Who cares, i removed the paint from my white X2 and it's now stainless.
I have a buch of gold plated electronic connectors, i may reverse electroplate them to get their gold and then electroplate the body of the X2.
P IM P GOLD.
But i have no idea it it will look better shiny or dull. Plus i have to sandblast the logo on it.

Ive worked out what started my blue spinner to peel... ...rings on my fingers coming in contact with the paint...TAP!!TAP!! crack crack!! like what kon says who cares....theres a ton ideas to to jazz the spinners up again....even if stickers, or wrap cut outs ,nail decals, don't last.....you can keep changing the look...also with my rainbow spinner #s being hard to read...I cut out a glitter silver wrap boarder line...worked out ...placement of the numbers..wrote them on....stuck it on....abracadabra!! debra can read the dial #s...;)

I have a 5month old blue x2, and it has a couple of nicks... Quite frankly, I'm amazed that that is the worst of it.

Some other vendors have a 15 day DOA policy only, so if SI doesn't wanna honor the paint job, I don't have an issue with it.

OTOH, I have a little chrome spinner, and the voltage markers are wearing off. It is kinda annoying since I can't see 3.8v & 4.3v any more. I have to guess at it a little more. I may have to go "ghetto" and find another way to mark them, like a little piece of tape.

I have a blue 650 I bought last September and a blue 1300 spinner I bought in February, both are still looking good, no peeling at all. Sorry that you folks are having that issue.

SteveI, Think about the spinner as having the button at noon, like a clock, 3.3 is at noon, 3.8 at 3 o'clock, 4.3 at 6 o'clock, and 4.8 at 9 o'clock. My numbers are not worn off but I can't see them without my glasses so I use that method so I can be lazy and not go find the glasses!

Really?? I expected some flaming from someone who is a SI cheerleader but a month of light use sitting upright not even on the paint and this is normal wear and tear??? Now I will admit I like their products and I wish they had stood behind their products better than this but this is NOT normal wear and tear. If you bought a car and the paint flaked off in a month would you say well you drove it for a month that is normal cause you was out on the roads?

I've had my spinner now for over a month. It has a black finish. I've dropped it, had it fall off my bed, and the finish is fine on mine. My 78 mm auto is starting to scratch a bit, and although it makes me upset to see it have dings, I also remind myself that it means it's receiving a lot of love. My spinner stays home, the 78 mm comes with me to work. Wonderful set up.

Sorry to hear you're having some problems with the finish on yours, but I think you're being a little bit pushy trying to ask for a replacement on something that is purely cosmetic.

I can tell you that the one and only time I had a problem with Smokeless Image (which wasn't even their fault, I later found out) their customer service helped me out the entire way, even though they didn't have to. They really try to help. You have to just deal with the fact that maybe you weren't being as gentle with your product as you think you've been.
