For me, I wish I'd purchased the provari right off the bat. II've been vaping almost 3 mths and I actually first started 2 yrs ago with a joy 510. I got that because it looked like a cig! problem was, I only ordered 12mg juice and after about 2 wks I went back to smokes. Fast forward to now...I again (stupidly as far as I'm concerned) ordered a bloog kit plus some 18mg juice (it's cute and worked ok for me for about 2 wks until I wanted more.....). So, then I ordered an eGo T and then I upgraded the batteries, and then I got sick of the taste of fiber so I ordered tanks, and then I wanted MORE so I ordered a Reo which I ended up hating right off the bat and gave to my husband who LOVES it. Then I ordered a provari and bingo! PERFECT. Now I want to experiment with dripping lol. It never ends :D

Good thing about the provari is wether you really like vaping at 3.2 or 3.7 but not at 5.0 or 5.5+,you will have the tool to do it all.

But to keep your cash spending curve, you shoulda go with the lavatube first :)

I think most us have experienced the same. I never wanted to drip but after seeing Jack with the VapeMate bottle feeder, I am willing to try it.

They way I look at it is, I'm still not completely comfortable with the concept of a big mod, especially on campus with ppl looking at me vaping, but at the same time, I'm aware that 510 batteries are considered disposable and I don't feel safe putting my vaping fate completely into something that will die on me. Provari's have a two year warranty and let me vape all day. If I only keep a 510 battery and carto ready for the 2-3 min I vape in between classes, that seems alright for my needs.

We've all wished at some point that we could try all the various kinds of PVs and can return them just as easily as in a store because we'll really never know until we try them. It's really all subjective. Slim cigs, Egos, VVs, etc. Some still use slims because they look like the real thing. Same thing with Egos and medium-sized devices.

In the end it all comes down to personal preference no matter what we've read in these forums. Battery life, for instance, has always been a concern in my case. (I've settled with cartos in the juice-feeding area.) I've got all kinds of slims, two pairs of Egos, a VV box mod, E-Powers and the latest is a mod with 18650, which is the biggest battery I've had so far. Now I know what I really want when I'm on the go. (You can use any when at home. I even have a usb passthrough.) It won't be the one with 18650 batt. It's too big. So my last one will be a mod that takes a single 14500. It's easy to conceal and I'm satisfied with these batts. The 3AA VV box mod I have is still a bit big to my liking. I never really cared about VVs.

Switched is right having a mod (or several) as your backup or main PV is great.

The only problem I have with mods is that either they are a fair size for great battery life (an 18650 mod for instance).
On the flip side there are some very tiny mods, but you have to carry a battery or two around with you (GLV, AA box mod, Reo mini).

So it really boils down to what do you want to carry around with you all day.

Was about $700 for year 1 for me, still got a box of hardware and parts, was DIYing for half of it. Tried several diff ecigs like most and settled on a bomb-proof 510 mod.

Versus the ~$3400 I woulda done on analogues plus feeling a little better all round (not televangelist style omg awesome cure, but I don't hack like I used to and have a little more wind). I look at it as money well spent.

Also couldn't have done it without this forum, like any open source information medium though, you have to be willing to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

