Just got my Zmax V5 in again. I'm trying to process how they ended up sending me the wrong color, twice now, after 5 emails back and forth about it. Never dealing with Vaportekusa again.

EDIT: Received an email from the owner within 15 minutes apologizing. He toldbme to keep the black and he's sending me a SS one like I ordered. Faith in humanity restored. :)

Got a question for X. Why is it with the same atty with aprox the same resistance using the exact same voltage same Kanthal same wick on the same PV that some coils glow up quicker than others?

It has to do with the spacing of the coils from one another and the lengths of the leads to the coil on each side. Slight variations in those measurements will give different performance. Ideally, we want the distance between each wrap to be exactly uniform and the lengths of the + and - leads to be equal. There is no way to get them so precise with such small measurements. Another variable is how tightly the coil is wrapped around the wick, but the former two I mentioned seem to make the biggest difference.

BTW, I don't know why this is. I just know that it's so both from reading and from experience. This is as far as my electrical knowledge goes.

? I'm not all that familiar with the T2... why wouldn't you be able to get a wrap that works on your Vamo? I only ask as the first 28g wrap I made (5/4) came to 1.3 and my Vamo fired it up just fine. With 32g (untwisted of course), you should be able to get a fair amount higher.

I only had the SS it came with and I didn't do very good with it. I did get it to work with a 3mil silica in a U shape but it doesn't wick very good.

You should probably consider staying away from twisted coils on an Evod, especially at sub-ohms. Those things aren't built to withstand that kind of heat. You are liable to melt an insulator or an o-ring. I recommend you keep your Evod for vaping above 1.5ohms. They aren't bad on Ego bats on the go. But, since they have no insulation around the coil, there's too much danger for a hard short. Putting an Evod on a mech seems to defeat the purpose of the mod, anyhow.

Kind of wondered about that. Oh well I'll just recoil it. I've got the Evod head down pat. 3mil silica, 4/5 wrap with 30g nichrome 11watts on the Vamo. Good stuff.

The AGA was by far one of the most frustrating genny devices I have come across.

Yeah...when I was looking to get my first gennies, I had looked at the AGA initially since so many people had it... then I read some more and saw how most all those people were fed up with it. :)

So I'm glad I picked the RSST instead.

Yup live and learn. It's not the first bit I've bought that's not being used.

Me too Dust. Mine is in the penalty box more than it isn't. I think once I get the Kayfun I will be giving my AGA its unconditional release. I have better things to do with my time than to monkey with a temperamental atomizer. At first I thought it was me. But I work on my own cars and fix just about everything around the house so I'm not some mechanical meathead. I finally realized the AGA is the problem. Not me. Perhaps it performs better with a mech but if it can't perform on a Provari with some level of consistency then I don't want it. It's gonna stay in hiatus.

I'd much prefer having the RSST than the AGA. It's another $10 - $15 more but at least it works by all accounts. To be honest, I'm disappointed in the AGA.

100% agree. Adding a pair of #2 brass washers to the positive post to trap pos wire helped the most, but it is the touchiest genny I've used.

Yeah... DV had it for a good price.. .$27... and it had some good features; insulated wick hole, the positive post is spring loaded making it easy to capture, PP tank so you don't have to worry about grounding the wick (not going to put Fireball juice in it, so no problems there)... It was an easy build. Any issues with it currently are related to.... wait for it..... the SS wick. :)

I cleaned it this afternoon and its wicking awesome now, but I think I did a crappy job since the flavor seems a bit off now ... I forgot to give it a little rinse after I dry burned the coil (derp derp). My tank's almost empty... I'll give it a cleaning and switch it up... I've been pumping Legend through it.. I'll probably switch to Dragon's Fire for a bit.

But I've been moving towards an all atty lineup... I have some long barrels with a drip shield coming soon, those will take up shop on my spinner... and a mini RDA and a IGO-L coming, which will share time on my Vamo until there is only one.. as much as I like the Octopus, the lack of a drip well and that vent hole on the deck (even with the chinmey) isn't ideal. I'd like to really saturate that wicking to get some vape time, but the overflow will plop down that hole now and then... and with the vent there on the deck, it makes it harder to set up a dual coil.

Yeah... that's the good stuff. I flushed my tank with some water... burned to get the wick dry again... rinsed the mesh wick and wiped the it a little with a paper towel (ick... black/brown gunk)... burned dry... filled with some DF...

back in bidnis now...all I taste is DF and not the burnt ash nastiness of what was in that mesh. lesson learned.

Next task... put some teflon tape on the center post and maybe a cut down condom at the top of the tank post to eliminate any drippy drip leaks down that post.
