Seriously. I tried one with an 18ga needle and absolutely hated it. 16 at least for me. Haven't tried 17ga yet.

From what I've tried in my drippers, middle range micros work great; going larger into mini range can be great too though the larger you go the more you lose the quick response time of micros; but going smaller into nano territory.. no thanks, not for me.

in my opinion the kayfun with a micro coil and cotton is the holy grail, atleast in the forseeable future. although a few of the higher end atty's compare they don't beat the ease, flavor or reliability of the KF. imo next would be the Taifun GT followed by maybe the Sophia and Diver V2.

sorry for the rant guys, just feelin' the kayfun love this morning ;)

Specifics please..

..what part are you having troubles with?

I can't get a consistent roll of it to wick my coil. It's more lumpy and inconsistent than when I was using cotton balls lol

I've been using cotton yarn for so long now but I feel like normal cotton might wick better

Ah my bad, you're using rolled cotton. I use cotton balls & Cotton yarn only. Sorry for leading you to think I had a solution lol.

Try unrolling a bit and cut that off. Yours may have gotten squished during packaging. Once you pull off a piece, pull it gently, elongating the piece until it's the size you want. Helps with lumpiness.

I went from rolled cotton and cotton balls to cotton yarn because I could not get consistent wicks with the rolled or balls. You're moving in the other direction I think..but that's just my opinion. YMMV. ;)

Hello all, I'm new to this thread and new also to my KF+

Skittles, I boiled my rolled cotton twice in distilled water and then rinsed it in distilled water. It looked like a disaster when dried but it works for me if I use scissors to cut off pieces a little larger than the size for a given coil. Then I gently roll it the wee bit it needs to fit inside the coil with some movement allowed. There's pretty much a life supply of cotton with a box of rolled surgical cotton so I don't mind that there are bits and pieces that can't be used. For those, I roll 'em on the tip of a tooth pick for sopping up dripper liquids and now I don't need to buy q-tips anymore either. :)
