Vmod XL a month or so later - tried all the vapage attys.
Cartos - reliable but uninspiring.
hybrid slant coil - good when it's working, sensitive to feeding. Fiddly.
Called vapage for advise, they mentioned the universal hybrid atty ...
Got distracted for a bit w / the arrival of a ZNA & a Russian 91
Vapage sent me a couple of the aforementioned universals in the meantime ( nice folks )
The universals seem to the best yet ; good taste, longer lived, fewer dryish hits.
For me the issue w/ the slant coils was their inability to hold juice - drained back out too easily thru all those slots in the base.
The universals feed more conventionally thru holes in the side of the 510, that design seems to allow the thing to hold juice longer / better.
The verdict ; still liking the capabilities of the XL very much, big battery & really big juice capacity, likely a RBA going on it soon since learning to coil & wick recently. Unlike the ZNA, it's very pocket friendly & pretty much the perfect knock around / out & about device.
Any recommendations for an RBA that has the following characteristics ; low profile, BF ready & a screw on cap ?

except for the screw on cap, its a slip on but firm, I took off one of the o-rings, the IGO-bf rba on the reosmods.com is low profile and ready for bottomfeeding almost...you will have to add an adapter, simple unsealed 510 and some o-rings to get it to fit correctly, there is also hose at reosmods.com that will alow you to squeeze for juice without tipping the mod , since I put dual coils on my REO Ive reactivated my Vmod with this set-up for the mild times I dont feel I want duals and I works well:vapor:

Thanks ..
I'll keep those in mind Eddie, the vapage universal has lasted nearly 3 weeks so far under light / moderate use ... & still tastes good. Impressed.
Likely put an igo of some sort on it eventually, or maybe the smaller squid unit. still deciding which.
Iv'e not researched it much but is there such a thing as a 'genuine' igo & cloned one ?
Noticed the fastech ones are 7-8 bucks & others are 20 or so.

Calling all Vmodians...just saw a coupon code (754BG) for a BOGO sale on the VMOD kits. Initiallly, I wasn't going to take advantage...I had just ordered and received the bare bones 2.O. However, when I went to fire it up today (my other 2 were drying from a bath), I couldn't get it to work, no matter what I tried! (Batteries, new atomizer, new cartomizer, etc.). I'll admit it. I panicked. The thought of not having a spare upset me, even though I do have my trusted bat rigs on standby. Love, love, love my little Vmod!

Thanks Tea Rose! It's my favorite. I adore the whole bottom feeding method. The Vmod 2.0 and it's price point (but only when it's on sale) suits both me and my tight budget. I'd like to try something else (sorry, Reonauts), but cannot bring myself to save that kind of money for one mod when I can get 3 when they're on sale. Granted, that could change given the fact they've gone up since I first started using them. As long as they have a good sale every little once in awhile, I'll be a loyal fan. I also enjoy painting their chassis's and girlin' em up a bit.

im a vmod 2.0 fan myself. the only thing that irks me is the lack of a tube in the bottle. i dont like tipping. its less effective at getting juice up to the atty and worse yet, squeezing the bottle as hard as you need to feed the atty, causes the bottle to split. i always get a tear in the base of the bottleneck. i blow through bottles like its nobodys business. and inadvertently tearing the bottle always causes a leak, which can get all over the battery. dangerous. plus it prevents me from vaping because a tear in the bottle breaks the suction needed to fill. ive tried not squeezing as hard but its ineffective at feeding juice that way.
im buying some tubing from ACE Hardware to allow for blind squonking (the way a REO feeds).

There's a few things I didn't like about my vmodxl that made me want to get a reo grand. First I would really like them to put a tube for feeding so you don't need to tip, such an easy fix they should really release one, also my bottles kept tearing at the top. Maybe try use thicker bottles or ri was able to reinforce that area with a little epoxy or rubber cement worked well too.....now after I have tried both I really think I am going to return my reo and hold out for the new aero bf. The things that I didn't care for about there reo were first the ergonomics. ..theyre really boxy and don't feel good in hand or look good(personal opinion) also the housing door isn't very securely shut it can go up and down, would be nice if it could only do one or the other, just put some kind of stopper on one end. Really there not all that similar, I am not using rebuild ables so I I know I am missing out on a big reason WY the reo is nice but I think holding out for the new aero bf will be when I upgrade to rebuildables

Hope this helps someone
