Yes, but it did settle down after cleaning and a little bit of oxidation.

That's good to know. So if they are authentic why don't they match the quality of other Kennedy products. I have a copper K24 and that never had a smell, there is a definite difference in the quality of the copper material. The finishing isn't so good and the drip tips had burrs on the end that have ripped my orings slightly when I pulled them out.

They went straight in the bin...

Got the slam cap and fat dragon tip in today. The dragon tip came preinstalled in the slam cap and was ridiculously tight, even after spending some time in the freezer. I did end up getting it out and decided it would be a good idea to try and shrink the base a bit by squeezing it with some pliers and I ended up cracking it. In hindsight it was a stupid idea. On the upside though I have a bradscap which fits perfectly and the vape from the slam cap is amazing. I also found the slamcap fits on the tugboat 24 base though it's a bit of a tight fit, some different orings should resolve this issue but not concerned with it right now. Overall happy with the purchase and I'll probably pick up another in the near future.

I personally am not happy with either the stainless steel or copper slam cap that I bought from Save On Vapes.

I would actually recommend that nobody use the copper cap, until we understand whether it's authentic and what source/type of copper has been used.

To does not feel or smell right to me and I haven't even considered using it.

I also have issues with the stainless steel cap, it fits my K24 perfectly, however my authentic dragon tip does not sit on the cap as cleanly as it should. Even though I have the tip with the shortened neck.

Neither of these products look or feel right to me.

My copper slam cap's been on my Ruby since day one. The finish of the slam cap wasn't as polished as the Ruby or the cap that came with it. But, after cleaning, polishing, and extensive use, I have little doubt they are milled out of the same copper.

The Ruby was purchased from a different retailer than the slam cap.

Ever think to contact Kennedy directly to find out if Save On Vapes is on their seller list? That might save some time and $ for a lot of people and you will have your answer... Maybe even send your cap in to them to authenticate!!! Just a couple ideas...

Yes, am in the process of escalating the issue with them now and will be posting my email along with photos of the caps in comparison to my authentic Kennedy caps.

Not sure whether to name him, as I haven't asked his permission, but I have also been in dialogue with a fellow ECF member, who kindly contacted Kennedy on my behalf, over the last few days.

Kennedy confirmed that the caps sold by Save On Vapes where authentic. However that doesn't mean that the caps I have received are, it just means that Kennedy have supplied Save On Vapes with a number of authentic slam caps.

The idea of the slam caps does excite me, it's just the execution of the build and quality control of the ones I received that are in question. Especially as these are supposed to be a hand milled quality product.

For the purpose of my query and complaint:

Pictured is the stainless steel slam cap, if you look closely at the dragon tip, purchased directly from Kennedy, it does not sit on the cap fully and there is a slight space. It's not an issue within itself from a vaping perspective but coupled along with the very poor finish of the original drip tip which was next to garbage and ended up in the garbage as soon as I could pry it off. The font which is raised, when compared to all my other Kennedy caps the logo is smooth to the touch. The slam cap logo is rough enough to catch dirt in it.

This does not feel like the build quality and finish that I am used to getting from my Kennedy devices and trust me I have more than a few.

The copper slam cap is even worse, again with the same rough font/logo as the stainless steel one. But more importantly it has the worst copper smell and I own a copper K24 which has none of these issues.

I have cleaned it, but the smell still remains. I can't even bear to touch it as the smell stains my hands let alone vape on it.

I forgot to mention that the original drip tips were so poorly machined and finished that they had rough edges and burs on the neck which damaged the o-ring when I pryed them off.

Let alone it took all my strength to take them off, they were borderline dangerous to vape on as the burs were quite a size and could have been ingested if anyone just gave the cap a quick clean then Vaped on it without replacing them...

Update from Kennedy:

Kennedy confirmed that my Slam Caps from Save On Vapes are authentic.

However they glossed over the fact that my dragon tip does not fit properly, even though I advised that it has the shortened neck. And advised that I clean my copper cap with white vinegar to get rid of the smell.

To be fair I didn't tell them that I have been vaping 3 plus years and know how to clean copper. I hit that copper slam cap with an alchohol bath, followed by a vinegar bath, followed by a long stretch of being doused in ketchup. The smell remains.

They also glossed over the fact that the original drip tips were poorly finished and damaged my o-rings when I prized them out.

I plan to follow these up with them, but to summarise they are not fakes just poorly finished.

Sorry to hear that, that's not funny at all.

How and where?

Hi Donnie, its been a while.
I was at a vape store near my house and left the atty at the building area and forgot to take it with me when I used the restroom. Was busy texting and got carried away. I have a SS K24 so have to stick with my back up now lol.
