Heya :)

I have decided my next purchase will be a VV mod, and so far I have narrowed it down to either the Lavatube or Provari, there is just a few things I am curious about.

Apart from looks (imo Provari wins hands down) and price (well ... lol) are there any major differences that I haven't been able to see?

I don't stay in the US, so some warranties may not apply to me (or shipping may make them almost pointless).

Thanks!

The Provari is as you say much better looking . It is also very well crafted and designed and is built to last.
The voltage regulation is of a much higher quality as compared to the Lavatube and delivers (with precision) all across the range.

The selling point of the Lavatube is value for money . It is VV (with a few compromises with respect to low res ) at a very affordable price.

In my opinion
If you can afford the Provari then you are looking for a good looking , well built and well designed mod that delivers then go with the Provari.

If you want "more bang for your buck" , want true VV at and affordable price then go for the Lavatube.

There really are reasons that a Provari (mod only, not the full kit) costs the same as three Lava Tubes (mod only, not the full kit)

All I can say is that holding a ProVari feels a lot better than a LavaTube. While I'm sure the LavaTube is a fine mod (the person who let me check theirs out was happy with it and it looked like it performed well; I didn't vape it though, I only held it) it really feels like a toy while the ProVari feels like a solid, well built device. Based on this alone I was glad I didn't buy the LavaTube to have as a cheap backup, I'm probably just going to get another ProVari! Not saying the LavaTube is a piece of junk or anything, I couldn't make that assessment based on what I know, but I wouldn't trade my ProVari for 5 of them!

I'm game with dobbs here. I have ordered a LavaTube.

Reason is that I wanna try out VV for cheap, and that I still use a few analogs. Down to 5-10+, instead of my former PAD+ habit.

If the Lavatube works well enough with dual coil/tank, and I find the right frop-juuse - I might get a Provari.

The way I think of it, is that you can save a lot on ecigs, but there is no reason to shell out the extra cash before you know that you are gonna use it for a while. And either way, you gotta need 18650 batteries. In a few months, you will have a lavatube in a drawer somewhere, either because you are using your brand spanking new provari, or because you stopped vaping.

BTW: You can buy both the Lavatube and the Provari from UK vendors. Not sure if it's ok to post links to vendors, so I'll skip that part. Just gooogle.

You can, but unless someone is offering a deal on the provari in the uk its still cheaper to import direct from provape, even after import duties. Warranty shipping if needed should not incur further customs charges

Speaking from experience, having owned a Lavatube myself, I can honestly say the Provari is a better made mod. The Lavatube is built for price minded individuals. It's also mostly plastic, the end caps often came loose or didn't fit well, the LCD display window looked like a Kindergartner glued it in and the button was always wonky.

I love Volcano, don't get me wrong. They have great mods and great people. But the Lavatube is just a money waster if your thinking about long term vaping and money spent on Mods. Go with the Provari.

(And I say this having never owned a Provari. Someday. *looks up at the sky with my hands under my chin like Auntie Em just promised me a cookie*)

the lt has a limiter built in that won't let you go above 3.7 on DCCs and LR attys or LR single coil cartos. It "WILL" rock the full range from 3.2 to 6 v using any 3ohm or higher atty or single coil carto.

the provari is a $200 top of the line tube mod and the lavatube is a very good, well performing affordable alternative to those that may not be willing/able to spend the higher price.

FWIW, I own a LT and it vapes like a train.

I would honestly suggest other options. There are TONS of great VV mods out there. The provari is kind of the "apple" product of the vaping world. A huge following who drank the koolaid. Check out the Saber Touch, which of all the mods I've used is the most dependable and best made VV mod out there - AND it's cheaper than the Provari!

Not to mention you can get any color you want (literally, any color. Any shade with any kind of finish) and design that you can imagine. =)

I've dropped my saber 15 feet to a cement floor and the saber didn't get scratched. The concrete actually chipped. I'm not kidding.

Other great options are the mods at http://motorcitymodz.com/e107_plugins/easyshop/easyshop.php are AWESOME. Great looking, affordable, and made of great quality products.

My opinion is yes the Provari is the very good, but I just purchased a variation of the Lava Tube through Apollo Cigs and there Lava Tube(The Apollo Vtube) is actually made of of Stainless Steel, including both caps top and bottom! The Stainless Steel Edition is limited to the first 500 hundred buyers and will be available 03/31/12. You must put in a PRE-ORDER now while it is still available! The price I paid was $63.90 with FREE shipping! It is a KIT you get! For that price you CANNOT beat it! Like I said the Limited Stainless Steel Edition is limited in quantities! Go to apolloecigs.com to check out the pics on it! You won'be disappointed! Forgot to mention use REDDIT for coupon code!

    apolloecigs.com check it out!
