hello, kinda new here. i really wanted to wait and grab a provari, but cause of $$ i got the volcano tube instead. im liking the volcano tube so far except that i dont seem to be getting the best performance. i have a local brick and mortar near by called E-CIG City.. i bought a tank there and a few dual coil cartos. the guy there actually clipped off one of the coils saying the volcano will perform better as a single coil. it kinda does. the volcano has Amperage Limiting to 2.5 amps. what exactly does that mean?? and does any one know the best cartos for that limiting of 2.5 amps?? any help is appreciated.. by the way i use the cartos in tanks

Not real sure about what to use as I don't actually own a Lava or L-Rider type APV. I think I have read it is best to use a 3.0ohm or higher on that device though. Also FYI, there is a brick and mortar in Bellflower/Downey area called VapeRevolution. They are right off the 91/605 fwy and Alondra Blvd. You should check them out.... They are on Facebook also....

So about a week ago I purchase a LT from a forum member at a great price and brand new included everything but the charger, so I ordered one and got here today was very excited until I made the first rookie mistake I couldnt get the thing to fire up (battery security) haha!. So after all the blah! blah! blah! I get it going. WOW this thing is different than my twist what I usssually vape at 4v in the twist I cannot do on the LT. Now I am a Happy vaper still trying to figure out the flavors that are coming out of this thing.

Hey icu,
the 2.5amps is actually a limit of the current the device will handle. It is figured out using the formulas base on Ohms Law.
without going into the math (unless you would like me to) the idea is that the 2.5Amp limit is actually a protection built into the LT. That means that rather than allow you to set your voltage at such a high level that it would blow a low resistant device (carto, atty, etc.) it will drop the voltage to 3.0 volts even if it is set for 5volts, for instance.
Clipping the top wire of a dual coil carto WILL result in a single coil carto but it is not the number of coils that matter, it is the resistance (ohms).
If you look back some pages in this thread orachel has put in a link to a very long but very good REVIEW by Phil Busardo at his site 'www.tasteyourjuice.com'. Ok, I went and found theLINK for you. This explains the 2.5amp limit with charts for each resistance device.
I hope this helps you to understand what is happening with your tube and how to find your "sweet spot."

First I thought the pin was was moving because the 510 connection on the vivi looked more like scrap metal, but it still moves with both new vivi tanks. I was using the 3.5 tank adapter, but still had to fiddle with how much to tighten it every time cause all the way gets no airflow. That was only allowing the vivi to screw in less than a full turn. If I just loosened it it would practically fall off. So now I just stick the 510 to 510 shorty on there and could care less how it looks cause it works. Now if I could only get that thing off the vivi threads without pliers everything would be great.

Munch,
I went to a local (Orlando, Florida) vaper's meet-and-greet last Saturday and was discussing the Vivi Nova/ Ltube problem with Lord Davon, the reviewer, (he lives arourd here) and he has a solution he says will help the whole thing including not getting enough thread grab. Before I try it I want to buy another tank to have just in case it doesn't work, and also set up to take pictures of the mod so everyone will understand what I did.
Hopefully his idea will work (in theory it should) and all these problems will be solved. I'll order my new tank in the begining of next week and will try his fix with pictures as soon as it arrives.

WoW!! So i bought some grape carto's from v2cigs(my first kit) just for the fun of it and I was not getting a good flavor from it so I put it on my LT and BOOM! I cannot beleive the flavor and vapor I am getting from this (actually sorry I gave away 3 carto's). This and the ywist are my first vv's and I cannot complain about it.

Problem I'm having with the LT is voltage under load. Just checked it and it's set on 4 volts and is giving 3,7 under load. That is with a 2.4 ohm CE3. It should easily push 4 volts through that and it's not. It's like that with everything I have checked.Of course with the newer versions (I have v1) thats less of a problem. I will have a ProVari next week. The LT is a fine device but I want more.

If memory serves me correctly, I think even the Provari has a drop under load as well.... Just not as significant.... but .3 is not bad for a V1 LT.... I don't think there is an APV out there that doesn't drop under load....

I've had .5-.7 differences also. I don't mean to degrade it, I like it a lot and it's a fine device. And economical for a tube vari-volt. I would have no problem recommending it. It will still get plenty of use, but a ProVari is in my immediate future.

I'd like to see the voltage output under load! That would be a nicer feature than battery volt under load I think! Or at least a very good addition.

Afaik, only Volcano and apollo have one year warranties on them.

Yeah I just checked with Volcano's site thanks. I know how strong Apollos warranty is, they are freaking awesome and really stand behind there stuff. Does anybody know if Volcano does too, or is it a big pain in the rear if something goes wrong with your unit to get it replaced?
