Kicking Cable to the Curb

I just tested something today on my day off. I re-enabled RD providers and let stuff play all day while I was doing other things around the house. When they disconnect me I'd switch IP's on my VPN, & the quota resets.

I was curious bc sometimes with other providers, after using the same type over and over again, I get disconnected in the middle of a stream and can't reconnect to the same type after that, but if I switch my IP (usually to a different continent) I get access to them again. apparently RD's quotas or w/e work the same way and are ip-based, when you're on a different IP, it logs you again and resets. Not that you need real debrid if you have a VPN, but I found it interesting.

Here's the story so far...I sent that piece-of-crap tv back yesterday..full refund, after I talked via phone to a Samsung employee ( come to find out there wasn't an HDMI cable which was supposed to be included), he contacted the place I bought it from and set up the refund, plus Fedex pickup.( oh..and never mind that the POS wouldn't take my password)

When my brain and emotions are back to normal, then I'm gonna hook up the SS1 with the guidance of a SS1 tech to my other smart tv...which set up beautifully from the start.

FWIW, got a samsung smarty years ago. Mind blowing. 5 (count em) FIVE HDMI ports. 2 coax in. Features up da ying yang.
Well, it died. Can't get parts for it. (about 5 yeerz old)
So, got a new one.
Total junk. 2 hdmi, one coax, fixed stand (can't swivel any more. I guess they assume everyone on the planet is going to wall mount) Put the stand on... stripped screw. Yes, the stand screws into plastc. On a 55" tv. Tin cans rival the speakers.
So never again. Even tho I've had at least a half dozen samsungs they've really started not singing (Sammy sung? get it? )

I found only the curved Samsung panels to be of decent quality. We have 2 of those and they're great. The others I looked at, non-impressed.

Yup, I almost stripped the screws cuz they went into plastic and it had only two hdmi and one coax ports and no hdmi cable, which showed as one of the components right on the box and the "parts" paper inside.

Sams speechless...

I really like my Vizio as long as you get an M or a P. 5 HDMI ports no tuner no coax hookup tablet remote that works well. All smart apps on the remote not on tv but if you want an antenna you have to buy a tuner. The support is good. Got it at Costco so have a 2 year warranty. Has Optical out for sound speakers are like most crap. Lotsa adjustments available on the tablet plus you can use the Chromecast for Netflix or any other app in the Google Store like Chrome, Spotify, Pandora, HBO go

Make sure you have the right Key/passphrase for your modem when you set up the box.

Never had that problem with RD I use Rapid Gator a lot. The only cap they have is on data you share with others. I never have a stream stop in the middle but I know some ISP's are diffenent. They are trying to control our lives everywhere anymore.

It's got an SS base & bezel on the outside of the panel, 4 hdmi inputs.

I don't use the base though, I mounted them on the wall.

Yeah with the Academy's over here is a list we watched. Arrival, Passengers, Piper, Lion, Fences, Hidden Figures, Moonlight, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, Suicide Squad, Moana,Zootopia, Stream ON. All were good but Piper is a must see for a feel good 6 minutes. Really cute. We started La La Land but not really our kind of movie.
