OK, last attempt on my genny. Got a new ss wick, new coil, no hot spots, 1.1 ohms, it's hitting perfectly. Just like the previous three setups. The resistance would creep up after a couple days. If it happens again I am sending it packing. My Phoenix rba's deliver a better vape and I never have to fuss with those. I don't have time to let a $25 piece of metal to push me around. I have better things to do with my life.

It goes up a good .5 - .7 after two days. I was kinda blaming this Dragon's Fire for it.

Crazy I've never had mine move but maybe .1 or .2 at the most. Using legend or serendipity in mine. Just got that rsst set up and it's working beautifully. Thats using the cable and diaper method from X. I never liked the ss mesh but that's just me. The ss cable has renewed my interest in genesis atty's. Even went ahead and ordered a mech mod to throw it on.

If you give it a good dry burn does the resistance return to normal? As my coils and wick dirty my resistance will change. Once I empty the genny and give it a dry burn to clean the coils off it almost always returns to where it started

That sounds like some kind of short or break in the circuit. Are you using 32AWG Kanthal by any chance? My stock of 32 gauge tends to develop burn spots in it, inhibiting the current and increasing the resistance. There are portions of my 32 AWG which are frankly unusable. It may be a QC thing. One way to test this is to take a length of wire and torch it until it glows along the entire length. After it cools, run the wire between your fingers feeling for any areas that feel rough. A rough spot may appear darker than the rest of the wire and may even be brittle. If you get a positive result with this test, I would suspect the issue is the quality of your wire. Try using a heavier gauge or wire from different stock.

X alluded to the same thing. And when I disassembled I saw some crud build up on the coils. So I thought that might be causing some elevated resistance too. I will try dry burning. Seems after two or three tanks is when the resistance starts to climb. Is dry burning a pain with a wet ss wick? Might be a good time to do a thorough syringe-rinse and let it dry out.

I initially used 32 but then switched to 30 once I received it. Had the same problem with both. This last rebuild started at 1.1 ohms and is holding at 1.2 now. So far 1-1/2 tanks has been put through it. I'll report back daily and see where it goes.

Thanks for the confirmation X.

How often do you syringe-rinse? And do you just leave the ss inside?

I do a rinse whenever I change flavors or when I notice a lot of gunk at the coil. I leave the wick and everything in tact. I will even fully rinse the deck under running water. After several flushes with hot water in the tank, I dry off the base and deck with a paper towel and do the dry burn until the wick is dry and the coils glow evenly.

Sugary sweet flavors gunk up my coils like crazy. I'm glad my ways of cleaning the tanks are done by people like X. Validates my ways of doing things without reading 100 pages of crap.

What I have learned is the wicking material is irrelevant visa vie gunking.

Actually, I find I have to rarely clean or dry burn my RBA's. I go a long, long time before I do. That was the best thing anyone has ever sent me MP. :)

Bronze, you would love a Kayfun Lite. Convenience of a DRA build, 3ml capacity, condensed flavor, and VV friendly. I love all kinds of devices. I've got tri-post drippers, gennys, DCTs, Protanks, HH357, Odysseus, Terminator, but none of them match the ease and vape quality as the Kayfun. It is the best of all worlds for me. Sure, it's $100 but absolutely well worth the coin. If you ever consider gifting yourself a high-end device, I strongly recommend the K-lite.
