you guys are all kayfun krazy....lol...i can barely get a good vape out of mine for now, reading over this with a HUGE question mark forming in my thick head, especially early friday morning....lol

Nice! I just ordered the mini for my Ba Gua. Will arrive on Monday. It's good to see a pic of it. Wish the diameter was 17mm, but it looks pretty good Wonder why you're having trouble. I've read that some people think it's a better vape than the Lite or the 3.1

^ aalwani, I suggest trying cotton balls if the hemp is giving you problems. The balls work really, really well.

Just tried a piece of regular house cotton ball. Man that changed my opinion about the kayfun. Never a dry hit, microcoil 1.2 ohms. Just perfect. Well I got small leakages due to me drawing too strong or when I keep the button pressed after inhale. I'm assuming that this is due to condensation inside the chamber?

using 2mm eko, usually 4 wraps of 30awg, sometimes the thing leakes wayy too much for my liking, i top fill....takes forever for the pressure chamber to pressurize? meanwhile i prob. lose a ml of liquid through the air intake between the screw and the valve

If you top fill and don't cover the airhole,it will leak,That's why its filled either upside down or thru the fill port.If your coil is touching the top of the airhole,it will leak.The wick brings liquid to the coil,the coils touches the airhole,liquid runs out the airhole
I don't have a K mini,but that's how the 3.1 is,I figure the mini is the same

at times the k mini gives me an incredible vape- im pretty new to ekowool or silica rba's , did strictly gennys for a long time...i feel like im the only one that started with mesh builds first- so im a bit late to the kayfun train ...
sometimes the k mini gives me dry hits, i already saw a ton of videos, been reading your posts....probably will take some more practice- only coiled it a few times so far...i love the tank, i dont love losing a ml of liquid every full fill, so far nothing works to prevent a ml leaking out after a clean and refill...

the coil isnt touching the airhole....it leakes only upon fresh refilling..how do u fill it upside down?

Just fill from the top with the airhole and adjustable draw covered(does the mini have adjustable draw?),put the top cap on so that it only catches on the threads then flip it upside down to tighten up the topcap.This puts air at the grooves instead of liquid and you should be good to go.

I get about 4 hours from a 18350 with heavy vaping..

I have one that going downhill though and I only get about 2 hours from it..

I only use AW IMR's

^I get ditto from my Efests too. I usually carry two spares in my pocket, which serves well for a full workday out of home. I pop a fresh only once - around lunchtime and the second is just kept standby.

I'm lucky if I get 2 hours from an 18350....more like and hour and a half before the drop off is too much for my tastes.

FYI, I get about 4 hours from an 18650 before I swap it out.

Maybe I'm a *really* heavy vaper....I do go through about 10ml a day.

Question about micro-coil and cotton:
Using:
Rite-Aid rolled cotten
28g Kanthal, 12 wrap @ 1.4Ω
Rolled wick between fingers to make it dense as per superXdrifter's video. Was able to pull wick through without binding, laid tails on shelf but not covering holes.

How long until I no longer taste cotton, and when will I be able to taste my juice? It's not a burnt taste, just tasted like sucking on a cotton ball. No cinnamon red hots at all...

I had that sensation for the first few hours after a fresh build. Then it was fine. Not sure how much of that was me acclimating to the flavor, and how much of it just went away. I suspect a little of both, but more the latter.

It's a fairly tight set of coils. I dry burned them and gently squeezed them together with needle nose pliers between pulses.

I guess I can understand some seasoning period where you only taste cotton, but no juice flavor at all?

EDIT: Can too thick a wick cause this?

No, I had some flavor, but muted. dunno about wick thickness contributing to it.

The cotton should not be "dense" at all. Less is more with cotton and micros.
