Yeah, I was swamped at work, and could not respond. So, I'm guessing that you rinsed and dry burned that "mess" before posting a pic of it right? Did you rinse/dry burn it at some point during the 10 day period too? Or, was it in the chimney for 10 days straight?

Edit: I'll show you what 2 days of Southern Gentleman in a K-Lite does to 3mm Ekowool. Give me a few mins to get it uploaded. :)

Rinsed and dry burned after every two tanks and just before this pix.

Truthfully, DF is clean enough I could probably go more than two tanks. It hardly creates a puff of smoke when I dry burn it.

Here you go.. This is why I have to change my coil every 2 days. :)

NET's may be heavenly in the K-Lite, but they sure are not easy on the coils. Vaped at 8.5 - 9 watts btw on a 2.2ohm coil.

That can't be DF!!!

No! Southern Gentleman from MOV. I said it in my previous post. :)

Working on a sorta mini coil, 10 wraps of 30 around a 2.3mm allen key. Just messing around really. It's measured out at 2.8ohms. I'm going to give it 4mm of silica and see how she does. ;)

That's right, you did mention SG. Good grief! We're spoiled with DF, yuh know?

Let me know how that 2.8 ohm set up works. Have you tried 2mm?

DF gave me almost similar results, but keep in mind that I was not doing mini/micro builds, so gunk was spreading across the wick/coils faster. Hoping for better results this time around.

I had to go with almost 5mm of wick because at 4mm of wick, I still had a little room around the inside of the coils. I did this by stripping 2 strands of the 8 core 3mm silica wick. I figured that each strand was 1/2mm.

I ended up having to add another strand to the mix so that the wick was touching all sides of the coil without being squeezed in. So, 7 strands of wick approximately 2.5mm, doubled up gives me 5mm of wick in the approximately 2.4mm ID coil.

Trimmed wick to the top of the chamber, pushed wick down into the chamber. Dripped around 10 drops of "BALKAN" and then loaded up the rest of the tank with the Balkan from NET.com.

Set the Provari to 4.8 and BOOM!! Wow! No complaints here.. hitting like a champ!

I know I'm not going to regret getting 4x60ml of Balkan. It's an awesome vape, right up there with Apache! :)

Good news on the coil. It's a whopper but who cares if it works. You'll have to take that apart after every tank of gunk juice anyway so pulling out the wick and replacing it with a fesh one wont be hard. And dry burning with no wick is a cinch.

Agree with you on Balkan. I'm on my last drops of Apache and have some Balkan in process. Not a big difference between the two. I've been vaping a lot of Apache lately and I really enjoy it. And not for just a couple hours at a time. That spicy note hits me just right.

You got it. It is a whopper of a coil, but like you said, atleast I'll be able to change out the wicks without having to replace the coils. I don't mind the 2.8ohm range, because I used to use 2.8ohm Smoktech cartos back when I was on carto tanks. The Provari has no problems processing that range either. I'm not planning on using the K-Lite on a mech anyway..

I built a coil on Sunday night and loaded with Apache. Used it at work all day Monday and Tuesday. Changed coil on Tuesday night, and went with Southern Gentleman. That coil I just changed tonight.. so, every 2 days like I said before. :)

I'm going to be torn between ordering more Apache vs sticking with Balkan. I'm going to wait and see how Balkan short, mid and long steeps.. So, crack open a bottle at the 1 month, 3 month and 6 month mark. I'll keep you posted on progress. As of now, the Apache I'm vaping on is 3 months old. I've got 2 more bottles the same age waiting in the wings. Same with the Southern Gentleman.

I agree, Balkan is an extremely nice vape! I have about 10ml left and it's about two months old. Won't be able to buy any more NET.com NETs for a while - need to save for the VAMO replacement.

Dust, are you able to get the heat to build up quickly on those coils or is there a noticeable delay?

My Apache is 3-1/2 months old and just about kaput. I think I mentioned this once before...I went to MOV to pick up a few supplies. It didn't amount to much and I wanted to cover my shipping costs so I had them throw in a bottle of Apache for the hell of it. Wow, I was surprised at how much I liked it. I was adverse to ordering any liquid from MOV. See the OP in the Big Thread.

No delay at all. A 4 or 5 second hit is ALL I need.. I want to see if that stays true of the next 24 hours.

Just read the OP in the big thread. Do you recollect what it was about MOV that you had read? For me SG and Apache are the two that I liked. Pendragon, not so much.. too light for my pallette. Sunday morning was ai'ight..did nothing much for me. I've not tried their RY4 or Hey Jack.

Back then, MOV did not make NETs. I was scrounging for good juice and had quite the list of vendors. I went to MOV and actually had an order filled out with them. All I had to do was hit the send button. But then I ran into Dante and he told me everything tasted like pine needles from MOV (and Dante likes everything - almost). That was enough to scare me off. MOV started in on NETs about what 6 - 8 months ago? Anyhow, Heather's was my next stop. The rest is history.

heh.. yeah... I have another NET from MOV.... It's a Virginia Flake RY4 (they have it as a 'limited edition')... firstly, it is an EXCELLENT tasting juice. Not sure how RY4 it is, but it sure is tasty... it's like vaping yellow cake batter. :) Yum.

BUT...

It's some nasty stuff. I had it loaded in one of my RDAs and it only took about a day before the cotton was totally gunked up and not performing all that well. When I pulled the cotton, it looked like I had it soaking in crankcase oil. And I had a little 510 atty that had been going strong for a few weeks (with regular cleaning)... all it took was a few run-throughs with the MOV RY4 before it checked out for good.

It's one hell of a juice though. But it's only going to go in my RDAs... swapping cotton wicking takes only a couple of minutes. I only have a little left... I might consider ordering more though.

I am not an expert, but I have read that most NETs have a fair amount of particulate matter and impurities that will absolutely devastate a wick.

:) Thankfully, HHV's NETs aren't among them.

Reporting back in..

K-Lite performed flawlessly all day today with the mini coil I built last night. No drop in flavour taste or vapor production. Wicking is also perfect. No dry hits, and no gurgles.

I'm not going to touch it for the next day or two and see how she does.

/me is a happy camper. :)
