I've been busy painting and tearing out a kitchen countertop, sweeping, washing windows. Haven't been on the treadmill in a couple days, but I think my daily routine will be sufficient! Lots of bending, stretching, ladder climbing and not to mention the property is on the third floor!!!
To date I have lost a total of 26 lbs.

That's awesome!!!! I remember remodeling our kitchen....was so excited to do it, but then was so ready for it to be done. Felt like it was a never ending project!

I wish it was my kitchen. It is a rental property that has taken a year to get to closing. I hope all this work pays off-there were still parts of me that I had no clue I had not been exercising-LOL!

Been there done that with the muscles.....it's like dang.....where did those come from

Nice daily inspiration Starry!!

Toto, am happy the surgery is over and am now waiting to know it was completely successful. And I agree it is better to know rather than wonder about things.

HzG8rGrl, 26 lbs!!!! woot!!!!!!!! lol @ just when you think you're exercising well, new muscles show up. :)

Fudgey, yay to mini workouts! I had a decent week myself. :D

Starry, still loving the daily thoughts. Especially the one about excuses - hit kinda close to home.

That's great news!!! How long will it take to know if it worked?

Sorry, I have been absent. I have been off kelter with the world. When I came to the thread-view first unread post-it was starry's "Sometimes you just have to pick yourself up and carry on." Hummm....

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

It will be 3-4 month's before they will know if the surgery will hold for Dallen. He has to lay facing the floor 45min out of every hr for a week at least. He can sleep on his side with his head elevated. He did not want to do the surgery in the first place, so can imagine how hard it is to keep him down as the pain subsides. Like Lynn says he is at the age where you function in the moment.

He was ran over by a hit and run boat 5 1/2 years ago. The propeller caught him slashing across his left cheek, nose, forehead, clear up to the top of his skull. Drs were amazed he was alive when they got to the hospital, and again when he came out of the coma. They were not going to remove the blood behind his retina because they thought he was going to be blind anyhow. Several specialists at UCLA conferred and decided that he had defied all odds up til then so they would do the surgery to give him a chance to have sight with his left eye. As time has passed his retina did respond to light when held in certain places, but he hasn't been able to see. Two-3 years ago he would not even have been able to pass a driving test as the vision in his right eye was getting bad. They did therapy and his good eye in conjunction with the peripheral vision from his blind eye his vision improved. He was able to get his driver's license this past summer. One of my big concerns in addition to him totally loosing the left eye without a chance of medical advancement making it possible or the miracle for which we all have kept praying that he might see someday that without the left eye at all his right eye will get worse again.

Hz, I'll be waiting on you to get here. Lots of things that need attention in my kitchen. Well the whole place for that matter. Besides that I know I would love your cooking.... Congrats on the 26lb loss. Sounds as though you are still loosing past your goal.....

Way to go with the mini workout Fudgey and your walking CES. I have gotten in a walk or two since I checked in is all. Good going though everyone. Slow and steady is good.

Let's all send positive vibes to Classy and her husband Steve.

My goodness Toto-that is a lot for a young one to go through. He seems to be a fighter and willing to go through all the necessary pain and non-comfort to get back what he can. Thumbs up and a big hug from me to him!
I love redecorating and bring homes to life with new color schemes and new finishes.

As for my continued weight loss-I have added back some more carbs in hopes of maintaining. This will take practice as I have gotten so used to having low carb meals and do not really want what I have been doing without.

Awe-Thanks Classy. You keep your head up and keep on having good thoughts! Love ya girl! I think of ya'll everyday❤

Keep the quotes coming Starry-We need the reminders.

once again, you hit the nail on the head Starry.

Toto, I'm amazed at Dallen's strength and perseverance. To come from that level of accident and be able to move forward until he could get his drivers license is pretty powerful. Sending positive thoughts that he continues to beat the odds and recovers well and completely - with vision restored.

Hurray!!! I finally worked out!!!

This video helped me get in great shape (along with running) a few years ago and I was able to maintain for a couple of years. Then last year I got pregnant and had a subsequent miscarriage and I have just been packing on the pounds...this is day one of my full recovery! The last couple of months have been about eating well and remembering portion control ...now I'm fully equipped to tackle this weight again!!:D
