Found it - it was the General who I was talking to about Nichrome wire.

Wow, shipped in only 4 days!!!! Guess that's what I paid for, eh? SS cable is here already - I got a couple pieces of mesh and some Nichrome 32g I can use on the end and for the coil. Now, how to cut it - dremel grinder or hack saw?
Nichrome? Why are you using nichrome? That stuff has lots of resistance in it.

Not pointing a finger, just wondering which is correct.

I still can't find it. The tiny white thing I cut open and there's nothing in there.

And that black yucky stuff is disgusting.

XFoo & Bronze are probably right, you may have unwound the coils when you pulled out the wires.
The video that XFoo put up is cool and you can see how the cartos are made.

Just for Ss & Gs, I took one of my old cartos apart too. All I used were two pare of pliers - one to grab the base and the other to pull off the tube.

If you click on the photos below, you can see close-ups of the coils...

Thanks Chak! Next time I'll take it apart from the bottom.

So should we recoil some now?

April, do you use the Nova tanks at all? Those are supposed to be quite easy to rebuild. Cartomizers are not made to be rebuilt - when I took mine apart, I pretty much mangled the base and wouldn't be able to use it again.

I don't Chak, I was just kidding. Bronze was trying to tell me I could last night.

And for the record...Kanthal has more resistance volume for volume. No idea what the hell I was thinking with the first answer. If you ever compare the two, you must take wire size into consideration. Nichrome may have more resistance than Kanthal but that is because it will be a thinner wire. That's apple and oranges and not a fair comparison.

I've rebuilt with Nichrome and truthfully, it tastes awful on dry hits especially. I don't think it gets as hot either. X might know.

Have you ever had any issues getting through the security check?

Bronze, I travel quite a bit. I've only had the outside of the nova tested once, even though they knew that it was an ecig. I was using the twist at that time. The last time I flew, I was using the Provari and the lady that was running the X-ray belt machine thingy looked at it upside and down, with a puzzled look on her face. I told her what it was and she said she hadn't seen one like that before. Called her supervisor over and he was a vaper too! He had seen them on the net and remarked to the lady that I had a lot of money sitting there ;)

She let it all go through saying, if it was good enough for him, it was good with her.

Just twice, in about 8 times through security, have I had anything looked at. I lay the one I'm using on top of my purse, very visible, while it goes through. I don't even put the clearo I'm using in a baggie, I leave it assembled. I've never had an issue with the liquid in a Nova assembled on my PV.

Geesh, now that I think about it, I haven't flown in awhile. Fine by me. I hate flying. Mostly because of the hassle of getting to the airport and through security, etc.. I flew a lot too and if I never flew again I would never miss it. I was supposed to go to Cincinnati this month but got someone else to go for me (because I dislike flying so much).

I'm a white knuckle flier....can't stand it! Me being stuck in a small area with a bunch of strange people is my worst nightmare. Drinking helps. :D

Is e-cig stuff even legal in SA?

I'm guessing not, customs out of Colombia was brutal. They took my hoop apart to check inside it for drugs.

It was just a little 510 with pre filled gross cartos. Not a major loss as I was just testing the whole thing out at that time.

So much crime in Columbia...drug trafficking and terrorism mostly. I can see why they are on pins and needles over there. Their prospects improved when Hugo bit the dust recently.
