OK.... I'm ......! Filling up my KL just now and the screw driver slipped and the screw vanished into the ethers. @#$%#%&^*$(*($&@$^@#%@#$%#$%&^(*)^*)(&*#%^&@$$%!@#%@#%&%&*(^*( IT!!!

Can anyone give a link to where I can order and new screw? So upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ace Hardware has a pretty good selection of metric hardware. Take the kayfun with you, and see if they can match it up.

Just got a kayfun lite about a week ago. It ran great with a micro-coil with cotton. But I have been playing with ceramic wicks lately and thought I would give it a go for this atty. It took a bit of work, but I pull together a custom fit porous white ceramic wick. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Its has 28g hot wrapped .9Ω coil. The coil ID is ~2.5mm so its not quite a micro. Fits perfectly in the atty chamber. vape is outstanding.

This looks phenomenal! Could you elaborate on how this is done? What exactly is the material and where do you source it? How do you prep it (ie is it boiled, heated, soaked)? I have never seen anything like this but it appears that this would be an almost everlasting, washable, wicking dream. I want to do this. Please teach us your ways, wise one.

just received my KAYFUN LITE yesterday!! i completely forgot that i ran out of silica so i went to my coil graveyard and found some reusable 3mm silica and eko-wool! feels like i picked out a cigarette from an ash tray lol

first build: 1x fold 3mm silica, 2/3 wrap 28g kathal @ .69 ohms. best full flavored vape for about 20 minutes and then it floods and juice leaked out the air hole.

second build: no fold ekowool, 3/4 wrap 28g kathal @ .85 ohms. WOW!!! best vape ever so far and no leaks!! there is occasional gurgling but i figured out that i can vape the KL upsidedown and vape all the over-wicked juice and its back to vaping bliss!!

i knew there would be an increase in flavor but WOW... its so good! plenty of vapor too. the draw on the KL is absolutely PERFECT. not too airy and not to stiff. goldilocks moment....
So this awesome vape comes from on single strand of 2mm ekowool? Its weird, some people say they get more flavor from silica, I've been debating ekowool. Is it all the same? Where do you recommend I get it from? Thanks.

Postscript: When I pull on it hard to feed juice, and I over feed, I actually just let it sit upright, and it magically goes back into the tank. If it is gonna leak out of the air hole, I'll tip it slightly and let is sit. I knew you weren't supposed to shove wick into the air channels, but now, I don't even touch them. I push my wick only down a little, leaving a couple mm away from the bottom. Amazingly, it doesn't leak, unless I cover the hole and do a strong dry pull. That doesn't seem possible, I was sure it would leak.

Yeah, I think the KFL just provides too much throat hit for my tastes.

Believe me, I have been through about a dozen or more setups in the KFL and I believe I "got it right"....I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong when I read all the glowing reviews here, I'm fairly certain I'm not. Like you said, choice is what makes the world go round. :)

Don't get me wrong, the KFL is a very very nice atomizer - but for the money, I expected more. When my Evod can provide pretty much the same vapor and flavor, something just ain't right. ;)
I don't like the harsher/strong throat hits either and I was initially disappointed. I started wrapping tighter and tighter coils, and the throat hit got nice and smooth. Like, pretty darn tight coils, it is amazing that it wicks. I agree that an evod is basically a cheaper kayfun. Its all about having direct air flow, in my opinion. With the kayfun, I feel that you cannot tell exactly how much juice is in the chamber, like with the evod, because the air hole is raised. This gives you are larger margin or error, for getting juice in there, but sometimes I'm guessing, where with the evod, you immediately feel that juice coming in, and giving a slight spitting wet feeling.

I've found that even with the same coil build, the drip used makes a big difference in throat hit and vapor. IMO, the stock Kayfun tip opening is too small. The result is a strong throat hit, as opposed to a tip with a larger bore. It's the same principle as having too small of a vent hole in a genesis cap. The smaller the hole, the greater the throat hit, and the less the vapor. A larger bore tip makes a world of difference.

