Provari question:

Ida seems to be doing some odd things all of a sudden. I believe Robin may have mentioned this regarding her first Provari. Sometimes it wont fire and sometimes the fire button will blink. Both are intermittent. I have not dropped it or anything recently. Just started happening of its own volition. Has happened now across two batteries so it is not battery-related. All menu options seem to be functioning fine. Has this occurred with anyone else?

I may open a ticket with ProVapes if for no other reason to put a bookmark on the issue in case it gets worse or blows up.

Electronics!!

One of the benefits of a bottom coil (to me) is that it provides a little cooler vape. You picking up on that?

The T3 was a clunker too...for all the reasons you cite.

Certainly a cooler vape. Just got my second one and it is performing equally as well. Very impressed with these

Have you tried using a long q-tip with alcohol to clean the battery contact inside? Also maybe put a small dab of naolox on it to make sure the battery is making good contact. Other than that I wouldn't know what else you could do except contact provape

I used a dry q-tip and it came out pretty clean. It could be the atty too (it's a rebuildable). I'll try another device on it and see what happens. Thanks JW. I know Robin was running into something similar.

Ah, now I can start rebuilding my Nova heads. Yes, we got vape mail!!! Got a good supply of kanthal A-1 32g (9'), some silica 1.5 mm wick (also 9') and 2 12"x12" sheets of SS 500 mesh. The sheets are actually 12"x13 3/4", so it looks like OKC vapes threw in a bit extra, so they could fill out the envelop.

I only have 2mm wick, so I just used one 2mm strand. Seems to wick just fine, but that may be affecting the size of the wraps and, thus, the resistance.

PS: General, I changed my signature. I saw this quote and it made me think of "he who shall not be named."

Umm yeah, noise, lots of noise. ;)
Perfect for the nameless one.

Mine would cut off while I pressed the button. Then sometimes the menu would light up and I would see dashes. Sometimes it would be at the PU spot and actually raise my power. All I was doing was trying to vape with the damned thing. I think it has to do with the circuit it's self. I've seen this issue before in the forum...somewhere. I think over in the hardware specific area. I was reading a thread and it got moved while I was reading.

Now that is a weird feeling when you go to back out and all of a sudden you're someplace else.

Yours behaved a little differen tthan mine Robin. I'm going to lift the spring a tad per GT's suggestion. I have the perfect tool for it. I'll do it later and let you know if it worked. I use the VAMO the first half of the day and Ida the last half so I have time. :)

BTW, did that problem go away with BooBoo after you got it back from ProVapes?

If you shake it (THE PROVARI!) does it feel a little "loose"? Mine did, it doesn't now.

Not really GT. The button rattles but it has always done that. But I notice the fire button will blink on and off when I shake it. I think I will expand that spring now and do another shake test. Give me a few minutes. I have to dig up that tool.

Bronze, mine was doing that and I very carefully pulled the spring up a little (expanded it). Hasn't done it since.

I had tried that too. It was suggested on that thread I was reading. I think mine was just too damaged in the original fall and me trying to get that piece out. But now all is well.

The explanation for the spring fix was that when the battery got warm/hot from heavy use, the spring would collapse a bit from the heat. This may be a common thing for the Provari since they do sell extra springs on their site. Just a conjecture on my part, not based on fact, just based on logical thinking.

It hasn't acted up since getting it back.
