The zmax just does watts. When I first went vv I went thru 2 vmax in less then 2 months. They both died in 23 days.

Got my atomo clone a few days back.
Out of the box they were disgusting and dirty. First pic you can see the tube on left is cleaned while the others are nasty.
Second pic they all cleaned up with nevrdull.
Final pic was this morning. Brushed the tube on the left and tossed in oven for 30 minutes at 550°(highest it went) and I think it came out fantastic.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

What dulled in in pic3? The brushing or the annealing?

I got to wondering. Has anyone cloned the Provari? Can't believe SlowTech doesn't have a clone for $39.95. :)

You could claim that just about any cheap tube VV is, I suppose. It's not like the Provari is all that complex, it's just that tough/durable & made by a company that stands behind their product 100%. If they were to do a fairly close clone, it'd cost them just about as much as it costs ProVape to make one... and what buyer is going to sacrifice ProVape's reputation, the quick turn-around repair time, etc... for maybe $20 savings?

Besides, you could order a new Provari, receive it, find out you got a flawed one, return it & get a new one, all before SlowTech clears Singapore. :D

Pretty much. I see that Vmax goes for $95 as it is. I'll stick with the real thing. :)

I have a full-size polished & a mini Stealth which is good for me. I've thought about a pipe mod, but I'm a woodworker by trade, so I'd be pretty picky about it. The other one that's caught my eye is the svoemesto one (name is escaping me at the moment). Sounds like they had a rough start, but they've finally got their stuff together & it sounds like they care about their customers just as much as ProVape. I won't buy another mod until vaping has saved me at least $200 over smoking, which will be a while, so I'm not in a big hurry or anything. The only reason I have 2 Provari's is just in case I need to send one in for something. I can live with just 1 for a week. :)

Dusty is our resident pipe dude. Got any questions about those, he's the man. :)

Dusty scares me.

;)

(Hi Dusty, I still love you)

I'm not so much worried about the pipe, but getting the actual wood I order & of a quality that I would let a project leave my shop in. Woodworkers can be rather picky like that. A slight mar in the finish, the wrong finish, not sanding completely or to a high enough grit... the nitpicky stuff that only a fellow artisan would pick up on. I might just end up making one myself if I find some electronics I like... but I'm still in the hole quite a ways so it'll be a long, long time before I even start seriously looking at them. I started vaping about 4 months ago & completely quit smoking 47 days ago. Pile that on with a pair of Provaris, a KFL, DIY juice supplies, a 2+ year SHTF nic supply, 5 carto tanks & a lot of pre-mixed juice... yeah... it'll be awhile. :) The nice thing is that other than a 2nd KFL, I'm good on hardware & really don't need anything else. The pipe or the Svoemesto mod would just be a 'treat', so to speak.

Yeah, a moratorium would seem appropriate in your case. :)

They make non-wood pipes too.

In my defense, I stayed within my monthly smoking budget the whole time & haven't spent a dime that I wouldn't have on cigs anyways. The spreadsheet I use to keep track doesn't take that into account though, because I want to know when I actually do start saving money. The first 2 months were the worst, because of the 2 Provari's (& 1 of them being a Stealth). This month I dialed the tobacco budget back 30% & I should be able to knock off another 15-20% again next month... so I'll start catching up a bit faster pretty soon. Having a couple 100mL bottles of Dark Horse (my all time favorite, can't live without it juice) helps too instead of buying 15 & 30mL bottles from a dozen different vendors every month. In fact, I only bought from HHV & 1 other vendor this month. My stockpile is finally growing instead of vaping everything I've got. :)

Yes, there's spending curve initially. It flattens out once you get all your favorite toys and smoke juice. Definitely can be a money saver if you don't allow it to become a hobby or feel compelled to constantly chase the latest and greatest. :)

constantly chase the latest and greatest. :)

Tends to be a whole lot of the former & not so much of the latter. :)

I do my research before I buy stuff. A lot of people like to complain about the cost of the Provari, but they saved me a ton of money. I initally had an 808 setup that just wasn't doing it for me, so I spent hours and hours reading & researching. The Provari was spendy, but I couldn't count how many times I read, "I bought this, then this, then this, then this, ... and I got a Provari, it's exactly what I've been looking for." There were enough 'haters' out there that pointed out the 'flaws' that I had a really good idea of both the pros & cons, and I knew what I could live without. So I skipped spending hundreds of dollars on dozens of other mods that I likely wouldn't have been happy with & jumped straight to the Provari. When I wanted an RBA, I did the same thing & got the authentic KFL. I don't regret either, nor the dozens of hours I spent learning all I could to get there. It definitely made the initial investment more expensive than going out & buying an Ego, but in the long run I saved a ton of money on gear & can spend more on juices right away.

