Beginner's luck. I had made a wick for my AGA-T+ and coiled it with 32 kanthal. No good on the vamo. Hot spot city, horrible taste. So, I decided to try an 28 gauge coil and fire it on the Natural. 4/3 wrap. My meter is wonky so I have no clue the ohms, but it has to be low. Vapes like a steam engine. Wow.

Ice, are you sure you have your VAMO in RMS mode and not PWM mode? Hot spots are consistent with PWM mode.

Have I mentioned lately how much I'm liking my DiD clone?

If anyone ever wants to try a rba I would suggest getting a DID clone, friend just got one and I got it coiled and wicked really nice on the first try.
I then took it all apart and had her do it and she got it on her first ever coil and wick.
I have made a few but not very many so it's not to hard to do and the DID Clone is easier to work with then the bliSS.
I did take a small drill bit to the hole in the cap and made it look like this \/
Figured it would work better and it did.
I did it by hand too.
Bleeding Heart taste good in it.

Thanks again Z.

Hmm.. may have to ream out the wick hole on my AGA (how's that ED?). The coil is working too well for the wick to keep up. More surface area, better wicking, if I understand it right.

You're a tinkerer Bronze, you'll like an AGA. I can't recommend it on a Vamo though, but that may just have been me. Great on an unregulated mech mod with heavy wire. Clouds of vapor, no lie.

Received a new GP Paps 18350 yesterday. Shipped from Vapourart in Bulgaria to Idaho in 4 days. Amazingly tiny mechanical mod being 60mm tall with beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. Seems to have very little voltage drop but that would be expected as there are no springs and the contacts are brass (you adjust for battery length by a brass screw arrangement).

Very pleased. One minor nit is that the positive pole in the 510 connection is deep down there but I think that is adjustable as well.

I appreciate the heads up Ice. I'll probably use Ida on the AGA as a rule. But maybe I can try it on the VAMO and see if I get the same result as you. I'll let you know (in time). The VAMO he sent me is no good either. The left button doesn't work. But he'll eventually get back from vaca and test one for himself before he sends the replacement. He said he's embarrased that he is 0 - 2 in shipping me mods. But those VAMOs are well built for the price tag.

Being so new in all of this I finally cleaned out 2 Vision Nanos to prep for a sample of Huntsman.

I have been reading many posts about the how to's then just jumped right in. After rinsing with hot water and blowing them out I let them sit for over a day. I did perform a few dry burns. Filled one of them up it had the worst burnt taste. I figured that I had ruined it. I also read of people doing this and many mentioned letting them sit and soak a while. Did that and still the burnt taste was there. It seems that after blowing through the tube a few more times that little pieces of black residue came out. Now it no longer has that burnt taste.

There are so many procedures that people recommend. Vodka is one I read a lot about. Haven't tried that yet. I would probably end up drunk and not caring how things taste after a while.

I am sure that I may eventually ruin a few in the future but live and learn.

The guy bought the lot in one swoop. I'm still on the fence about letting go of one of my Fluid Flasks. I'll remember to ask you if I decide to.

I never had any luck cleaning anything once they taste burnt and getting good results. That goes for clearos, Novas, and cartos. I've done vodka soaks, hot water boils, denture cleaner soaks, dry burns, and just about anything else suggested. Bleh! Those Nanos have a pretty bad rep when it comes to burnt taste. I would recommend getting a Vivi Nova and/or a Kanger Evod and learn how to rebuild coils on them with cotton yarn. It's really easy and you save money not having to shell out cash for new heads. Once they taste burnt, just rebuild and go. Cleaning those things is a waste of valuable vape time, imo.

I have 2 Vivi Novas but also have 2 replacement atty/wicks. I have read a few comments about using cotton. Guess that it will make sense once I try it or ask the following question:
Is there any particular yarn to use?
Is the wick the only part that goes bad over time or does the atty quit?

New Nova heads have a piece of fiber material that shrouds the coil. Those things get gunked up and make the vape taste bad. Pull the silicone cap off your atty and look down at the coil. If you see this paper/fiber shroud, take it out (grab a pair of needle nose and just give it a good yank and hope it doesn't take the coil with it). Your burnt taste will go away. If you don't have that fiber shroud in there, then put a new head on.

Over time your coil will go bad too.
