A group of soldiers are going into war and as the general is handing out guns, he runs out on the last person. "Well, I have an idea, son," the general jokingly says, "When the enemy gets near, you just stick your hand out like a gun and yell 'Bangety Bang!'"
"Sir, are you kidding me, sir?", the young recruit asks.
"You have your orders!"
"Yes, sir!". When they all get themselves dug in on the battlefield, the soldier reaches out of his foxhole, points his hand out of his like a gun and yells "Bangety Bang!" at all enemies coming in range. To his surprise, it works. He yells "Bangety Bang! Bangety Bang!" and enemy soldiers are dropping dead left and right.
However, some of the enemies are successfully dodging his fire and getting way too close for comfort, so during a break in the fighting, the young soldier goes back to his general for his advice. The general tells him, "When an enemy gets within reach, pretend you have a bayonet on the end of your finger and yell, 'Stabity Stab!'"
Back in his foxhole, the soldier is yelling "Bangety Bang" and again the enemies are falling left and right. When some successfully dodge his fire and get too close, he yells, "Stabity Stab! Stabity Stab!" and that finishes them off. It's a long battle and the soldier bravely keeps up the "Bangety Bang!" and "Stabity Stab!". It's "Bangety Bang! Bangety Bang!", "Stabity Stab! Stabity Stab!" all through the long night.
When one enemy appears in the early dawn, the soldier bravely yells, "Bangity Bang! Bangity Bang!". But this time, the enemy keeps charging. When the enemy gets closer, the soldier yells, "Stabity Stab! Stabity Stab!". And, surprisingly, this enemy is still charging. Again, "Stabity Stab!", but nothing is stopping this new enemy. As the doomed young soldier is being run down, he hears the enemy soldier yell, "Tankety Tank! Tankety Tank! Tankety Tank!"