Say what you want I can take it, But seriously after a year and half of vaping and spending way too much time and money on different cartos and atomizers I am still curious why nobody has been honest with any of the new comers? I don't care what you're running, but if you aren't honest with new comers we are going to get nowhere. My honest opinion is order an ego or Riva at minimum of 900 mah or order 2 650 mah kits. Batteries are a pain in the azz; I spent 300 bucks my first month on crappy 510's and 808"s. These are the ones that are closest to handeling as a cigarette as can be. I order these batteries regularly but they will not get anyone to quit.I order 510 autos regularly to give away and tell them vaping is amazing but it has it's own costs. These autos and slims are great but I think if we are honest and all talk to our friends and let them know that the real alternative to being free of cancer sticks costs a few bucks more to get serious we will have more success. Here in Ontario the cheapest carton costs 54 dollars. That same 54 dollars in vaping gets me 2 weeks worth of carts(if I don't wash and re-use) and 60ml of juice at ...... prices(no offence but if you pay 1 buck per ml you are a ......). This could get really politically incorrect in a hurry lol. I'm not the nicest guy in the world and never told you I would be. FAct of the matter is you guys always continue to steer these people wrong. How are we going to better the community?. What they need is honesty, and to know that it will cost 200 bucks right off the hop unless you're giving you're juice away for free. They need a starter kit plus juice plus cartos that are reliable and work on a decent battery. This is not available for $29.99(quit giving false hope). They need to know that for around 200 bucks they are good for a month with a few flavours and a bunch of cartos they can throw away. And then let them know if they clean their cartos thay can save a few more bucks as well. We seriously need to let this community know that Vaping isn't just about saving money it's about saving your health. Not everyone wants to make their own damn juice. Not everyone wants a damn fog warning to be proclaimed on the weather network every time they exhale(lmao). And quite honestly this forum is completely lending itself to this falsehood. We need to get honest about the how good we feel having quit the NiC Stiks and how we would spend the same money to feel as good or better. Every damn thread it seems is about stretching the dollar. This is about an alternative to dying for me. If it's not the same for you, and you would continue to smoke if it was cheaper then at that point there's not much more to say. Did I mention hAPPY nEW yEAR? LOL

Despite being very painful to scan a run-on paragraph, I agree with most of what this says.

There are WAY too many running thru this forum venting their ....-hurt because brand X didn't work for them as they exaggerate the problems.

There are WAY too many running thru this forum promoting brand Y with equally exaggerated claims.

We could focus on "this is the upside... this is the downside.." discussions that could be useful to the users.
We could focus on "Here are compatible manufacturers for mixing and matching components..."
We could focus on "Here are some cheaper sources for accessories..."
We could focus on "Here is how you can get a 20% rebate..." and similar.

...but when this does get posted, it is buried under a ton of... ....-hurting arses.

I have told every one of my friends that I've converted that the startup costs are HIGH. You cannot get into good vaping for the price of a pack of smokes.

In my province a pack of smokes runs from $9 - $12 for a pack of 20. To date for my vaping it has cost me almost $550, however that was trial and error (I was the first vaper I knew) with going through the eGo-T to Lavatube to my new precious my Provari, I've also tried numerous juices and cartos. Through this trial and error I have found my ADV (Juggy's KaramelAPPLE) and my prefered method (Boge cartos in a tank). 2 months in and I am now JUST seeing profit compared to smoking, however my learning curve is done and from here Juice and carto's are cheap. I fully expect to save even more money in the coming months.

I've told all my friends that to get up and started they were looking at around $150 (eGo/Lavatube kit, carto's and juice), and that would be good for a couple months when they would need to stock up on juice and cartos once more. None of them had a problem with this, most of them were concerned about their health more than their pocketbook.

I don't know who you are referring to when they said you could get started for $30, I mean, you COULD but it wouldn't be ideal and it wouldn't last very long (juice/cartos). As far as flavor, that is subjective, everyone will taste flavors differently, I know my ADV is KaramelAPPLE but some of my friends HATE it, they vape stuff like Wurthers and I find it gross, again taste is subjective.

Keep in mind, @ 1 PPD I was spending upwards of $300 a month on ciggys, compared to the ~$40 a month it will cost me to continue vaping. You have to think of the long term, will vaping eventually save you money? A couple weeks in / a couple months in?

** EDIT ** Didn't notice how old this thread was...

It caught my interest.
No other reason needed.

You brought back a 4 month old argument that was pretty much resolved, where the OP admitted to being intoxicated and agitated.

You brought back a 5+ page thread where you only replied to the FIRST post in the thread. Everything you said had already been said. Many times.

I understand that yes, you're free to post wherever you want, but maybe you should use a little restraint when you feel like replying to such an old thread. If you're having problems deciphering the opinions on items promoted and the way others are not recommended around here my advice to you is that you should remember that this is a forum of unique individuals. What works for party A may not work for party B. Party A might think Boge 2.0 cartos are crap while party B, C, and D will live and swear by them.

I see that you're sort of new to this, so my final piece of advice is that nothing is going to work for everyone. There is no "THIS IS THE BEST" in this industry and that all you can really do is try what tickles your fancy.

I wish you the best in your vaping journey.
