If you crimp both ends, i.e. just what's on the wick?, where is the positive connection for the coil?
I am so not understanding
~ sorry

I want at least a 2 ohm coil. Do you think 32 or 30 Kanthal would be better?
Yes it's for the heat to stay at the coils and your resistance is based on the length of the coil wrap and not the entire length of the wire from terminal to terminal. Its also to avoid hot lines to the posts as well.
Incidentally it also protects the insulators.
I wouldn't rebuild a ViVi or vision without Nr due to the heat loss from that long travel distance for the wires

I've found killers, and replacement ceramics. Just ordered one and ten ceramics, plus a neat drip tip to turn a A7 dripper into a Spheriod type clone. They have decent prices and shipping wast bad. Just ordered this am so we'll see how it goes.

4 wraps, with both legs NR.
I connect them with sterling silver crimping beads. No twisting required.
And I don't think the notify lists work.. I put myself on a notify list and never got notified!
I do both legs NR .. keeps your heat actually at your coil, and keeps your ohms low.
The silver does conduct, it's just super low resistance wire, not technically NR. The silver crimp beads don't add any extra resistance, despite being thicker than the silver wire.
It helps you to make the same ohm coil every time too, if you know your ohms/inch of your R wire, just cut your wire, crimp one side, and measure for where to crimp the other side. I don't do that, I just eyeball it, and get close enough every time.
Easy as pie.
I got them here:
Rio Grande jewelry making supplies, jewelry tools and jewellery supply
You need to make an account to see the price, but here they are:
$4.28 per box of 100 beads if you buy 1 or 2
$3.71 each for 3-4 boxes
$3.20 each for 5-9 boxes
$2.88 each for 10-19 boxes
Don't know how many to order? You need 2 beads per coil. Expect to lose a few during the learning process... if you crimp too hard you could snap your wire (just like tightening down a post too far).
I picked up the 1mm beads with the .025" hole. Works very well. It would still work with 30g silver and 30g kanthal/nichrome. (about .005" left of space with those wires. With 32g kanthal/nichrome there is .007" empty space in the hole. PLENTY of space!)
I also picked up this tiny crimper. Works wonderfully.

They also sell 30g silver wire for a fair price and you can pick however many feet you want.
Thank you Adeline! For the wire, should I get sterling or .999? Dead soft right?

I couldn't find the ceramic replacements. Do you have a direct link to them. I must be blind.![]()
Here you go.
Thanks but it says dripper replacement heads. Do these have the ceramic cup that fit in the killer?
Yup, they come pre-coiled like that, in the cup. The same heads fit the Spiral, the Pro and the Killer.
There must be a cheaper place for you to find CE2 cups in America though, if the cup is all you need? Any vendors selling CE2s off in a clearance or anything?
Dripper ceramics come with the coil, and they're the same ceramic as the Killer.
My spare ceramics came marked as Dripper replacements.
Adeline, are they the same ceramic cups that are used in the drunker? I think I remember reading that CE2 ceramic cups fit in the drunker, so if the CE2's also fit the killer, maybe the drunker cups will fit the killer.
