The last time I used silica I soaked it in the juice I was using and lit it up. Let it burn off and repeated. That's the ONLY way I got any flavor from silica in a kayfun. I am gonna try cotton ball again today because I have it in my dripper and it's great.

I really love the cotton in my dual coil IGO-T. Bam!

Heh... that's why everyone needs to experiment with their own stuff. :)

I tried a silica wick in my KFC once.... took all of about half a tank before I pulled it. It tasted HORRID.... It was wicking just fine, but there was just some nasty flavor that overpowered the juice.... with cotton micros, only thing I taste is the juice.

New silica tastes bad...for about a half a tank. Once broken in, there is no wick taste. And when you consider you can vape dozens of tanks on one wick, that's a small percentage of the time.

Finally got the R91% clone to my liking 2mm diameter microcoil 10 wraps 30ga 1.9ohms with organic cotton ball wick at 10 watts with Legend giving me close to the flavor I get out of the 3.1 with a higher resistance coil airflow is definitely the difference between the two clones .

Ha! I remember when the Kayfun was all there was (not long ago). Now there are clones of clones. :)

Bronze, I have 2 legit KFL's and I picked up an hcigar 3.1(which is dead on and the quality is superb) also an ehpro 3.1 and meh, where it does the job it has it's flaws. And yes the cloning is getting crazy it seems. Glad I had the originals first.

Also got some accessories.

It came with a clear cup/chimney but don't feel comfortable using that yet.

Technically the R91% is an alternative to the original Kayfun, an evolution by one of the original designers.

The KFL+ copied the better of the R91% less adjustable center pin.

I don't know for certain who created what in the SvoëMesto think tank, I have an uneducated feeling it was the creator of the R91% who actually designed the Kayfun.

True, but the KF was out before the R91. So I guess technically the R91 is a clone of the KF (or itself). One or the other.

I've thought the same thing and it would be a VERY smart move on the creator's part. Wonderful marketing spin, while still raking in the dough.

The R91% had the aiflow control first so would that make the Kayfun lite plus the clone of a clone of a clone ?

The Russian was the clone of the Kayfun 3.1. The R91 retained the features of the Russian/3.1 in the size of the KFL. It took the best of both of them and raised it to the next level.

I had heard the same story as 54 above mentioned , that the R91% designer was part of the original SM company and had a parting of the ways . The manufacturer of what I'm calling an R91% clone actually calls it a Kayfun lite clone but this clone has aiflow control and was out before the Kayfun lite plus was out so I'm calling it an R91% clone it's definitely not a 3.1 clone , the 3.1 has a broader range of adjustment on the aiflow so it's easier to dial in .

Well I sold another mod last night. It feels good to sell the items just sitting around then I don't have to feel so guilty. I've found my groove and it's working so well for me. I'm saving my silica for rebuilding the tiny things (Evods, Sophias etc.) as being so small they are harder to rebuild so being able to DB and extend their life is good.
