At first when I was looking at some of these large large collections of PVs my brain kept asking, "WHY? - why so many of what are to my eyes - the same exact same thing? - what is the point?"

Then I realized that I am often asked the same exact question with regard to my extensive fragrance collection - several hundred strong, at this point. "Why do you need to have so many bottles of 'perfume'". When I thought about my fragrance collection, the reasoning became, to me, much easier to formulate into words. Every single bottle of fragrance that I own is unique among its brethren.

Sometimes I will have several different bottles of the same fragrance - those bottles will all be of differing formulations. They are going to be EDP, EDT, parfum, and occasionally; cologne. It may be different versions of a fragrance.. say a bottle of Joy parfum from 1932 and a bottle of Joy parfum from 2010. The only thing that is the same about those 2 bottles is that they have the same name on them - Joy. The 2010 formulation will not have actual civet in it, but the 1932 bottle will.

For me, thinking along those lines - "what is it that I love about my massive fragrance collection?" - made it, (the need to have oodles of wood mods), all understandable for me. And it made me smile.

Jagellpuff, i just ordered my first wood... also a Ha-y-n mod, today! I'm so excited about it.

And TigerLadyTX... Your perfume collection sounds awesome. You'll probably cringe at this... I've been wearing primarily the same two scents since high school! lol Paul Sebastian's Design, and Burberry's for women... depending on the season. I've thrown a few curveballs in there from time to time. I was on a Prescriptives Calyx bend for a while. And of course did the whole 'unisex' CK1 thing for a bit. Even fell in love with some sprays and oils, like a Gap fragrance called 'grass' that I loved, and The Body Shop's Dewberry. But for the most part... just those two main ones. Its going on... um... well, I'm 36, and I've been into those two since I was about 15. lol It does have to be said that I have odd body chemistry. Most fragrances end up smelling like bug spray on me, so that's never good. How the heck do you decide what to wear everyday? And i'm guessing, well, perfumes age, so you must have them stored, somehow? Anyway... you must be SERIOUSLY into fragrance! Good to have a passion. ;)

Ooh, that's some exciting dyed wood, you've got there, unsure! I'm so excited! Jut found out my first ever wood mod is leaving Honolulu as we speak, and should be delivered on the 23rd! So thrilled! Can't wait to post photos of my Ha-y-n! I was dying to order this mango wood one he's got on sale, cause it has such unusual markings! I'd never seen mango wood before, and it is gorgeous. But alas, I is broke. Any other mango wood mod photos floating around here? I love the idea of getting a mango wood/koa combination carved, with vv. That's one I'll have to save for, though.

Hey
I ordered a wood mod, and as with most hand made wood mods, there is a long wait!

I ordered it from the modder back at the end of December, and he's notified me that it is now ready, and that it will be shipped out from the UK to me here in the states tomorrow.

There is something about a beautiful, handcrafted wood mod! I previously owned an Ali'i, which I used and loved for about a year. Alas... my tastes changed, I discovered the virtues of variable voltage, and ended up selling my Ali'i.

While waiting for my Touchwood 18650, I discovered ANOTHER wood mod maker, and really loved his work. Ordered one from him, as well!

I'd love to see what other people's wood mods look like... your REO's, The Grip, your Mark-7's and Mark-8's... whatever.

If it's made of wood, and you vap on it, LET'S SEE IT! :vapor:

Hint....it started out by using this Zippo wood....only one other was made, that I have seen, but it was not VV.....

Zippo Lighter 1998 Camel Antique Silver Plate w/wood box - Special Edition | eBay

Ok, fact that it was made from vintage zippo box just makes it that much cooler! That box is so far out of my price range as to be laughable, but boy... GORGEOUS! You know, I'm surprised we don't see more wood mods with designs burned into the wood. That's not such a hard thing to do. I've done a little wood burning myself. Its the mod box in wood that I'm lacking. I've done some hunting for people who sell just the box part, but they're as pricey as a mod, basically, so that's out. Looks like its either learn woodworking or resign myself to not having a nice bunch of wood mods, someday, which I'm not willing to do. lol

And keegan1014... very cool pipes you carved, there! I really dig the small one! You know, I didn't realize that cherryvapes made pipe stems that can be purchased on their own, but I was at a pipemod place recently, and they have some available for purchase. That was a surprise!
