I just hope this is the last device I have to buy/try for awhile. I definitely need a large capacity, Rebuildable for my Dragon's Fire. I vape too much of that stuff not to have a deluxe device for it. I like the idea that it performs well on a Provari. And you know when X says it does well on a Provari you can take it to the bank!

OK... getting a little carried away now. I got my Smok RDA, then my RSST... They work great, but I need MOAR! Ordered a IGO-L, and a little mini RDA... both to try out dual coil setups... And maybe a Phoenix clone on DV.

Actually, the one thing that annoys me now a bit is the way my Octopus vents... OK, having the air come straight up through the wick is nice, but there is ALLLL that space on the other side of the posts. If the vent was in the bell, like on the mini, then I can slap another coil in there and use the back for lot's o' wick.

I swear, I'll stop soon.

All my pipes have cheap drippers on them, and they are doing just fine.. mind you the pipes were an average of $200 each, so maybe my argument is not valid.

Nuttin wrong with your crap Leo. We all use that stuff. I still have yet to find anything that rivals a basic Phoenix RBA. And it's only $10. If this Kayfun is even 80% of the Phoenix, I will be happy! I just need something with a larger capacity. The AGA did not cut it. I think AGA's need a mech and I don't have one. I just have a Vamo and a Provari.

But if you want something that can go on your vamo or provari, I had my RSST on my Vamo when I have a 1.3ohm coil and it worked fine. There are plenty of people running this with 1.8 or so ohm coils on VV/VW and they are quite happy with the results. With a 1.8ohm wrap and on something like a Vamo or Provari, that 3ml tank would probably last you a while.

Granted, you wouldn't be able to put it into "Race" mode unless you pop it on a mech ( Heh... but, like running a car on a track, your mileage suffers. heh), but it would still probably zip along just fine a a lower power.

No mech here either. But I hope to change that soon. I did a test wrap on a Evod head - 32 kanthal twisted with 3/4 wrap. The Vamo tells me it's 0.7ohms. Comparatively speaking.... Right now, my RSST is probably running between 15w to 22w on my K100 (battery dependant). By "lower power" I mean half that... 7w to 14w... which is where it would be on a regulated device.

I wouldn't mind having a second that I could coil for my Vamo and run it at maybe 10w for a lower-key feel than the top fuel dragster vape on the K100.

But my point is that there are plenty of people running RBAs on regulated devices.

? I'm not all that familiar with the T2... why wouldn't you be able to get a wrap that works on your Vamo? I only ask as the first 28g wrap I made (5/4) came to 1.3 and my Vamo fired it up just fine. With 32g (untwisted of course), you should be able to get a fair amount higher.

I rewicked my AGA-T+. Got rid of the SS mesh and put in a strand of thick cotton (it's listed at 3mm but is probably closer to 2mm). Much better!

I've learned that, for me, SS mesh is overrated.

You should probably consider staying away from twisted coils on an Evod, especially at sub-ohms. Those things aren't built to withstand that kind of heat. You are liable to melt an insulator or an o-ring. I recommend you keep your Evod for vaping above 1.5ohms. They aren't bad on Ego bats on the go. But, since they have no insulation around the coil, there's too much danger for a hard short. Putting an Evod on a mech seems to defeat the purpose of the mod, anyhow.

I use most of my RBA's on regulated devices, running a coil in the 1.8 - 2.2 range. My drippers on my pipes are around the 1.7 - 1.8 ohm range.

I can't fathom vaping any of the juices I have at 22W.. Does your juice not burn at that high heat level?

I know that the Provari has the capability to go as high as 35 - 40W before it's cut-off level, but you would be using close to 7-8 amps of power at that time. My question would be WHY?!

I usually stay at 8W, unless I'm vaping a heavy duty NET, in which case I may raise it up to the 8.5 - 9.5W range.

Yeah... I've only been firing on one for a short time, and they are a temperamental beast, that is for sure. Tough SOBs, but very cranky. But I think, and this is just me doing a total rectal hypothosis extraction, that silica or cotton wicks might have a hard time keeping up with the demand that the high power coils need... but I have no idea if SS mesh wicks faster than silica or cotton, mind you... So I could be TOTALLY off target.

But if you don't need to hose that coil down like it's a 5 alarm fire, yeah... go with cotton or silica... you don't have to oxidize them, you don't have to worry about those damn wick/short hotspots, and unless you crank on the thing like your a nic fiend, it'll probably wick just fine, thanyouverymuch. Not to mention that you can pick up a skein of Peaches and Cream with enough to last you until the Sun burns through its remaining Hydrogen for like a buck fiddy.

I'm curious myself how one would perform, but I don't want to tear down a working mesh/wick combo... it's like of like taking apart plumbing in an old house... good luck getting it all back together correctly.

Yep, you pretty much explained my complaint with mesh. It wicks as good as anything but just too grumpy for me. Silica and cotton work fine for me. If I do stainless again, it will be cable with a diaper as X and others on this thread have employed.
