Would the same "higher is good" apply to ekowool as well?

What in your opinion :)scary:) should I be running my K-Lite at with 3mm Ekowool as the wick, and a 5/6 wrap of 30g resulting in a 1.6ohm coil?

Dragons Fire loaded ofcourse..

Well... depends... with most things, you don't want bump up the power just for the sake of doing it. But each juice has its own sweet spot that varies from device to device (or, more accurately, from coil to coil).... You might have to run it at 8w on that pip of a coil on a clearo, 10 or 11w on something like an IGO-l and 20w on a RSST.

The more coil surface you have in the 'contact zone', the more power it can take. It's all energy density. If a coil gets too hot, you start to do very bad things to the juice (i.e. burn vs vaporize) That tini-tiny coil that sits in a Protank head runs much hotter than that larger coil in an RDA (and your K-Lite) running at a higher power. I know I got very nervous the first time I pushed my RDA above 9w... With my evods, if I hit 9.5, it was HORRID... but I kept clicking that right button on my Vamo and the RDA kept going fine. When I pulled the wick and saw that it wasn't the charred black mess I saw on my clearo coils on a few occasions, I realized that one size doesn't fit all.

As for your K-Lite.... a 5/6 of 30 is a fair amount of wire... Try stepping up a bit on the power and testing it out. 9w might work best for you... but maybe there is a little piece of vaping nirvana at 10... or 10.5... I've found that DF loves heat. That's the great thing about a VV/VW device.

I have been running it at 9 since this morning. Time for another bump.. ;)

Provape resells AWs because they are the best, highest quality battery you can get for the most part.

There's a battery thread somewhere that has the licensed vendors... there are some counterfeits kicking around, but I think most anything domestic is legit.

And.... AWs are NEVER, EVER dirt cheap... but they are always high quality. I believe they are all made by a battery obessed dude in China who meticulously tests various cells and only slaps AW on the ones that pass some very strict standards.

Good place to buy 18650's for Provari?

I got a couple 18650's from ProVape when I bought my Provari. They were AW, IMR 18650's, 2000mAh, button top. They're beginning to lose their punch. Need suggestions where I can get replacements (if you have a Provari).

Post what you're looking for in this thread, after reading and seeing pricing on the first post of the thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/155889-new-aw-battery-importers-exporters-america-shipping-worldwide.html

I've always bought my AW's from Allen. He's quick to reply and to ship. Never had an issue with atleast 5 or 6 orders that I've placed for different size AW's from him over the last few years.

I should have made it more clear...I want AW. I guess I was looking for a source which y'all gave me.

Thanks for the info fellas. :)

Bookmarking them.

RTDvapor.com is where I buy mine bronze. They seem to be fairly inexpensive there. And they sell a lot of AW IMR's.

When a rechargeable battery peters out, is it that the cycle simply does not last as long or it does not charge up all the way? I threw my batts on the multimeter and I'm getting 4.15 - 4.20 volts (fully charged). I believe that's what it is supposed to be.

I'm running 3.6 volts on a 1.9 ohm Kayfun. That's only 1.9 amps but it seems my cycle is awfully short.

How long you getting on a fully charged 18650?

Batteries may just be going bad. I have a set that's nearly a year and half or more old that's not lasting as long as well. Seems to charge ok, but just dies sooner.. Example: I put a fully charged one on this evening at 16:30. 4 hours later it's at 40% on my Evic with RSST. 4.1v on 1.7ohm for 9.5w. That's using 2.4amps of current.

I always thought the capacity crapped out. But like I say, I'm reading 4.18 volts on a fully charged battery with my multimeter which seems to be healthy. I don't think these batts are but six months old.

Are you having to fire the device longer per hit? Or are you taking the same length drags that you used to? Wondering if you're using more power per hit as opposed to before? I notice I'm having to take 7 - 8 second drags to get the coils to fire/heat up and that may be reducing battery life per charge cycle. Possible?!

I get all my AW batts from RTD, myself. AW 1600mAh have a higher c-rating than the 2000mAh. For the more adventurous builds (below 0.5ohms) I use MNKE rated for 30 amps in bursts up to 15 seconds.

Make your batts last longer by:

Charge often. Don't let them go down to 3.2 volts nor allow your vv to tell you when they need a charge. Charge them when they hit 3.5 volts if you can manage that. Lithium batteries like to be charged.

Get a charger which will properly turn off all current when the battery is charged and only turn back on if it dips below. I use the Xtar VP1

Charge them with a consistent amperage. If you charge an 18650 using 1000mAh output, always charge it at that amperage. Don't switch it to a charger using 500mAh or 650 mAh.

Don't over-drain using mechs. It's easy to let the voltage get too low using unregulated mods. Also know, if you're using sub ohm coils, your batts aren't going to live as long.

Buy a lot of batteries and rotate them. A single pair of batts might last you 9 months, but triple your stock and you'll triple the live of the batteries (provided you rotate them equally). My original AW 18650 1600mAh batts are still holding a good charge after 10 months, but I have 12 18650s now.

I'm sure you all do the above, but it's good info for more novice users. So many people are getting into ridiculously sub-ohm builds who don't know the first thing about battery care. I was talking to this kid who had been vaping for 3 months and he was on dual coils @ 0.25 ohms! The scariest thing was his batteries were generic from FastTech. He was wondering why his button was getting hot. I gave him a talking to.

Good points X. I pretty much follow everything you've listed. Got 8x 18350's, 8 x 18500's and 6 x 18650's that I switch through depending on what devices I'm using. I'm making the switch to 18500's for all..so will most likely be picking up more of those once the 650's and 350's die out.

Good primer X.

For $11/batt I'm not going to complain about using them up a little too fast. I'd just like to know when the batt is kaput and what I should expect.

Reduced time, basically. Over time, the battery will still charge to the full voltage, but the overall stored charge will be reduced....a 2000 mah starts acting like it's a 1600 mah....our even shorter.

Remember that it's the charger that determines the fully charged voltage, not the battery.

I've been looking at getting a kick 2 for my K100, so the 500 would give the room. Only thing holding me back is the 15w max. If only it could hold at 20w.

At some point, the DNA20 is going to be available in a drop in... then it'll be a no brainer.

Though, I read that the extension on a Vamo will screw on the end of the K100, allowing room for a kick with a 18650... 'course then the K100 starts getting to be as long as my Vamo. I like the fact that my K100 with a 650 is as long as my Vamo with a 350. I'd run 350s if they didn't get sucked dry so quick.
