Just a heads up Leaford, we were talking the other night about one of my Palament carto's not having the slot cut deep enough, well I've now found three of them this way.
I can fix them easy enough, so it's no biggie for me, and this is the first time I've come across it, but three in two boxes raises a concern.

I have a Nuport that may have this problem too. I see a slot cut it in, but it does look fairly shallow, and I get almost no airflow with it. Was a little disappointed as it was the menthol cart I brought with me to work today, ended up having to go the whole day without menthol :(

You get what you pay for, I hope they start making Cartos in America soon.

You cant be serious? Here’s a little exercise for you. Stop, look around you and start picking up everything around you looking for "Made in ****". At my desk 95% has "Made in China" on it. Hell I think my scotch tape dispenser is the only thing here made in the USA and its a plastic shell filled with sand.

sawlight,I just got a box of parlimant carts with yesterdays order that have the label overlapping the slots, they work just have to cut slit over slots to get air flow also the same with caramel mocha frap. Each box all 5 so I can't tell if slots are deep enough though, but at least they work!

Sounds like I need to get myself a set of digital calipers. :grr:

Have no fear, I will be on the case, and nothing will be shipping until I get back and can check them.

Meantime, I will notify the engineers, and have them check for me; I'm in good with them. :thumb:

Sawlight, how deep did you say the bad grooves were? They should be 0.2mm.

I ordered 4 boxes of parlament carts and all of them have the label placed wrong so it's covering the slots. You can take a razor blade, cut the label away from the slots and they'll work fine (it's a pain in the a** though). The flavor is also wrong. They don't taste at all like my blue labeled parlaments (these are pea green). They taste closer to Cowboy, not near as good as the parlaments I ordered in the past.

The grooves are fine. The label is placed wrong and covering the slots. Flavor is way off too. See my above post.

IceCreMan,

My motto is that the customer is always right, and if you are dissatisfied please PM or e-mail Mark, and he will make it right. And the stickers were a real error that slipped by me due to illness at the time, so you are absolutely right there by any standard.

But the only thing that changed about the Parliament was the color, which was a printer error. The flavor is absolutely 100% the same. And many people both in and out of the V4L crew can attest to that. It is an interesting fact, and in this case an unfortunate one, that color affects our perception of flavor. We experienced this also with the last batch of Pina Colada, which the printers also screwed up, making them a dark blue instead of light blue. Nothing else changed, but some people thought the flavor tasted different.

Here are some research papers on the subject, reposted from http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/56091-new-parliment.html#post841254:

"and yes, food color does influence what flavor people think they are tasting."

This is especially the case where a food product is sold through its appearance, rather than through its packaging. In addition, appearance can have a halo effect which modifies subsequent flavour perception and food acceptability"

Like I said, feel free to contact Mark, at V4L, we're not happy until you are SMILIN. But the difference in taste you are perceiving is a psychological illusion.

That'a actually a seperate issue, Saw and I hashed that out before in another thread. He measuered the slot with digital calipers, and it is too shallow. But that doesn't seem to be a consistent problem among all the carts.

Leaford,

Thanks for the info but there is absolutely a difference in flavor. I agree with you about the color affecting perception but this tastes just like some cowboy VG juice that I have. I also have the older parlaments and tried them side by side with the new ones today and they're definitely different. In addition I have a Hilton that's pea green but it tastes the same as my older hiltons so color had no effect here.

It all good, it wasn't just you, I've heard it a couple of times, just wanted to clarify!

And if it sounds like I am complaining, I AM NOT! I have no doubt that if I said anything in the comments I'd have a new pack coming, but I can fix these, and I have a new pack coming that I won in the mod contest so all is good with me.
I just wanted to point it out so others wouldn't have the same problem as I am.

Might I offer a good, immediate fix? I use a 901batt cartzer adapter with those cartomizers that have a tight airflow/shallow vent slot (you can drill a hole in a 901manualbatt-charger adapter, too).

Using the adapter adds an airhole so shallow-drafted cartzers can breathe (and doubles as a juice-trap for those occassional overfilled refilled carts). And it's a lot easier than trying to dremel slots. Plug and play!

Hope this helps! (p.s., Merry Christmas, Leaf ! Glad to see you're back on your feet quickly! )
