Hey, I just saw a wedding between a girl in the States and a fella in Afghanistan over the phone by a judge and I guess it's perfectly legal. This gave me an idea!
You know the new gay marriage law in New York? You've seen it on the news, I am sure. They said there is NO residency requirement for these marriages, you just need to go to NY State and get 'er done. So how's this for an idea:
Given:
1. The US accepts "electronic Signatures
2. NY has no residency requirements
3. People can now video-chat over the Internet
There is, then, no reason some enterprising NY Justice of the Peace couldn't set up an on-line wedding chapel and perform perfectly legal weddings for couples, gay or not, from anywhere in the US. Most other states will recognize NY marriages, so Bob's your uncle!
