I wouldn't know an IC from CPL anyway. And what does it Really Matter?

99.9% of Vapers want to push the Button and have Vapor come out of their Carto/Atty 100% of the time.

And the Provari, like Most of the mods listed here, do this.

But the Lavatube has had some Issues which May or May Not be Attributed to a New Release.

I just find it Suspect that we have to Keep having a Lavatube vs. Provari debate. And when everything has been Drug Out and Rehashed 17 Ways to Sunday but Finally dies down, a New Thread appears.

It’s almost like there is More Going on Here than a fact finding mission.

I understand what you are saying...but...really? I mean, why? It would be like tearing down a Ferrari and Camaro for comparison. What's the point? Especially when the Camaro serves its purpose to those who can't afford a Ferrari?

Because that is exactly The Point. To compare what makes them Different.

I never said in this thread anything about comparing one over the other because one is Better than the other. No one is speaking about which is better or which cost more. I want to compare the technical specs Only in this thread.

Why? Because it Can Be Done.

Yes, I know they have differences but because they are both Boosted type mods, I want to know Why there are differences and examine those issues by examining the parts used in each and the specs.

It really is that simple and nothing more.

Let me ask you, why is a Ferrari faster than a Camero? They both have similar but different parts. They both have engines, transmissions ect, but you really don't know the answer unless you examine the parts of each individually.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Many of you keep insisting you don't understand the point of this thread. I don't know how much more plain I can make it.
You do not have to keep having a Lavatube vs a Provari debate. If you don't like this thread, forget about it. Don't post in it. Put it out of your mind.
THIS type of comparison has not been done before. I am not trying to re-hash old ground already covered.
I still see catromizer vs CE2 threads popping up all over the place all the time. Do these bother you too?
Do this: Indulge this thread. let it grow. if there is something more going on in this thread than a fact finding mission, you will see it soon enough. Then you can be there to say," I told you so." Fair is fair.
I have seen my share of Cartomizer vs. CE2 threads.
The Difference is that they were not All started Dominated by the Same Member.
You can't purchase a Ferrari for the price of a Camaro...and you can't have a Ferrari for the price of a Camaro,.
I can speak from experience when it comes to Ferrari's...it is very basic, $ buys the very best in components, fit, finish, and of course much is hand "made". :)
For vv mods...let me know what you come up with when you determine why the LT is different from the Provari. :)
In all seriousness, though...I don't think the Lavatube was produced to compete directly with the Provari (I could be wrong). Needless to say, the Lavatube has filled a large gap in this market. It is relatively inexpensive, and it does in fact perform...to an extent of what the Provari does...just not all the way.
For the price, the Lavatube performs most excellent.
I have started only TWO threads on this subject Each exploring a completely different area than the other. If something that trivial bothers you and others so much, I cannot help you. Perhaps you should seek more professional help.
You can get an 80s model 308 for around 40 grand....:D
Because that is exactly The Point. To compare what makes them Different. I want to compare the technical specs Only in this thread.It really is that simple and nothing more.
They both have the same technical specs: Booted Regulation with 2.5amp over current protection. IMO it's design and implementation that account for most of the operational differences.
Provari lets you operate within spec and cuts you off when adjusted out of spec, easy for the user to figure out what’s happening through menu feedback.
LT keeps working when it’s out of spec but automatically adjust voltage without giving any user feedback other than the vape. Initially this was said by posters to be a great thing but from what I’ve seen It can be a big source of confusion. Why would I want it to automatically adjust voltage back without notice to the mid 3s or so rather than telling me it’s out of spec so I can adjust it myself within spec and know where I’m at.
To me, it being a budget marketed device that beginning VV buyers will be looking at this is a big mistake. To more advanced users or those that care to research and understand when it should be operating in spec not so much of a big deal because they can easily figure out what’s happening and deal with it accordingly.
The voltage drop as the battery drains is another reported issue which is probably a product of not so well thought out implementation, some say they experience it, others say they don't. Could have already been taken care of in a revision...just thinking out loud but that is another issue as things get taken care of from China, can be hard to tell which one your getting.
So one was well thought out in design and the other not so much from a end user standpoint, however they both work. Comparing parts really doesn’t matter as you can get both results using the same regulator, just depends on how it’s implemented.
Going further in the differences category:
Provari uses more durable materials, especially the end caps.
Provari uses a menu system with the ability to give the user more functions and feedback. LT uses - + buttons to adjust the voltage and will also give battery voltage with button presses.
Provari Cost more.
Provape has steller customer service which I guess could apply with both mods depending on where you get the LT but one is for sure.
The LT is longer, using the same battery and even a smaller screen this surprised me and the reason I didn't get it.
I will say China has a history of releasing products with glitches at first and slowly gets them worked out through revisions. It’s like they want us to be beta test and charge us full price for doing so they can learn, improve and get us to buy the next revision so the process can start over. This is their first attempt at a mass produced vv mod. I’m sure they’ll learn from it and improve it through revision as they have other products.
Nomoreash,
All of that has been said before. I'm not discussing it in this thread. It's old news. We still do not know what exactly accounts for these differences you mention without examining the parts themselves. All your doing is repeating the generalities, not siting specifics because you are actually comparing parts.
However I do understand where you are coming from and thank you for at least a serious on topic minded post.
I did cover what I consider to account for the differences and it has nothing to do with part or part numbers. Nobody here is going to be able to tell you why they decided to go with a roll back approach to the over current protection. For that you'd need to get in touch with China and good luck with that.
I don't need luck. I don't need to contact China if I can find someone in the USA that knows the product. I just need serious minded people willing to work together for a common goal. There ARE dead Provari's out there. The Provari's can be striped and the parts identified even if there are no part numbers. I don't need to know why a company will " go with a roll back approach to the over current protection.". That understanding will come in time.
I see this all the time doing research for things. Someone has a rare non standard part and people network, research it and find the answers. They dig up the specifications. They compare components and begin to understand why there are differences in like products - differences that are not advertised as such or expounded on. I see no reason why the same cannot be done here.
Maybe you should try the Volcano Forum for these people with the "common goals" that you are seeking?
Judging by the Likes received in this Thread, you're Not Finding many here.
