions after a couple weeks with it -

Just for reference here are some of the RBAs I have owned -

Silica based:
GG Odysseus
GP Spheroid
GG Ithaka
Protank
Vivi Nova
Evod

Genesis based:
Z Atty Pro
Zenesis
RSST
AGA-T
AGA-S
Line SS
DID (the current king of vapor and flavor in my arsenal)

Drippers:
Various Igos (s,l,w)
Nimbus

Setup - the one thing I absolutely love about the KFL over the GG style silica based attys is the ease of setup. I'd say the Spheroid is just as easy but with less juice capacity of course.

Flavor - I find it performs much better with fruity flavors than with tobacco flavors in this regard. My 2 go-to tobacco flavors are quite muted in the KFL...this makes me sad. :(

Vapor - not as much as a dripper or a genny (esp. the DID) but the KFL produces an acceptable amount of vapor.

Throat Hit - the throat hit from the KFL for me is much drier than any other RBA I've tried....not sure why this is but no matter the juice, I get a dry scratchy throat after vaping the KFL (same with silica or cotton wick). I get this same dry throat from all silica based attys, but the KFL is to a higher degree. Gennys do not do this to me.

Juice Feed - seems to be hit-and-miss. I'll have a tank that wicks perfectly from beginning to end, then the next tank I'm constantly priming....dunno what's going on there.

Filling - kind of a hassle because you have to have a philips screwdriver nearby and a needle tip bottle, but doesn't really bother me since I don't fill when out and about.

Drip tip - the included drip tip doesn't work as well for me as a wider bore tip does, I get more vapor with the wider bore tips.

Construction - this thing is built like a tank, no complaints there.

After living with it for awhile, I think the KFL is just not for me. My DID (my all day atty) just works better, and for out-and-about I use an Ego twist + Evod which actually provides better VTF than the KFL, IMO.

My .02 cents.

Choice is what makes the world go around but I find the exact opposite as you. I get good flavor from my tobacco juice. I don't vape anything but tobacco juice and the craziest I get is RY4..

I get plumes of vapor.. So much so, that at times it's too much as I don't want a fog machine..

I get mega throat hit and I have found that the KFL is a nicotine delivery machine. I, along with many others, have to go down to a lower nic level with the KFL.. When I drip, I use 18mg but when I use the KFL I bump it down to 12mg..

Juice feed is highly dependent on the build. I have had good builds and bad builds. The juice flow is VERY dependent on how good or bad the coil and wick build is..

For reference I have had the following and I find that the KFL is hands down my go to RBA with large tank.

Ithaka
Z Atty Pro
Kayfun Lite
Diver
Grail
Cyclone
Immortalizer

And a few others that I am sure I am forgetting..

The KFL is an awesome RBA but it is very, very, very dependent on the coil and wick build.. Get that right and it's vaping bliss...

Yeah, I think the KFL just provides too much throat hit for my tastes.

Believe me, I have been through about a dozen or more setups in the KFL and I believe I "got it right"....I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong when I read all the glowing reviews here, I'm fairly certain I'm not. Like you said, choice is what makes the world go round. :)

Don't get me wrong, the KFL is a very very nice atomizer - but for the money, I expected more. When my Evod can provide pretty much the same vapor and flavor, something just ain't right. ;)

^That's exactly my take too on the K-Lites :)

I love my Kayfun Lites. The one thing they have in common with other types of rebuildable devices is that the quality of the vape depends entirely on the build. Case in point: As many variations as I've tried, I haven't been able to equal the quality of a micro coil/cotton build, with silica/conventional wick. Not that my silica builds are bad. They aren't. But these things really shine with micro/cotton.

Interesting. Very short time with my KFL so far, but... I've also found flavor to be muted, and have only tried "tobacco" type juices in it. Throat hit is almost non-existent. Which is a conundrum to me as to coil placement, but I'll favor more flavor over more throat hit.

I also don't like the stock drip tip, but for different reasons. After filling from both the top and bottom, I doubt I'll ever unscrew the fill hole again - to me, top filling is so much easier than using a syringe.

Juice feed hasn't been an issue at all. Never a dry hit, and the only time it flooded was when I caused it intentionally (finger over the air hole + hard draw = gurgle, gurgle).

Nic delivery doesn't particularly seem amplified or lessened.

Reference: I've mostly used carto tanks with Ikenvape Fusions (801 and 510). My only other rebuildable was a Ody clone (sold, the setup complexity ultimately just wasn't worth it to me). I refuse to use genesis-style. So far I'd still prefer a tanked 801 Fusion over the KFL, but I go through a carto every 4 days and I dislike adapters.

