let's talk inside GG thread cleaning

Great idea!!! I dug out some of my nylon bristle gun cleaning stuff and shined up those thread nice!!! I wonder if Hoppe's would work good? Works on my 9mm and doesn't damage anything, but leaves that nasty gun oil odor.

Hoppe's should work fine. If it can be used on your gun, it can be used on your GG. I use gun oil to lubricate the threads on my GGTS and Ox-Gard on the connections. Besides, I like the smell of gun oil

I have some low/no odor Hoppe's, I might give it a try on my next cleaning.

just a minor tip for cleaning the inside threads:

The outside is nice, but the inside is vital for performance!
used for guns and it actually cleans your threads on the inside like new again.

Example:

emonty, are you PLAYING with guns AGAIN? Actually, a very good suggestion. Many of the gun cleaning tools one might have, should work well with the GGTS. Something I never thought of. Even the brass brush tools should be fine, as long as you wipe everything down after a cleaning. These gun cleaning brushes are made well so as not to have any of the wire material falling out of the brush itself, but of course the final stage of gun cleaning is a wipe off stage with oil on a soft tip brush, leaving nothing behind. If your GGTS threads somehow get real dirty, these tools will be very helpful, as some may already own them, and they will clear much more then any "toothbrush" type plastic tip brush.

For my slim I just bunch up and thread a baby wipe through the body. Once it starts to come through the other side hold your finger over the opening while you continue to thread to make sure it bunches up and gets in all the threads. Super cheep, non toxic, and works great.

I LOVE baby-wipes, I use them for everything around the house - they are fab for spills and stains on carpets.

The only thing I'd say about using them on your GG threads is that it might leave a residue cos they usually have some sort of moisturising stuff in them.
I'd certainly use a rag soaked in water afterwards and then put some Noalox on your threads for conductivity after that.
