This is one of my kayfun 3.1's with the glass tanks available from fasttech. Works great and although it comes with an extra chimney top, its not needed. I use the original that was already on my 3.1.
That's the hope and a prayer style I was talking about. At least with mine I checked and the chimney in the kit is about 2mm shorter than my regular Kayfun lite clones, I have 3. So I've been using the slightly shorter one figuring that the regular size may stick up into the recess for the drip tip.

I only use them at home, so they never end up in a pocket or abused. The pressure fit is so tight, I can't see them coming a part very easily. I use a couple of pieces of rubber band on the steel parts to get a good grip when I take it apart. I like them so well, I bought another for when I purchase my next 3.1. Also got 2 extra replacement glass pieces, just in case.

Did you pay the extra $1 per item for them to put it in a box or did you just have them ship it their normal way?

Normal way but with the extra 75 cents for the faster shipping. Everything got here in good condition.

I stumbled on a wicking technique and would like to hear opinions. Pull the two dry wicks up an cut at the top of chimney, cut and position soak, position again. Then remove the chimney and be quite surprised how bad it is. Trim right now and make sure its position such that when you screw the chimney back on it doesn't catch any cotton. This just about a good wick a wick I can make. Opinions, thoughs?

Edited grammar

The way I do it, I screw on the chimney barrel section first, then use a micro screwdriver to nudge the cotton back into position before reassembling anything else.

But most of the time I trim my cotton just right from the onset, paste it against the position and screw on the barrel section without getting caught

See why I don't come here for help. Look I'm losing my patience going on two months with bad KLF builds. So I've lost my sense of humor regarding anything Kayfun.

I put the AFC screw back in and it semed to help immeditaley. Anyone but Aal does that make any sense technically?

what causes a KLF+ to flood?

The first thing I would think of is a failure of sealing, such as:

-chimney tube to base
-chimney tube to chimney cap
-chimney cap to top cap (missing, bad or incorrect sized o-ring)

I've been happy with my EHPro's performance and consistency. Seven wraps of 28g Kanthal around a 5/64" drill bit (1.3 ohms) coil placed transversely (at 90° angle to the build deck), KGD cotton wick trimmed to very slightly longer than enough to reach the juice deck. Juice the wick thoroughly, stick it into place, put on the chimney tube and the rest, fill up and go. It runs quietly after the air is purged from the wick, with only the sound of air going through the inlets.

Could really be a variety of things for one like previously mentioned a poor seal, like an oring. Another reason could be too fat of a wick that's over wicking and is pressed up against the side ledge. If your wick comes from lower deck and is kind of pressed against the edge of drop down ledge, liquid from wick can make its way to airhole and gurgle. Another possibility is your that you cannot vaporize the juice efficiently fast enough for the juice amount being wicked. This could be from to thick of a wire gauge and insufficient power. Regal it also could just be the device so please send it to me and let me check it out. Sometimes it just takes one to see a build in order to replicate it, also I will make you 20 coils, this will even out your shipping costs because I know you were buying coils.

I know the previous poster was just joking :0 But this thing has turned into a real drag.

I had taked out the afc screw and when I put that back in it seemed a lot bettter.

I am seriously thinking a got a bad batch where they did cut the juice channels right.

So as inexpensive as they are getting I am just going to buy a new one. I'm good at building small stuff from smd boards to tube amp but this KFL has been a nightmare I know its rarely the product but I think as many people calling this an easy build I am going to try a new one. The vapor production is terribly light, something is just wrong with it. I'd uplod a picture but don't have a macro camera or fancy phone.

Regal...send the damn thing to VapeDiver. You got expert Kayfun knowledge who offered to help you. You'd be a fool not to take him up on it. If there is something wrong with your Kayfun, he will figure it out.

Do it!!!

Regal, I think Vapdivrr was being serious, he helps people here with builds!

Regal..

I forget, which KFL+ do you have? My EHPro is nice and tight on the seals (almost too tight) and seems to never leak. I do keep the airflow screw in it though. Even with the bottom (I like tighter draws) and little piece of clear tape over it to keep it from backing out. If you are flooding/leaking, you could have a slight leak at on of the seals. Must likely the chimney to top cap o-ring.

My wicks I make sure just cover the channels without being in them. Just lightly sitting on top. 2mm dia. open spaced coil, 1.2ohm with 28ga. I dont do the 'cut even with the chimney' method anymore as I seem to burn the wick easier that way. I angle my coil and lay the tails on the deck against the walls, screw on the bottom chimney, then adjust the tails to lightly cover the channels..

You've seen these pic before.

If you want I could open up the airflow a bit and quickly deepen channels if needed. Get one of those mailer bubble envelopes and just stick the kayfun in there . If there is a major flaw in the device then your only out like 5 bucks for shipping. If it is poor channel size or the build, then your going to save at least 40 bucks on a new one because I can mod it. I can weight my kayfun and let you know how many stamps to put on envelope. leave your coil and wick alone, just how you normally would do it and just syringe out juice.
