I actually came up with this build about a week and a half ago. This is what I've been using in my last 10 or so builds. Doesn't affect the draw at all. Vapor production was the best for me compared to previous truman builds as well as flavor. It also seems to take less time to ramp up.

I also tried the carto-style build twice but it's not for me. Flavor is great but vapor prod was too low.
So for me for now the truman builds are still the best.

edit: ok, made a mistake. my build is slightly different. I use 2 pieces of cotton. Instead of looping the strand that goes thru the coil on the base and back up on top and over the coil I just use another separate wick to accomplish the same thing. My thinking was that it took less wick to do this and less folds in the wick so maybe that would help with the wicking process somehow.

I've been using this for two weeks…so there LOL It's a good one for sure, and yes that's correct inotfat, and I can't give you an exact coil to vent measurement Reyes, maybe 2-3mm, pretty much what is customary works fine.

I will admit, the only cig-a-like batteries I have are autos, so that set-up doesn't actually work. Well, it could work, if someone blows through the light end it activates the auto switch so I could get a vape when they do that... wouldn't be very stealthy though.

yep Ive done shotguns before in my younger days, just not with a ecig:p

Lol need another illustration like laast time?

Might try a nano coil on my Russian 91. After doing a super nano coil I would have loved to do it on my r91,just not sure how I'd wick it though.

I'm good now. It seems like checking the forum brain dead after a long day of classes makes it a terribly embarrassing experience.

But I did figure it out and tried it on my kfl+. My air flow is perfect, although I keep getting a weird taste from it. Not quite a burnt taste. But something weird. Which is strange because I disassemble the bad boy and all the wicks are well saturated and there's no burnt cotton.

Speaking of disassembly, if the folks at svoemesto ever figure out how to change the design to allow access to the deck without draining, I'm pouring my savings into a boatload of them. Ha, a man can dream!

Im having bad luck with scratching my metals on my r91  So i was trying to clean my r91 because I had just made a new nano coil for it and the top metal connector was stuck to my mtank. I tried using a dry towel and trying to twist to loose but no luck. Finally i tried to use a vice grip with a towel to loosen it, tough at first but I applied for pressure and finally twisted off...but not without scratching the top metal part. Luckily I had bought mother mag polish and it worked wonders with scuffs on the chimney.. but this scratch was a bit deeper (not deep but u can feel it) so I tried using the green scotchbrite (cant find the gray or gold SB pads) and brassos metal polish so I could fine out the scratches. After that I used the mothers mag polish with a terry cloth and it got better but still a little noticable. Should I keep going til I get it smooth or should I get sand paper and do it with that? If so what grit should I get?

I too have gotten the bottom build deck stuck on the first tank section. And it wasnt screwed on tight at all. They really need to knurl the bottom. But what I have found that works with the KFL+ when it gets stuck, I stick a small nail in the air hole and that gives me something to grab on to so I can loosen that small section. No vise grips needed.

Hey reyes, try 800 grit sandpaper, if thats not course enough, then go down to 400grit. After the marks are removed, you work your way back up finer and finer. Each time, you'll remove marks left by the previous grit sandpaper. Last time I looked, Ace hardware sells 2000grit sandpaper. Another source is Mcmastercarr, they have grits running clear up to grits that are more like leather.

lots of good info here,.. my insulator burnt and was giving me a terrible plastic taste like a pro tank would.

about 200 pages back someone used a credit card cut up to make a quick fix, tried it and it works good.

0.8mm Teflon - unbeatable as insulator material in the KF's.
I'm sure you can get it cheaper, or a smaller piece somewhere, I just threw up a link.
I already had some from an unrelated project years ago...
(in this link, it has an adhesive backing that you would NOT want in your atty)
Amazon.com: Teflon (PTFE) sheet Size 6" x 12", 0.03" (1/32") thick with 3M 300LSE industrial-strength self-adhesive backing (TEFLON06x12-3M): Sports & Outdoors

Quick question: how do you know if the insulator is burnt? So I'm getting this ridiculous plasticy and burnt taste. Definitely not from the coil nor the cotton wick. I've taken my kfl apart, and the plastic insulator doesn't look burnt or melted at all. Hmm

Hope I'm in the right place. Just got my Russian 91 and did a micro cotton build. It really does outperform my Protank II builds. I'm pretty impressed.
I have one little problem that I can't quite figure out. When filling from the bottom it acts as if there is vapor lock or something as it's not taking juice easily. Any help would be appreciated.

Through the fill port on the bottom with the screw, right? Use a syringe needle to refill, and make sure there is room in the hole for the needle, and for air to come out the same hole. The air you are displacing in the tank with liquid has to go somewhere, and the fill port is where is has to exit.

Yeah I am running a micro coil and cotton. I've rebuilt them 3 times with the same result. And that's after torching my coils and pulse burning them upon installing.

Gonna soak em in boiling water and see if that works. If not I'm just gonna hafta assume that the insulator is burnt. Which is puzzling because it's in perfect condition.

have you checked if there's any damage on 5c?

hard to imagine that you wouldn't notice it, but I've seen some reports of melted o-rings recently..might be worth to check it too

yeap. All my orings are in good conditions. I've actually disassembled every single part and can see absolutely nothing wrong. Also soaked in boiling water. I still get a terrible plasticky taste though.

Thinking I might have somehow forgotten how to build my kayfuns, I just redid 2 of my r91 and a kfl. They all vape perfect. At this point I can't think of what else I can possibly do. how frustrating.