Filling from the top does not flood the crud out of it and cause massive leaking from the air hole for you?

I filled from the top once because I was lazy and man it was a disaster for me!

Nope, no problems at all. After topping off, I cover the air hole with my finger, screw the top cap partially on, turn the entire thing upside down (finger still over the air hole), then finish tightening the top cap. I read somewhere that is the recommended procedure for top-filling, can't remember exactly where now (manual, maybe?).

When I use 60/40 vg/pg, it's better to have the coil higher over the air hole. I learn this the hard way, juice was to thick and leaking out the side air hole, so I had to raise the coil up.

With 40/60 vg/pg, I have the coil closer to the air hole, the juice wick to fast. When it wasn't close to the air hole, I was getting dry hit.

Uh.. darn, i guess ill drop :2c:
My 1st LITE arrived in July. micro coil, 1.1 ohm, cotton wick. I have not changed coil, wick since build. over 30ml of Drakes "Punky Bruiser" Last week i put the clear tank on it. Still makes clouds of vape. PERFECT.
LITE #2 & #3 arrived, end of July.
LITE #2, same set up.. wicked poorly, trying Timeless Vapor "jedi juice" re wick, same.. let it sit a day.. Dry hits every few pulls... wt??
LITE #3, stays in the box till 8.13 + large mode tube, lots 0 spare o-rings & such.
LITE #2 build goes, 2 ohm micro coil. longer cotton tails. Drakes "vanilla trifecta", very nice. no dry hits.
NOTE. since July 8th vaping "Grenada" in my LITE with 1 ohm, 3mm silika. I had to stop, Grenada would swell my chimney o-ring. Then fluid would start to leak out the air intake.
LITE #3 build, micro coil 2.2 ohm (to high) cotton wick. no dry hits. Jamesons "Melon Medley", i have same in an ODY. This is LITE in large mode. Flavor is a little muted. Either its the long mode, or high coil ohm.
I vape Pluid, daily in a Stratus22 gennie, ceramic wick, flat wire @ 1 ohm. Great flavor & TH.
The above ramble, just gives choices to what is available. I am not done setting up LITE #3. #1 has been the best from the start. #2 is braking in very nicely. I am going to rebuild #3 LITE, micro coil.. near 1.1 ohm. coil at level with the top screw bottoms. cotton wick, like a mustache. Leave the large mode extension off. Little l8r today... Free time is good.

just received my KAYFUN LITE yesterday!! i completely forgot that i ran out of silica so i went to my coil graveyard and found some reusable 3mm silica and eko-wool! feels like i picked out a cigarette from an ash tray lol

first build: 1x fold 3mm silica, 2/3 wrap 28g kathal @ .69 ohms. best full flavored vape for about 20 minutes and then it floods and juice leaked out the air hole.

second build: no fold ekowool, 3/4 wrap 28g kathal @ .85 ohms. WOW!!! best vape ever so far and no leaks!! there is occasional gurgling but i figured out that i can vape the KL upsidedown and vape all the over-wicked juice and its back to vaping bliss!!

i knew there would be an increase in flavor but WOW... its so good! plenty of vapor too. the draw on the KL is absolutely PERFECT. not too airy and not to stiff. goldilocks moment....

I loved my KFL so much I got another! Been doing the figure 8 with 2mm ekowool and 30g @ 1.8 ohms. The best vape I have had so far on anything. No leaks even after being on it's side for a while.

You just have to make sure those juice channels are not blocked inside and it wicks and vapes like a champ. The first coil lasted 3 weeks, but I just had to get in there to rebuild to get some practice.

Now I'm looking into a mechanical mod with a kick to use with the KFL just to try something new.

Just got a Kayfun lite about a week ago. It ran great with a micro-coil with cotton. But I have been playing with ceramic wicks lately and thought I would give it a go for this atty. It took a bit of work, but I pull together a custom fit porous white ceramic wick. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Its has 28g hot wrapped .9Ω coil. The coil ID is ~2.5mm so its not quite a micro. Fits perfectly in the atty chamber. Vape is outstanding.

OK.... I'm ......! Filling up my KL just now and the screw driver slipped and the screw vanished into the ethers. @#$%#%&^*$(*($&@$^@#%@#$%#$%&^(*)^*)(&*#%^&@$$%!@#%@#%&%&*(^*( IT!!!

Can anyone give a link to where I can order and new screw? So upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

vaperev and intaste are out of stock of the spare parts kit. Cloud 9 will be open tomorrow morning 10am GMT, don't know if they have stock though.

In the meantime, I just measured it at 5mm total length (including head) by 2.3mm thread diameter. M2.3 isn't a normal size though, so try an M2.5?
