Haha! Sure...right next to the family pets.

Say Diver, what's the very first e-cig you had?

v-2 I think was the company, typical cig-a-like device. that was 3 years ago. messed with those types for about a year before doing rebuildables. I remember watching a video by igotcha-69, 2 years ago about the DID genesis atty, I bought one and was totally blown away.

Had a ProSmoke (utterly useless) for about month before I had enough. Went to eGO's from there with Vivi Nova, Kanger tanks and rhen CE3's before going to rebuildables. Started with a basic Phoenix RBA and still use them. Gennies were horrible!

i have 4 kayfuns and honestly i have done just about every possible set up that i can think of, i just love messing with coils. the thing is that there is not that much difference in all those builds, some are slightly better but not a huge difference. a couple of weeks ago i installed what i believe to be the best set up in the kayfun, its a dual coil with a orientation perpendicular to the juice channels. this is a twisted 32g coil with a total resistance of .9Ω. i have this on my dna-20 mod and vaping it at 20 watts. although it is my favorite, if i vape it side by side with lets say a single micro on my provari the difference is just a little bit better. so i keep building to find something that is wayyy better. along with this set up i drilled out this kayfun to 5/64th's, there again a little better airflow but not that much of a difference.

Oh yeah bro, I found this at .09-1.1 to give me the best bang out of it- it's 28ga kanthal wicked with cotton grown by Virgil fairies- lol
Seriously though the dual is perpendicular but I found if I set the cool to the top of the lower chimney section, just below where the stack
Would screw down it gives me a massively warm hit!
I've had the dripper guys at the local b&m choking from being unprepared for it! That was my proud moment- lol a few of them have I've turned into believes- Hanna

I simply don't understand the obsession with 28 guage. I wrap everything in 30 guage and depending on ID and size. Heck I can go from 0.3 up to over 2 ohms. Torch and wrap. But then I cheat and use a coil winder. (wish I had a pic of it). I got it off Ebay. Not to much cash. Oh heck I'll go find the darn thing. BRB.
here it is.
Amazon.com: Artistic Wire Coiling Gizmo(R) Deluxe Winder for Jewelry Making
Just get the complete set. Comes with 1 mm, 1.5mm 3mm, and something huge. I used a wire coat hanger to get my 2mm, wraps. Easy as pie.
(Even for a one eyed blind man).

For a while I was wrapping around a small allen wrench then discovers cutting pieces of a wire hanger are the perfect diameter- and it's free! Lol
Seriously I wrap them around that-mount then torch dry burn and set the coil together to solidify - works every time and takes 30 seconds

I cut a coat hanger and made a mandrel for my coil gizmo because it does not come with a 2mm mandrel and the coat hanger was exactly 2mm

You know how you expect everything shipping from China to take a month to get here?! Imagine my surprise to find out that the Muji cotton I ordered has already been delivered, and I could have picked it up from the office on Thursday..

I guess I'll be Muji'ing tomorrow, once I pick up the delivery from my office.

Lucky you live in Canada, tomorrow is Memorial Day here, and EVERYTHING (banks, post office, all gov't offices) is closed. No vapemail tomorrow anywhere in the US.

But I get to order some. :D We went up to my folks' today for a belated b-day get together, I got many b-day goodies, including $35 from my aunt. So I'll be looking for another KFL+ clone on eBay. :thumb:

Yeah for total tech geek; I'm part macgruber. I didn't measure a thing. Lol
Just looked like it would work so I cut a little 3"(ish) piece off, wrapped the cool, checked it on my hdmm and it was good to go!
Yeah I get lucky once in a while lol

I believe you could wrap a coil around a tree trunk and shove a tent through it and it would work in a Kayfun.

I set up my r91 with a vertical 28g 1.5mm coil. I get MUCH better flavor than with any horizontal coil with the same juice. I have to run it hotter though. I tend to run around 13 to 14 watts horizontal and about 16 watts in vertical. The flavor is just outstanding. The best part is its nearly impossible to get a dry hit as there's so much cotton in there sucking up juice.

I'm so tempted to change my 8 month old horizontal coil out to a vertical...

Hmm... The insides of the top cap is different; it's solid. Doubt it'll make a difference in terms of the vape, although it'll most certainly reduce the overall capacity.

That shouldn't be a problem; right now I'm using this one that I have, and I can't get thru a whole tank of 9mg before I have to empty it to put in my 6mg for evening use. With 2, I won't have to empty until I need to change the wick. Which does seem pretty often, using cotton, but it tastes so good I can't say I mind all that much. Plus it gives me a chance to improve my wicking skills; still kinda hit or miss at the moment, but maybe improving somewhat.

I'm so excited! I got some nice gifts, but I think this one will be my favorite. Thanks, Betty! :thumb: :D

I'm not even sure what a vertical coil looks like, nevermind how to make it or mount it. No way I could vape my regular juice at that wattage though; if I go over 9w it starts to taste burned, no matter what I'm using for a wick. I think the wick I put in this morning was a bit much; I was getting an almost-burnt taste *at* 9w, and when I took it out, yep, burned sure enough. so the one I put in tonight was a good deal skinnier, maybe it won't burn so fast.
