I've been trying to use a 4.0 ohm carto (from GotVapes) on my LT, and it only shows 3.4-3.8 ohms under load. I have it set at 4.2V, and I don't get a good vape from it. If I try to up the voltage, I get a harsh taste. Lower voltage, and no TH or flavor. GRRR!! Any suggestions? I feel like a noob again! :D Many thanks for any info!

Need a little more info. What type of juice are you using? Ratio? How much do you put in your carto? Do you take a really slow pull from your carto, medium, or fast?

At first glance I would say try a 2.0-3.0ohm carto. But maybe you don't have enough juice in there for when you crank up the voltage, maybe you are taking to slow of a pull.

I use ECOpure Rich--100% VG. I can't use PG at all. For a 100% VG juice, it's as thick as PG. The other VG juices I tried were too thin.

I first used a 2.6-2.8 ohm carto. Now I'm using a 4.0 ohm carto from Got Vapes: GotVapes Vision HV MINI Extreme Tank 2.2ml - 4.0ohm - $5.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I usually take a slow steady pull when I vape. I'll try it differently to see what happens.:) I keep the carto topped off, but not enough to flood the coil.

I'm glad I'm not the only noob in this thread! :) Many thanks for the help!

orachel,
It's been a few days since I've checked in with you. I received my orders. The Vapor Room order kind of amazed me; seven bottles of different sizes, flavors and some with extra flavor shots. They got it all correct and labeled wll too. Packed it very well also. I'm letting it all steep and I'm going to do a carto cleaning tomorrow and start tasting. They all smell really good.
From Vapor's Choice I got one bottle of a tobacco flavored juice and the Excalibur Tank. Believe it or not I haven't tried it yet because it is too beautiful to use. I just want to keep looking at it in its pristine condition (a case of wanting my cake and eating it too.) I think I'm going to find a favorite flavor with the Vivi Nova tank (which has been working fine BTW) and break in the Excalibur with that in a small taste test.
I'll let you know what I think.

Oh yay! Crossing fingers on all the juice... never tried the tobacco at Vapors-choice since I'm not really a tobacco person, but hopefully that'll be yummy. And yeah, I know, isn't that Apollo/E2/Excalibur tank pretty? lol Can't believe that hefty cool looking thing is a $7 tank. GOOD news is you can literally syringe out the juice...from the TOP, not the bottom... if you unscrew the bottom when its full for any reason, all vacuum seal breaks, and the juice runs out both ends, including out the driptip, all over your lap. Unscrew top and carefully pour or syringe juice out... unscrew bottom = bad news. I'm sitting in a puddle of Blackberry Limoncello for just that reason. rofl... and just rinse the tank with water, and sorta rinse the carto part itself (unscrews from the base) and get the wicks well rinsed and sorta pat em dry, and then you're ready for another flavor. Cant' believe how easy that tank is to clean, and it literally looks good as new. ;) Crossing fingers on the TVR, really really!

Oh and Trunkinlady... I used my little baby hi voltage visions with REALLY thick 100% VG, I was just in a fog when I read your post last night. BUT clearo things, especially visions, tend to have a breaking in period between 1-2 tanks worth before they perform really well. Thinking you're just stuck in that right now, so I'd just get the voltage somewhere between where it hits like you're vaping air and where it burns your throat out, and get thru the first 2 tanks, and then it'll be better. I'm not a huge fan of visions for that reason. BUT those baby ones were the best I tried. ;)

Very interesting, i am the same way.....i even asked some veterans on this, and give what i was experiencing due to it, may i ask why you can't? I want to use it to compare notes.....I think it would be interesting for the July issue of my vaping magazine to reach out to the VG vapors so as n00b's know they are not alone

Yeah, thinking she's using Virgin Vapor 100% VG

Interesting, as i did do a order up to Canada here from Honey Ville Vapor (sorry, but there RY4 and Apple pie @18mg is YUM!!!), it was thick as pea soup. I needed to use a LR three hole single coil (sorry i have a issue with this information going around saying that all you need to do is take a dual coil and cut one wire so as only only coil will work....umm this means the second would create a short  unless i am wrong?) cart for my tank and i was enjoying a 3.8 vape, and fogging up the room :p

When i got 100% VG from a company here in Canada (i keep wanting to say cana-duh!? sorry it is part of a few inside jokes) called jug heads, i mean it is nice, but it is like a thin pg.....so does this mean it is cut (or thinned) with pg or is there some other agent out there that will thin it?

quick some one talk me down man......i have been using my ego's and thinking about getting rid of the LT version 2.......i need intervention here.....

