Sigh. I'm an absolute battery dufus. The more I read, the more confused I get. So if someone can point me in the direction of what I need to buy, I'd be eternally grateful.

1. I want a vv woodville when they become available and I'll need batteries for it.

2. I'd like the batteries I use to be compatible with a Pila charger. I looked at AW IMR 16340 Batts and they are 550mAh. I've been reading that the Pila is not designed for Batts <600 mAh. Is that an issue?

The rule of thumb is to not use the Pila for batteries rated at less than 600 mAh. Since the VV Reo Woodvil will accept 18350's, you might as well choose them for the higher mAh. You could safely use these 18350's or these 16340's. These 16340's are also acceptable, but it sounds like you're wanting higher mAh batteries.

3. I've also read that 18350 can be used in the vv woodville.

Yes!

4. Will I need spacers to charge any of these batteries in a Pila?(other than the screw on ones that came with the charger)?

Yes!

5. Where do I get the spacers and what type of spacer do I get(if it matters)?

You can use these in conjunction with the screw-in spacers that came with your Pila or you can use these without the screw in spacers. The dummy CR123 spacers make for a very tight fit in the Pila when used to charge 18350's, but they do work.

6. if i need a different charger for one of these sets of batteries what type do I need?

You don't need a different charger for 18350's, but if you want a dedicated charger for them, here's a nice one. Here's another nice charger. Both of these chargers will charge 3.7 volt 16340 batteries or 3.2 volt RCR 123a batteries. They have selector switches so you can set the charging current for the type of battery you are charging.

Yeah, I'm confused here. If any of the answers to this have links with pictures of what I need, I'd be really, really happy.

Answers offered in green font above. I used links to RTDvapor just because it was easy for me, but you can shop around and buy these products from a number of different vendors.

Thanks Muddy buddy!! I now have 8 18350 batteries, 4 spacers, a multi meter and a couple of those sweet ming drip tips headed my way. Got to get the nursery ready for the new arrival. :D

It's almost embarrassing that since I started vaping I don't even have to get up and go get my credit card anymore. All relevant numbers seared into my memory now.

I guess now I HAVE to buy a VV woodville. Since I bought the batteries and all.....

DO NOT use your TR-001 with those batteries. Give them till the end of the business day tomorrow to respond. I'd bet 10 bucks they make it right.

The WF-138A is out of stock.. so forcedfuel50 had me order the XTAR MP2 instead... he said it will work great with my 3.2 batts. So I have my cart full at Super T and am preparing to mail back the other charger. I should have my new charger in a few days at most... he ships FAST! Thanks for all your help and pointing me in his direction.. he's a VERY helpful, nice guy:) I think I'll be ordering my batts from Super T from now on!

Oh, and I got my volt meter working but it's too complex for me! I think I'll get the one recommended to me in this thread instead. I have NO idea how to work the meter I posted the photo of.... and I don't have the manual. My hubby bought it years ago and also felt it was too complex for his needs and bought something else. For amps, ohms and volts it has so many settings it makes me dizzy!

You can see the meters in this post~

Use your order number(s) to enter his contest in the supplier's forum. :D

Make sure you use the 3.0/3.2 setting to charge those LiFePO4 batteries. I'm glad I could help in my small way. :)

That Micronta tester really doesnt give you the information you need. I would pull a 9v battery out of my smoke alarm and try the other meter. :)

I got the other meter working but WOW.. that thing is COMPLEX! I couldn't figure it out! MAYBE if I had a manual it would be helpful.... but that thing has so many settings it's crazy. And just out of curiosity, how would you test the ohms on a carto? Doesn't energy have to be flowing through the carto in order to test it? Does anyone have experience in a meter like the black one shown in the pic (GB instruments GDT-11)?

Not specific to your particular multimeter, but this is a very helpful video from Basilray.

There is a subforum for member contests, but the supplier's post their contests all over the place.

Thanks... and hey, I got my new charger today and it's working like a charm. Now I'm able to vape at 6 volts again:) Yay! Thanks for the all the help! * I still do like to vape at 3.7 with a lot of lighter juices... some juices taste better at lower voltage and some do well at higher voltages. i DON'T vape tobacco flavors. Anyone have suggestions on good flavors to vape at 6 volts?

I just ordered four more AW IMR 18350s and an XTar Charger. A second WF-188 charger, of mine, has broken, in its first year of use. First one the slider spring holder on R side broke and this one the R channel has gone wonkers. I placed a rubbery 6 ml bottle in that channel so we wouldn't use it. It jumps around voltages when I check that channel and it, also, drains batteries.

I've had my WF-139 for 10 years and it has been heavily used and in dusty and sometimes moist environment. BTW... we have handled both of the WF-188s very gently, not letting the spring slam shut when we take batteries out. Randy, RTD, told me, last year, when my first one broke, that he only issues a 30 day warranty on the WF-188 because they are so prone to breaking, he only carries them because people want to purchase them, and he, personally uses the WF-139 for much of his charging.

I, already have two, Tenergy 3v chargers for the 3v LiFePO4 batteries we have.

I considered the Pila but the six channels of the XTar is awfully attractive to me as we have so many different size AW IMR batteries. It comes with six spacers but I ordered six more at $0.49 each.

I was going to order a few new AW IMR 14500 but they are back ordered so I'm forced to make a second order and get a new contest entry #. I'm not complaining at all.

Hugs, Feisty Alice