Unfortunately juices aren't so easy unless you taste them yourself. At least I've got a few go to flavors now & I can stock up on those while sampling other stuff. I got 4 new ones from HHV this time when I ordered some Dark Horse in bulk, so I'm hoping 1 is another homerun. I've ordered from them a few other times so I've tried Java Smooth (the worst HHV flavor I've had yet), Mocha Java (nice but needs a ton of aging & still isn't a knock out) & Huntsman (another one I don't really care for). I've got Shadow, Heavenly Tobacco (I wanted Heavenly Army, but it wasn't available in the sample pack - I'll probably try a 15mL in the next order though), Legend & the wildcard, Blueberry Muffin.

The only problem spending bookoo on a Provari out of the gate is if you find you don't like vaping and quit. I'll suggest to noobs to go with a VAMO-like mod and if they last the life of it (which is usually 6 months at most) then graduate to a Provari. But yes, you're right, over the medium/long run, the Provari is definitly a money saver. I currently vape with a Provari and genuine KFL. They are both workhorses.

Got to add Dragon's Fire to the list of your HHV juices. It's a fave of the HHV enthusiasts.

I wholeheartedly agree; I wouldn't blindly recommend, 'Go get a Provari', or any other device for that matter. I put in some serious time & research to come to the conclusion that it fit what I wanted & needed in a vaping device. I love bad reviews, when they're legit anyhow. I want to know the cons so I can look at my own situation & decide how it applies to my personal situation... deal breaker? minor inconvenience I should be aware of? something that someone else didn't like but makes no difference to me? After reading dozens and dozens of them & looking for the pattern, the trend that emerges tells me a lot about the product I'm looking at. In the case of the Provari, I came to the conclusion that the chances of it not working out for me were so minor that I was willing to take the $20 or $30 risk of having to resell it. In the case of the KFL, I narrowed it down to that & the Russian 91, going back n forth for several days... they're so close. It was actually the location of the air adjustment screw that was the deciding factor - neither is 'wrong', but I liked the sleeker look having it hidden & knowing that I wouldn't have to tinker with it very often. In both cases, I started off looking at dozens of options & slowly whittled them down until I had what worked for my personal situation. And of course, what's right for me might not be right at all for someone else, so I'm with you 100%... if someone hasn't put in the time to really look at their options & what's available, it's not a good move to just buy something expensive on hopes.

Glad you mentioned Dragons' Fire, I was looking at that one today. DF, HA & Sludge are all on my list to try next. I wanted to try a few other new ones with this last order, but I'm almost out of Dark Horse & that's just not acceptable. :)

Yep... pretty much. Took me a little bit, and a drawer full of some discarded gear, but I've settled in with my Vamo and K100 with some RDAs that work like clockwork. Keeping costs in check was the reason I got the KFC rather than the real deal or the Russian.... For $21, it was worth the flyer and I'm glad I did... it's a great device. It's in my bag now as it's far more thirsty than my RDAs, and my Cinful Apple supply was dwindling fast.

By the way... silica + KFC + Legend... not a good combination. Not sure what was going on, but the vape tasted horrid... there was a dirty ashtray note to the vape and the wonderful sweet tones of the juice where nowhere to be found. When I tore it down, the wick was wet enough and there was some juice in the deck, so I'm not sure what is going on with that.... so the Legend will go back in the dual coil Nimbus clone... and the CA is back in the Trident... not complaining though, those RDAs perform perfectly fine... having that tank in the KFC was nice though. I'll bust it out once I order some more CA (which tasted GREAT in there).
