Thanks guys. I was reading through the thread; it sounds like Vaperflexion is going to create a custom glass tank for The Killer. I hope soon. :)

Jack, I read someone else say that the Ibtanked tanks don't work well with The Killer, unfortunately. I have a couple too that I could have used. Unless you are using one and it works? Are you?

Hello, I am an RBA noob. I've worked with a Z Atty Pro, but that is the extent of my rebuilding experience thus far.

Is it necessary to use non-resistance wire when rebuilding the coil on The Killer? I ask because the videos I watched from the company, I'm not seeing them twist anything together.

If it is necessary, or even recommended, HELP. I know about 28 gauge kanthal, 30 gauge kanthal, etc., but how do I relate .20mm, .23mm and .27mm that I see on Greek Vapes to that? Yeah, yeah, noobville, I know. :p

Please splain. :)

It's not absolutely necessary but highly recommended. Not using NR wire causes too much heat. I'm not real sure why or where. Somebody more techy than me can answer that. .999 pure silver 30ga is what I use. You can also use nickel.

Ok. Thanks. May I ask where you get it from?

So, is the goal to twist the silver wire to the kanthal at the end and then use the silver wire to thread down into the cup? Is that close? :)

I see that in this video the non-resistance wire is mentioned, but I still am clueless about where the kanthal should end and the non-resistance wire should start, etc.

How did you figure out you had to do this? Osmosis? :)

I can't remember where I got mine but if you google .999 pure silver wire you'll get lots of hits.

Yes, just twist the 2 wires together 4-5 times and then wrap the silver wire around the twists about 3 times then give a gentle tug to be sure they stay connected. Both wires will go down into the cup. You'll see 2 holes. The resistant wire goes up inside the ceramic tube and the NR wire gets trapped in the threads when you screw the top on. If you go to Greek Vapes there is a video that shows how to do this.

You will generate too much heat without the NR wire , as well your ohms will be much higher because if you used RW the whole way down both sides for your connections you're adding that length in too. Just use the NR - RW - NR setup like you're supposed to. If you don't want to do the twisting thing (which isn't terribly hard once you get the hang of it)

Watch Todd's video if you're unsure how to do it.

Or just buy some of these.

As for where to buy the wire , I just purchased this off eBay myself. It's not here yet but I can give some impressions over the silver I've been using once I build a few with it.

Pure Nickel wire (non resistance wire ) 32 awg 100 ft

That seller also has a ton of other wire for rebuildables too.

I didn't see the thread on the Killer not working with IBTanked tanks but I don't understand why they wouldn't unless they were referring to the line of side fill tanks, I think they're called Sidewinders. (They may cause a vapor lock situation when filling, much as the problems some people have had with top fill tanks. Other than that I don't see why their ordinary tanks wouldn't work. (Obviously I may be wrong.)

I have several Phiniac tanks but they're all XK and I don't have a long straight drip tip, nor could I find one in stock, so they're still gathering dust. I have a bunch of old plastic tanks so tried one of them just for giggles. Works fine, better than fine. My all day vape is a DIY Apple Fritter with a very heavy percentage of cinnamon and it just a matter of time before it eats through the plastic so I ordered the IBTanked. Should be here Monday so I'll see if there's something about it that the Killer doesn't like.

Chadsmo is right, crimping beads makes life a lot easier, especially if arthritis in the fingers is a concern. I started by twisting and learned very quickly that there had to be an easier and less painful way. I got the beads and crimping tool from Rio Grande as well as .999 silver wire. (You can buy it in one-foot increments at 15 cents per foot. Once you develop your own system using the beads becomes a non-event but some sort of magnification makes it easier if you don't have eyes like an eagle.

Making coils/wicks for the Killer seems a bit daunting at first but the learning curve is surprisingly short... and well worth the effort.

Hey cool. He fills like I do. Opens the juice control before snapping the bottom cap on. I have to do it that way because my tanks inner orings are too tight to open and close the juice control.

You'll find that the ceramic cup is not very easy to get back in, at least it's not for me. Make sure it is on the tube straight and either put your finger or thumb on the bottom pin so it won't get forced out when you push the cup on or screw the killer on a mod, I use an old ego, and then push the cup on. The mod will keep the pin from coming out. If it does come out just push it back in and start again.

I've read where a lot of people are using the killer in IBTanked tanks and don't seem to have any problems.

Have you looked into drip tip extenders? I have one coming to try the killer in my Phiniac Tall boys.

Yeah, TM... I ordered one from Avid, (I think), then a few minutes later I ordered the IBTanked. I rationalized to my self that with the extender I'd be able to use a Phiniac on one Provari and the IBTanked on the other Provari. I'm really good at rationalizing, right now I use the Killers on BF Reos and BF Red Sky mods, they work great as BF, fantastic taste. (Took the juice out of my plastic tank before I had to clean up a mess.

I just needed an excuse to buy a couple new toys... I really, really like new toys. I find them to be much less expensive than another ex-wife.

WIN!

So I was bored and had nothing to do. I'm finding as a vaper when I'm bored with nothing to do I rebuild something lol.

So went to wrap a twisted 32 coil on my AGAT2 and saw I was out of twisted wire. So I got out my drill and a light bulb in my head turned on.

I thought 'I can just make the hole in that damned top cap bigger!' So I grabbed the biggest bit I had which was just a bit smaller than the hole in the top cap and fired the drill up and just put pressure on until it was just big enough to fit in.

I had to use a bullet drip tip I had to buy myself the 3mm or so that I needed but it seems to be working. I've only had about 5 drags on it but so far no dry hits and no leaks that I can see.
