Been a PAD for over 30 years. Started vaping 2 months ago and watched my cig use slowly drop. Over the last few weeks I was stuck at ~2 cigs per day. Usually they were done a few puffs at a time as they tasted bad (but you knew that). I got down to 1 or less a day and determined that they were situational related. So many years of taking the dog out to the side door and having a smoke while waiting for her to come in.
=> It was the place and time to smoke in my mind.

Yesterday I came to this realization and decided enough is enough!

I chained vaped prior to going out, and of course brought my PV with me. I went over and smelled my ashtray (yuck) and followed it with some chain vaping. I then firmly told myself "NO!" a few times. Kind of like waving goodbye to a departing "friend". Then I let the dog back in and just vaped the balance of the day. Did another round of the above process in the evening as well.

Today I did the same. It's mid day here now but I'm approaching day 2 of NO ANALOGS!

Yippee for me. I rewarded myself yesterday and bought an rba for my mod.

I just thought I would share as I could NEVER have done this without reading ECF posts - this is a wonderful place.
If my story can help somebody at any level - be strong and battle the demon.

I think it's time for a sig/tag-line counter!

Grats!!

BTW how I separated myself from cigarettes - literally.

At first I was paranoid about my vaping equipment breaking down. I kept carrying my cigs in their accustomed pocket but twice caught myself trying to light one out of habit. So I moved them to the opposite pocket and put my ecigs in the old "cigarette" pocket. A couple of weeks later, once I had backups and chargers at both at home and work, I stuck the cigs and lighter in a plastic grocery bag, tied it shut and tossed it in the trunk of my car. That way they were always close just in case I had a major equipment failure but also far away. I never touched them. Eventually I threw them out.

Thanks!

I think the jist of this thread is about the last 10% of the smoking habit/addiction.
Once you figure out the hardware/juice/nic levels etc the remainder is "everything else".
For some it is situational, others proximity, others ???

Armed with the resolve and desire to completely quit - the rest is an individual thing.

Just my $0.01999

Coming from someone smoke free for 2 days and counting!
