Here in Sweden our banks (at least the bank I have and I know of others) let you use a secure e-card for shopping online. It creates a "fake" credit card with a CCV-number and you set a fixed amount to be attached to that "faked" card. So if anyone steals your information when shoping there is no money left (or a very small amount) on the "fake" card or it will be rejected because it has expired (short date on the card).
Only the bank itself knows that this "fake" card is connected to your actual account and your real VISA/MasterCard. Very practical when you shop online.
Talk to your bank. Suggest this kind of safety feature. Should not be so hard to implement on CC's.
