Just a quick update and a big thanks to Woody :toast:

Earlier today, I received my order from IBTanked. Vaping my first tank with the tarsius kit as I type this! excuse the terrible image:

Ordered it exactly as Woody described, worked flawlessly.

Filled it from the top, still haven't tried the fill port.

Like the close up picture. Ignore the bottom fill, top fill is best. I have same set up also on my R91. Waiting for the SOV kit.

Thanks sunnata. Yaa some times it helps for a size reference to include the bic. I tested out a clear top cap over the weekend, destroyed 2 in 15 minutes. Grenada just cracked them & they fell to pieces. The delrin tops are a win so far for me. Lighter then the sov top cap i have. I was going to put the sov top cap on the glass kit, but it felt to top heavy. I hope to get the sov glass kit soon, Chris said the bottom fill hole is usable in his kit. The bottom fill hole just does not work on the Tarsius kit.

A quartz tank might be good for at home, but theres no way I am throwing a tank in my pocket that isn't secured by threads. Why hasn't someone made a threaded chimney and a top cap threaded where the chimney goes through the hole where you put a drip tip?

    relying on friction... pssssh
Well i have no issue with the o-ring seals. 5 Gennies sitting at the ready here, held together with o-rings... But to make you feel comfy, wanting threads. KEBO, the maker of the Russian has posted pictures of a threaded chimney to top cap design. Should make wedging a glass tank, simple. So many great atty choices out there, more coming in a few months.

So far the vape seems about the same with this build as with a standard build, not getting any less TH. The vape actually feels a touch harsher, but that may be from a different factor than the gap.

Flavor and vapor is good, so I'm just hoping it gunks slower with the dirty juice I have planned for it. When I rebuild it after the going through the gunky juices, I'll probably go back to a standard coil.

maybe because the wick is still run completely thru your having slightly different results to mine. what I did was to thread the wick all the way thru, then I pulled up the wick from the gap, I then cut the wick bringing each end back towards the channels. so basically I had a double wick end in each channel so each little coil had its own wick. also I had used 26g and had quite a few more wraps then yours.

I just got my Kayfun last week and been loving it. I've just built builds with silica and 32gauge kanthal. Had it on my SVD and is vaping great! Most builds were around 1.4-1.7. I just got a ZNA and put the Kayfun on it and it immediately tasted burnt at the lowest wattage setting (7). I know the DNA 30 has no voltage reducing capabilities and was trying to figure out what I need to do. I just built one at a higher ohm (2.4) and it is doing the exact same thing. I am going to go get some more kanthal and some organic cotton to try a microcoil build. My questions are: is a silica build hard to get to work with higher voltage?, what size wire should I get and what size/how many wraps should I try my first micro coil at? Has anyone got a good silica build working with the dna 30? Thanks

also like another mentioned, if all you have is 32g for now, you can twist 2 pieces of 32g together, this will give you a wire gauge that's more like 29g. I use a drill and stick an allen key in it, I then twist the 2 ends of the 2 strands to the elbow of the allen key. I hold the other ends of the wire with a pliers and start slowly twisting. you want them pretty tight but not eventually making knots. once done wrap a micro coil as you would any other. if all you have is silica, I have been able, in the past to use a 5/64 drill bit and thread some 2.5mm silca thru it. also about your different results on the 2 different mods I also would say it very well could be the silica, I really don't know how it performs with 32g because I never used it except once and that was a lot thicher gauge, what I do know is that with sterile cotton and 32g with resistances over 2 or more, you really shouldn't have any issues with the dna device at its low settings. I think what maybe happening is that your getting away with it on the svd because maybe its not pushing what it says its pushing, but once you vape the same set up on the dna device its pushing more and your slight wicking issues are shinning thru.

Vape tongue sucks. My temporary fix is smelling fresh ground coffee and eat a dill pickle/suck on lemon juice. Of course the best way is taking a break from the juice but I don't want tooo

So THAT's what I did wrong. After trying what I thought was the old eating fresh ground coffee and sniffing some lemon juice, I wasn't happy with the results.

I can easily see that giving different results.

So after using twisted 28 on 1.4mm ID I decided to try triple twisted 28 on 2mm Id. After the wick broke in, flavor is nice and warm... Also more TH

Lol you kinda flipped flopped the idea