I agree. I forgot about that because I switched drip tips within the first hour of having it.

This really is not the right thread for wick making and I dont want to take it OT, but there is a thread that Scubabatdan started that . Its fairly long, but skip to the last couple of pages to see where things are at. I have a couple of posts there. There is also a lot of discussion of materials and techniques people are using.

its a fine line of the amount and density but once you get it you wont have any issues. this is a couple of pics
Okay so id really appreciate some help. I keep getting leaks from the air hole. I followed the amount of cotton like this and even made another with less and still no luck. It'll be good for maybe 10-20 draws then it'll leak non stop. Am I missing something? I make sure that even when the cotton is juiced, that it isn't blocking the channels. Am I using too little cotton that it won't keep up with how many draws I take? I don't suck hard when I take the draws either. Completely stumped here...

For those not having extra screw I 2nd rule62 go to Ace with kfl they should be able to hook you up. Also for those that have complained about filling from the bottom with a needle that's not needed! Every juice bottle I have I can place over fill hole push on tight squeeze and fill no needle needed.

I'm having the same issue with the last couple of wicks. The one before that was perfect but the current one gurgles and leaks constantly.

If you guys are getting leaks from the airhole, you dont have a proper seal in the atty. Either the components are not tight enough or an oring is outta place. A likely offending part is the o-ring that seals the chimney to the topcap. The oring should be sitting nicely in a recessed space in the topcap when you assemble and before you slide the chimney into the topcap hole.

Actually I think there is a siphon effect that can take place. I've noticed that I get no leaking but every once in awhile it does need a primer puff... If I over prime I'll get a leak and it will continue to leak until clear the air path.

I don't know for certain that is what's happening, just my best guess so far.

A week? Wow. Maybe cotton will do better than I feared. I was getting anxious reading about folks changing out cotton 2-3 times per day.

I've used the same cotton ball wick for a week and a half straight. I decided it was finally time to change it tonight. When I took the chamber off, the coil was black with gunk. I slid the wick out, did some dry burns to get the gunk off, rinsed the base in the sink and dry burned again. The coil is good as new. I threaded a new piece of cotton through the coil. First few vapes were awesome, then the dryness hit... took it apart and repositioned the wick ends in the chamber. This time, success... no dry hits so far. It only took me twice instead of four times this time! (yah.. I'm getting better LOL)

For me, it works when I place just enough of the wick tails into the hole, enough to touch the bottom but not block the channels. Cotton, when wet is heavy and dense and too much will block the juice channels so when I take a draw, I'm not drawing any juice up into the channels.

This last time, instead of filling from the bottom, I covered the air hole and pour juice from an open bottle directly into the device. I screwed on the top just enough for the threads to catch, flipped it upside down, released the air hole and finished screwing the top on.

I'm seeing a few posts about leaking through the air hole. This is one issue I haven't had (yet) but for those who have.. this was posted awhile back and may help

Just wanted to pass on some knowledge here -

My kayfun light worked flawlessly for the last five days. Today, out of nowhere, it started to weep from the airhole.

Tried to blow out the excess from chamber by blowing into the mouthpiece and it continued to leak. Tried to take slower drags attempting to vape excess liquid, still leaked.

Opened it up, drained fluid, disassembled, looked at coil. Through heat, a bump, or whatever, one side of the coil had drooped close to the airhole inside of the evaporation chamber. Took a small screwdriver and pried the coil higher over the airhole, put chamber on, tucked wick back into place, reassembled unit, and no more leak. Since the coil was really close to the airhole, the wick was feeding fluid into the airhole and drained out of the exterior air intake hole.

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone having random leak problems as a place to look if your Kayfun starts to leak on you.

pretty sweet. I was doing the porous ceramic before trying the cotton last month. loved the ceramic and believe it has the best flavor. when I purchased a reo and kayfun I just couldn't think of a way to make it work. being that you are vaping this now and have vaped the cotton, both in the kayfun, how would you compare?
