I vape at 2.0 ohms (30ga, 10 wraps, 2.0mm ID) on a Provari. I never tried 26 gauge but I have tried 28 gauge at 1.5 ohms and it just took a little too long to heat up. But the only opinion that matters as far as you should be concerned is your own.

This is where I like my build as well...using Opus/Hana mods ...prefer closer to 1.6 on my mech mods

That looks like a chrome plated one. Looks like crap. Mine looks nothing like that.

They was kind of the point when Bronze said QC isn't maintained and so said consistency is an issue in the clone market.
That atty never would have passed stage 1 at the authentic mill.
But in china it made it all the way to a customer.
That's also the reason I only buy authentic or the
" higher end clones" ,
The second I see that with an ehpro or hcigar ne on it; I'm going to all authentic.
I'd rather 1 good atty than 5 bad ones.
I'm a quality over quantity person. That's why I only have 2 mods

Lmao!!!!
@ kiwi- and your feelin on Canadian Bacon is?

I stick between 1.4 and 1.6 with 28g and absolutely loves it.

Still I'll always say get what you like
Clone/authentic
The way I see it from a users perspective, I will always buy high quality.
The deal got in the R91 and Taifun last weekend does influence my viewpoint more in the "pro-authentic camp" though if such a thing exists.

Canadians have bacon?! :p

Since we are all at it, I love my 28ga. Apart from the occasional slip and stabbing my fingertips, 28 ga are a breeze to work with. Typically gun for 1.2 ohms; perfect for a 15 watt vape on a provari at 4.2V, a 18 - 20 watt vape on a dna30, and hell, 1.2 works pretty fine even on a mech too

Also. The taifun. Son of a. The ONE atty that pretty much craps on and laughs at me.

But I have 2 of them suckers in my FT cart. I will conquer them. On American soil. ROAAAAAR

I'm loving it kiwi!
I scored an authentic(no one hit me) for an unbelievable deal- 1.6 with 28g and wicked it with just rayon.
The flavor makes kayfun taste like a PT.
I got rid of the AFC tube altogether and use a wide bore drip tip!
It is now my every day atty!

I know I knowwww....

For me, I ditched my taifun the moment the kayfuns came out. Can't remember which came out first, although I'm pretty sure I got my GTs first.

Kayfuns are dead easy to build, and even if it floods, the leak is minimal and easy to deal with.

The taifuns on the other hand. Once it leaks, all hell breaks loose.

I do think the design of the taifun makes it a heck lot better for higher wattage vaping though; way more efficient wick saturatiob

I was thinking the same thing and CAN NOT wait for the new mech to come in so I can wrap this thing at 0.8 and enjoy :)

She hasn't leaked on me yet!
I know it's only a matter of time but it makes me feel like a Jedi master to say it. Lol

Oooo seems legit. I do 11 wraps 28ga around 5/64 and get 1.2 smack on the dot all the time.

I am so grateful for this KFL plus thread. I've been wanting to get into RBT's and was pleased to see the lack of "leak factor" for pocket friendliness in regards to the KFL plus. I adore my Reo but sometimes a tank is necessary for my out and about life. I picked one up at a local B&M last week and have been really, really enjoying it. The B&M wicked it for me (30 gauge, 1/16 @ 1.6 ohms). They were a bit heavy on the cotton, so I re-wicked with less organic and all is fine.

my question has to do with the position of the coils. The pics (great tutorial!) and videos have the coils vertical to the screws. The B&M placed this one horizontal. Any experience with this?

Like I said, I am pleased but this is my first KFL plus and am loving to learn. Yes, I have a Provari and multi-meter.

thank you.

Until I see a poorly made kayfun clone, I will believe what I want. And what I see.

Hcigar kayfun 3.1 clone. Bought 2 and they were both duds. They would always dry hit after vaping the initial juice used to prime the cotton wicks. Almost gave up on kayfuns style atties until i did some research, and found out that the vertical channels weren't cut properly. A couple of minutes with the dremel, and all was good. Also the edges on the SS tank rings were extremely sharp, and would shred up my fingers whenever I needed to clean them.

2 weeks later I received my 2 authentic KFL v2. The threading was much smoother, and the edges of the SS tank rings were smooth. I did have some issues with dry hits, since my modded 3.1 kayfun clone had bigger channels, but after a quick post on this forum, i had things sorted out.

I am not trying to bash clones, but had a bad experience with the very first clones I bought. Everything that I've read indicated that Hcigar makes quality 1:1 clones, yet that wasn't the case in my situation.

BTW, I have read this read this entire thread. Had I done so, I would've known to place my wick ends just above the channels, and use a little bit more cotton. Those 2 things solved my dry hit issues with my 2 authentic KFL v2. Thanks Donnah!