Constantine... PG allergy isn't at all uncommon. I figure 1-2 in 10 vapers are allergic with symptoms that range HUGELY. For me, if I vape PG I break out like CRAZY, and I'm an almost 37 year old woman who typically isn't prone to breakouts. NOT fun. My friend Rick has horrible itchy dermatitis and difficult labored breathing like symptoms from PG, severe and scary. I've heard everything from chronic cough to pimples and dermatitis to severe anaphylaxis and everything in between. So here's my thing on PG. I'm pretty into natural medicine stuff, due to my own health issues, and based on a ton of stuff I read at Natural Health Information Articles and Health Newsletter by Dr. Joseph Mercola, I think of pg as being much like aspartame. NOT at all a good thing to consume, but the average person can't ingest enough thru standard means to get sick off off of it. FDA approved, but not a 'healthful' substance, necessarily. It has all sorts of nerve irritation and liver issues in lab tests with animals, similar to aspartame (aspartame causes different things, but both very negative in testing). Human studies are different, because they restrict the human consumption to a naturally ingested level, but again... that's just consuming smaller levels of a non healthful thing.. might not affect the average person badly, though. In fact, relatively benign to the average person. But if you get someone like me, with a compromised immuno response (severe fibro and associated yuck have pretty much decimated mine) or someone who is naturally susceptible to it, then you can have some significant issues with it. Now I still consume a little pg, just cause most non organic juices have pg in the flavorings themselves, even if the base is 100% VG, but I seriously moderate my intake. There's TONS of 'pg sensitive' people out there. Of course, on the flip side, there's some that are sensitive to VG as well. My general feeling about that is they tend to be people with pulmonary issues, and the VG molecule is just much larger than pg, and thus they cough a lot. I'm by NO means an expert, but once I figured out PG is where my skin issues were coming from, I did a bit of research and that's sort of the natural health thinking on PG. BUT I will say there's tons of info in the health area here, if you need info for your article. And by the way, I don't eat artificial sweeteners, either. ;)

And I've had 100% Vg juice that ranges from super thick sludge to that which is as thin as water. Many of the vendors who sell a thin vg (think virgin vapor and highbrow vapor) thin it with distilled H2O or a pure grain alcohol (you don't metabolize it, it burns off in the vaping process... but it does build in a bit of a throat hit that you don't get from VG).

I love Virgin Vapor! :) But I also order my ECOpure Rich directly from Intellicig-usa.com. And I'll keep trying with the Vision carto/tanks, too. Maybe I've not given it enough break in time. Thanks for the info! :)

I'm not allergic to PG per se, but it gives me a bad cough, and a nasty taste in my mouth. To me PG tastes like plastic--and I've ruled out any other causes. At first I thought it was the cartos I used, but I get the same taste no matter which cartos I've tried. So, I don't use PG at all. Maybe if I get brave enough, I'll try a different vendor's PG one day! :)

I second that, they work better than real good as a drip atty
If any of you have some Phoenix XL, CE3 bottom coil type cartos that haven't worked out for you they can be made into an excellent tool (assuming the coils are still good) for testing your juices without having to fill up a tank to discover you don't like it. If interested look at my post #1723 in this forum.

dwcraig... your avatar is faaabulously freaky! Was just talking about the wildness of Joker the other day. ;) I'm such an uber geek-ette. lol And Errol, going to read your post now, since I'm constantly on the hunt for a good way to 'taste' juices with diy. I love the avidvaper 306 cisco attys, but cleaning attys is such a royal pain in the tailfeathers, and I don't drip that often, on day to day, so I don't have many of them. Makes it a pain in the tail to diy. I've been wanting to try the phoenix anyway, and this is as good a reason as any to give em a whirl. ;)
