What is needed here is for someone with a dead non repairable Provari and LavaTube to strip them down and identify the exact parts used.

I choose the Provari and LavaTube because they are the only two similar boosted devices that I know of.

Perhaps this has already been done, I don't know.

My concern is the Booster components and circuit in each device. Are they indeed designed the same? What are the rated technical specs from the manufacturer of each part that makes up the circuit? If they are not designed the same, what are the differences?

We need part numbers (model and or serial numbers) and manufacturer technical specifications for each part.

If we can obtain this data and examine each unit at this level we can determine exactly why one appears to perform better than the other and vice versa under certain conditions.

I think this would be fun and educational.

Anyone care to help in this project?

( Please don't anyone attempt to open a working device for examination. It must be a device that is dead, non reparable and out of warranty with no chance of ever being used again.)

Thanks. I actually remember coming across that thread some time ago. It's a good start to the LavaTube components but we still need the Provari parts and specs.

My knowledge is more high voltage applications, home and commercial wiring and appliances, single, 3 phase etc. I can follow a wiring diagram but ever tackled micro electronics much (except a few simple projects). I deal with relays, transformers, capacitors and the like, so I'll be doing my best to keep up with this stuff.

Looking forward to what else folks can dig up.

I don't think anyone wants to disparage Provape. I don't want to speak for anybody else. I think the op is just trying to compare 2 different pv that use boosters. I don't have a Provari, but I can say from everything that I've heard that they are really great solid pv. I'd love a Provari, but right now I can't afford one. I don't think anyone would disagree that the quality of the Provari is much higher then the Lavatube.
Good luck finding a Provari which doesn't work.

I'm sure Volcano has a trash can full of LTs by now.

Your quest to disparage Provape sickens me...

The OP has made it very clear in other threads his dislike for Provape. This appears to be an attempt to break down the costs of each unit & determine the profit margins.

As I pointed out in another thread, it's impossible to compare the two when Chinese workers make $500 a month & American workers might make the same in a week.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It's really none of our business as far as profit margin goes. Our suppliers are business people that need to make money just like everyone else, and that is okay. If you make a quality product that people want, it will sell. AG id I knew that he's on a quest to bring down Provape or whatever, I would never have said anything. If anyone does any kind of research on the Porvari vs. Lavatube they should find that the Provari has a better build and is more money. I don't think that's a bad thing IMO. Trust me, if I had the extra cash I would no doubt get a Provari, but it's really tight now. I will have to do w/ a Lavatube. I think it will be impossible to say the Provari isn't worth it. IF that was the case, you would hear a lot of people saying it's a rip-off! I don't hear that at all, besides a few people that want top quality for low cost, which is unrealistic.

i would think the LT manufacturer already has these spreadsheets, not that they would share them with the world though.

still, would be a fun thing to know for me as well, to see where corner were cut (if any, not implying) to deliver the price point.

still, you only have to look at the optional translucent drip tips on their site ($7.95 each) and know that healthcabin sells them for $0.90 each to know they're not really interested in passing along any savings to the consumer.

still, its a business, they can charge whatever people are willing to pay, for better or worse.
