just remember to never dry burn cotton!
i think you nailed it, pretty sure that's exactly whats happening seeings though the said scratchs that are being reported seem to look the same and be in the same place... factory seconds so to speak. no big deal though i don't think...

BC...I'm gonna say this one time. Knock it off! I can be as belligerent as you but there is no place for it on this thread. Get it? If not, I'll gladly have a bucket of ice water thrown on it. Your call.Dude, you have 14000 posts in one year, don't tell me about the time it takes to watch 2 minutes of a video, which I cued up for you,
that explains why what you said is complete nonsense.
How long should the tails be? I have them so they are just touching the base. I have them covering the holes as well as I could get them too but it still doesn't want to wick. I've seem other people in this thread that have tried everything and still can't get it to work properly. I was thinking about getting another or trying to get a Russian.
I didn't mean to start anything by posting pics of my "scratch".. I just thought it was funny that the trader listed it as if it were a flaw and then when I got it, I found that the one I had had the same mark. It doesn't matter where it came from, it's obvious it came from some step in the machining process and I don't believe that it makes any difference in performance.
I set it up with cotton and so far so good. I'll give it a bit. I didn't prime it to see if it was taking juice in and it is. Thanks for the help guys. I'm still not sure why this wasn't working with silica because I had it set up the same way.
Chillax peeps, we are in the same journey... boarded the same train... headed the same direction too!
when I followed this illustration, I got nothing but dry hits unless I covered the air hole and manually fed the chamber. The wicks are hugging the side of the deck and juice can't get to them. This is probably where I got the idea that the wicks need to be kept well away from the inlets.
Hmm, donnah - I just rewicked (30-mins back) one of my KFLs exactly this way (first cotton replacement over the same coil in a month) and I'm going fine - as it was before. AND:
1) Found I didn't have any dings/scuffs/slash on the deck (this was an InTaste one),
2) I've never placed the wick any other way since I fetched my KFLs (3 as of now),
3) I ensure that my wick-tails are around 1+* cm on each end (longer could get feeding issues).

*Yours looked a bit longer

So what you're saying is that you keep your wick tails well away from the juice inlets? My kfl came from intaste also. I think Rule62 has 5 kfls from 3 different vendors and all of his has the "beauty mark"![]()
